In one of the least surprising moves of all time I've been banned from the casual forums for the next few weeks. Not because I accumulated too many infractions or did anything illegal mind you; the mods simply felt like doing it. Oh well. Anyways, just throwing this up here in case people are wondering why I won't be posting for following fortnight.
I am very much with you Cz on calling people out on bad advice and the like, I do my very best to keep the paper Pauper/Peasant section alive much as you do with multiplayer, I gave it a rules thread, started the Primer sub-section and I actively call people out if they throw something horrid out there. I certainly hope I don't get a vague ban one day because of it.
This sub forum is becoming full of poor suggestions and misinformation, funny you got a slap on the wrist for calling people on the bull**** they shovel around as advice. I wish my exposure was as high as yours CZ, I want a two week ban for my street cred.
Can't you contest or anything? It seems very suspicious first that you get banned without infraction, yes, but also that you don't seem to be worried or care about it.
I could contest it but I don't see what that would amount to. If the mods are willing to ban me for vague and unclear reasons then it seems unlikely that they'll cut me some slack. I do care about it and it does worry me that I'm getting suspended for non-traditional reasons but I mean there's basically nothing that I can do about it so I don't see a point in throwing a fit. Nothing that I say or do is going to help my cause but it could easily hurt it. The best course of action for me to take is likely to sit tight and wait for the suspension to end. I'm a realist and I like to tackle problem-solving as logically as I possibly can and this just seems like the best solution to implement for the time being.
I'm not surprised about it or anything though. The difference between me and most posters is that I don't think that every idea is a good one. I'm more than willing to call bad advice/ideas out and/or call people out if I think that they're pulling ****ty, untested, unproven advice out of their ass. I post here because I want to help people make better decks and part of that entails weeding out bad advice that could lead them astray. Groups of people tend to make worse decisions than singular experts and so I don't like seeing people "take a bit of everything" and try and incorporate it in to their lists.
This obviously means that I butt heads with people more often than most but I truly believe that it's necessary if you want to produce the best possible product for the consumer. It's my goal to have people leave here with a better deck and hopefully some better deckbuilding knowledge as well. That often means ignoring 85% (random number, you get the idea) of what they're suggested in my mind. I'm aggressive and argumentative at times, there's no question about that, but that's what it takes to be the best in my opinion. Everyone (myself included) needs to be held accountable to their arguments and claims and should be able to speak on their behalf.
I would understand if you told us it was private, but these explanations are just... it seems to be missing something, am I wrong?
Yep, you're wrong. I got a message saying something along the lines of "you don't break the forum rules but you kind of ride the line so we're going to suspend you for 2 weeks." It wasn't because of PMs that I sent, posts that I made on other forums, infractions that I accrued, etc. The mods just don't like the cut of my jib and so they felt like tossing a suspension my way. More accurately, they don't seem to like the fact that I shoot down the advice of others. Even though I'm not breaking the rules I'm kind of "disturbing the peace" or whatever and I guess that they're hoping to deter me from doing so by punishing me anyways.

Oh, that kinda sucks. I do hope you return to forums as soon as the ban is over. But in the meantime you have more time to write to your blog and I would like to read about building a multiplayer cube as today we where talking in my group that we could build one.
I would like to second the idea that if you have the time and desire to, writing about MP cube would be great.
I have tried my hand at it, but insight from someone with experience is always valuable.
A badge of honor indeed XD.

I'm so lazy though ;_;.
Nothing specific. It wasn't a ban for infractions. Just one of those vague "because you deserved it" bans I guess.
Damnit fine >.<. I'll do my best.
