Monday, we reported that over the prerelease weekend at least 30 cards were accidentally revealed. The mix-up of some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cards being packed into the promo slot for the Lorwyn Eclipsed prerelease kits caused a firestorm of emotions varying in amusement to annoyance across all forms of social media.
Since then, more cards found this way have been spoiled — so much so that unofficial online sources had revealed every rare and mythic rare in the set. In response, Wizards has added all 61 rare and mythic rare cards to the TMNT card gallery explaining, “they're already out there if you know where to look.”

Wizards addressed this unfortunate turn of events this morning on Daily MTG. They said in part “the preview season for Magic: The Gathering | Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will also certainly look different than any of us were expecting, but that's more of an "us" thing. We've still got some amazing pieces of art, treatments, cards, and ways to play left to share, and we're going to figure out the best way to celebrate more than 40 years of TMNT through Magic.”
This isn’t the first time a notable leak happened ahead of schedule. Hour of Devastation in 2017 and March of the Machine: The Aftermath in 2023 both had early leaks. In the case of March of the Machine: The Aftermath, Wizards even hired Pinkerton agents to retrieve the product delivered in error. Unlike those leaks, this appears to be an error in production. Typically, leaks are treated with no comment, so the full TMNT reveal is a deviation from their normal operating procedure.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the next set in the 2026 Magic: The Gathering lineup. Its release is scheduled for March 6th with the preview season set to begin in February.
