Secrets of Strixhaven comes out in just four days. As part of this week's release schedule, Mark Rosewater, the lead designer for Magic: The Gathering, released the first half of the Vision Design Handoff Document. This document is the key to turning an idea into a set. Secrets of Strixhaven is a return-to set but a lot of the philosophy surrounding sets such as this have changed over time and we see in the document how that has been explicitly addressed.

Pre-release events start for the highly anticipated Secrets of Strixhaven today. The colleges of Strixhaven University were each founded by an Elder Dragon in the color identity of the school they represent.  The colleges were named after them and today we’ll look at each of the Elder Dragons’ iterations in Secrets of Strixhaven.

Today we continue our look into all the new cards being printed for the Secrets of Strixhaven Commander precons.  Quandrix is the Simic colored Elder Dragon that founded one of the colleges of Strixhaven.  The college focuses on the magical study of patterns, fractals, and mathemagics.  These are the new cards being printed for the Quandrix Unlimited deck.

We’re less than two weeks away from the global release of Magic: The Gathering’s next set, Secrets of Strixhaven.  This return to the plane, Arcavios, marks the second time Magic’s setting will be the halls of Strixhaven: School of Mages. Today we’ll take a look at each new mechanic coming to Magic: The Gathering.

Each of the five Commander precons for Secrets of Strixhaven includes 10 new-to-Magic cards. Those cards include the commander options, a special visitor from another plane, and cards that support the mechanic being used by the deck. Today we’ll explore the 10 new cards coming to the Witherbloom Pestilence deck.

The last time Wizards printed new Welcome Decks was the Spider-Man themed decks that were released alongside Marvel’s Spider-Man. Now according to an announcement on Daily MTG, Wizards of the Coast is preparing once again to release new Welcome Decks.

A new Magic: The Gathering set is less than two weeks away and Secrets of Strixhaven is proving to be a massive entry in the popular TCG.  It looks to be a full-sized set with a Mystical Archives bonus sheet as well as the inclusion of some Special Guests.  Still, it gets even bigger when you consider that this return to the classroom also comes with an unprecedented five precon Commander decks.  We recently did a deep dive into all the new cards coming to the Prismari Artistry deck but today, we’ll look at the Orzhov colored Silverquill Influence deck.

Secrets of Strixhaven is approaching fast but we’re only just getting started with previews for Magic’s next set.  Today, the Commander decks based on the Prismari college was fully revealed.  Daniel Holt, a senior game designer for Magic: The Gathering gave an exclusive interview to Tom Marks from IGN to discuss the Prismari Artistry deck. 

The next Magic: The Gathering set will be here soon. Secrets of Strixhaven debuted today on YouTube and Twitch and Wizards of the Coast revealed a lot of new information about their next in-universe set.  Today we learned just a taste of what’s coming when class is back in session at Strixhaven

As he did with Lorwyn Eclipsed, Head Designer Mark Rosewater has teased a plethora of new information for the upcoming in-universe set, Secrets of Strixhaven.  He reminded everyone that the information he’s teasing is incomplete. 

Secrets of Strixhaven is still a few months away but thanks to an exclusive given to Jason Fanelli at GameSpot  at the Nuremberg Toy Fair, we now have our first idea of what to expect out of the next In-Multiverse set from Magic: The Gathering. April’s Secrets of Strixhaven has released most if not all of the product information for the set and shown off a few of the cards.
