MTG Pro Player Accused Of Cheating And Banned From Future Events

February ended for Magic: The Gathering with a 4 Seasons Tournaments Modern event in Bologna, Italy.  Biagio “Rudokant” Cantone came out on top with his Sultai Living End deck, but now there is an asterisk on that win.  In a post to X, Cantone celebrated his undefeated win, calling his deck “absolutely extreme.” As Niall Walsh from The Gamer reports, Cantone now faces a suspension on the 4 Seasons Tournament circuit for the remainder of 2026 because of cheating.

The moment in question came when Cantone used Misty Rainforest. Video evidence suggests that he located where Endurance was in the deck and shuffled in a way that allowed him to ensure Endurance would land at the top of his deck.  Then Cantone proceeded to place the deck back on his side of the battlefield without offering it for a cut.

In his celebratory post on X, the user KKorpser posted a video of the moment, saying, “While you were busy breaking the meta you accidentally broke some rules too.”  Denying any wrongdoing, Cantone quickly took to the comments to rebuff any idea that he was cheating. From claiming he communicated his actions to calling Endurance a useless card, Cantone even said “If I’m a cheater, I’d be pretty bad at it.”

For their part, 4 Seasons Tournaments acted quickly, removing Cantone from future 2026 events on their circuit in a thread posted on X stating, “[W]e believe there is sufficient evidence to warrant all 2026 suspension for Biagio Cantone from our circuit.” Some are praising their swift and decisive action, while others think the suspension is too light a punishment.

Cantone responded to the suspension in a post saying, “I’ve decided to step away from Magic. I’m truly sorry for what happened and for the message it sent.” It’s unclear if this was meant as an admission of guilt or for how long he intends to stay out of the competitive scene.  Comments are turned off on this post which begs the question of how sincere his apology is seen by the Magic community.
