Very often we see different IPs come to Magic: The Gathering in the form of Universes Beyond and Secret Lair drops. Reimagining beloved fandoms as cards in Magic is one of the biggest ways Wizards brings in new players. Now, we’re seeing Magic The Gathering being included as part of another popular game franchise. Magic: The Gathering is coming to Destiny 2.
The announcement was made today by Bungie as part of a weekly update for players of the popular MMO. Armor sets inspired by planeswalkers like Jace, Chandra, and Liliana are coming to Destiny 2. Additionally, there will be other cosmetics coming based on different characters and factions within Magic.
Armor Suits
There will be three suits of armor coming to Destiny 2. The Flamecaller set inspired by Chandra Naalar will be used by Titans. The Mindsculptor Set inspired by Jace Beleren will be used by Hunters. Lastly, Warlocks will be able to use Death’s Majesty Set inspired by Liliana Vess.
Other Cosmetics
Destiny 2 players can also use these cosmetics:
- Sol Ring Exotic Emote - based on Sol Ring
- Ignite Your Spark Exotic Emote
- Overrun Finisher - based on Overrun
- Voice of Hunter 7/6 Exotic Sparrow - based on Phyrexian praetors
- Promised End Exotic Shell - based on Emrakul, the Promised End
There will also be a Basic Lands Shader Pack including these items based on the lands that produce :
- Golden Plain
- Azure Island
- Umbral Swamp
- Crimson Mountain
- Verdant Forest
