This has gone through a few different versions, but by and far, Venser is my favorite Planeswalker yet. This is in dire need of critiquing, and I changed a lot of stuff up with the deck. It used to be much more aggro and I've since toned it back to a more controlling setup.
I'd like Seachrome Coast's instead of evolving wilds, but can't get a hold of them. Still, I should take the Wild's count down a bit. Also, Champion was in the main board, hence my deck being more aggro. I was also running 3 Cathedral Sanctifier which was somewhat useful. I don't have any more Snapcasters than the two I already have, so that option is out. I had actually taken out a Sanctifier and a Mana Leak to get the two Snappys in there. I replaced CotP with Cloudshift for more control and put CotP in the board for more aggro matchups or players that don't run gut shot or removal. Lemme know what you think, this deck really needs the help. Oh! Almost forgot to mention, the Smuggler-Stonehorn combo is great stall until Venser arrives. Stornhorn actually takes more of a backseat to some of the other things this deck can do.
So this is my current pet project. I thought I could make a deck out of nothing but boardwipe and have it compete against top tier decks. So far, it has, beating Delver and WRR quite handily.
I love this deck very very much and it's quite annoying to play against. The wincon looks very much absent, but Mimic Vat stealing opponents creatures is the primary Wincon. If that doesn't work, straight burn with Bonfire, Shock, Slagstorm and Bloodhall works well too, just a tad slower. If somehow they take care of all those, then Elixir will beat them in the end, bringing back all your stuff and, if it comes to it, deck your opponent very slowly. They aren't winning with creatures, that's for sure, and that's the primary way almost every deck wins these days. Keep the dudes down and out and this deck stays on top. The one bad matchup so far has been Tempered Steel decks, mostly because they are fast and Whipflare can't touch them. Side in Rolling Temblor and suddenly the Glint Hawks become the main problem. I think Revoke Existance in the side with the addition of shock should take care of that problem. Lemme know what you think!
This is my version of Fight Club and I think it differs just enough from the main list to have a competitive advantage against other decks of it's kind.
It differs from the current popular version by running Emissary, a key component in ramping your mana. Running with Tracker is the key and he happens to be very mana intensive. Birds helps, but only to an extent. Emissary gives you something to fight with and rewards you with mana to continue fighting. It helps you outpace your opponent.
The other difference is 3 Champion of Lambholt. She can be just as deadly as your other threats, save for Silverheart. If she pairs with Silverheart, it might as well be game over. In the mirror match, I believe she's the game changer. In other matchups, she's a force, demanding either to be dealt with or face a loss.
My one problem with the deck is that I lack the R/G duals from the coreset. It's an easy problem to fix, but I still haven't taken care of it. For now, I'm substituting in the mountains. There's only three in the whole deck, but every game I've played, I end up with at least 2. Prolly need to shuffle more, lol. Lemme know what you think!
I'd like to replace the Arsonists, Fireslingers and Goblin Grenades with better things, maybe Shock, Pillar of Flame, maybe Dangerous Bet or Faithless Looting, but I dunno. The Goblins are really useful for getting the last bit of damage through, especially Grenade, I just don't know if they fit in this deck. I feel like the sideboard could be better too, but the deck is a winner. The new additions are Revolt and BatS, they are untested and took the place of mainboard Brimstone Volley and two Artillerize, of which the latter never actually saw any play. Lemme know whatcha think!
Like I said, I think red works well, I just haven't gotten around to changing the setup. I'd like to test Thatcher's Revolt out too, but haven't found the time to even splash yet, let alone make card choices. Also, Stensia Bloodhall is an auto in, IMO.
