Magic: The Gathering’s next Universes Beyond set is Marvel Super Heroes releasing June 26th. The set will be a celebration of the heroes, villains and events of Marvel’s comic books. Marvel has announced that in addition to MTG variant covers coming to many of their comic books, Avengers fans have an actual card to look forward to as well.
On June 10th, Marvel will debut a new Avengers story that they promise will be a “dramatic turning point” in the history of the famous team of super heroes. Avengers: Armageddon #1 by Chip Zdarsky, Frank Alpizar, and Delio Diaz will serve as an early celebration for Magic: The Gathering’s next Universes Beyond Set. Each copy of the comic book both in its original art and variant covers will come in a polybag that has both the comic book and a Warstorm Surge promo. These will only be included in the first printing of the comic.
The artwork being used on this promo card is by comic book artist Ryan Stegman. The artwork will be featured as a variant art cover for Armageddon/X-Men #1 celebrating Comics Giveaway Day 2026 on May 2nd. Avengers Armageddon #1 releases June 10th and Marvel Super Heroes comes to Universes Beyond on June 26th.
