Today, Wizards of the Coast streamed the last Weekly MTG of 2025. In today’s stream, we got our first look at Marvel Super Heroes. The Universes Beyond set, slated for a June 2026 release, was able to confirm some information, reveal a few cards, and show off alternate art treatments.
Commander
It was confirmed during today’s stream that there will be four Commander pre-con decks available with the release of Marvel Super Heroes. Revealed today were the commander options for one of the decks —this one based on The Fantastic 4. The Fantastic 4 Deck features all four of the titular characters and can be played with any one of them as your commander.

Triggered abilities for the four commanders happen at the beginning of combat on your turn if you’ve cast a noncreature spell this turn. Each commander has a different outcome:
- Mister Fantastic
- Draw a card
- Invisible Woman
- Create a 0/3 colorless Wall creature token with defender and reach.
- The Thing
- Put four +1/+1 counters on The Thing
- Human Torch
- Human Torch gains flying, double strike, and haste until end of turn

Each commander also has an ability that costs to use. Mister Fantastic’s doesn’t have a timing restriction on it as it is able to interact with the other three but the others’ abilities can only be used when they’re attacking. Those abilities are:
- Mister Fantastic
- Pay and tap: Copy target triggered ability you control twice. You may choose new targets for the copies.
- Invisible Woman
- Target creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn for each creature you control and can’t be blocked this turn
- The Thing
- Double the number of each kind of counter on any number of target permanents you control.
- Human Torch
- Whenever he deals combat damage to an opponent, he deals that much damage to each other opponent.
Main Set
During the Weekly MTG stream, the panel also revealed 14 cards from the main set. Most of the cards revealed were characters but a few enchantments were also shown off. Those cards were:
- Captain America, Super-Soldier
- Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur
- Quicksilver, Brash Blur
- The Sentry, Golden Guardian
- Baron Helmut Zemo
- The Coming of Galactus
- Namor the Sub-Mariner
- Super-Skrull
- Doctor Doom
- Doom Reigns Supreme
- Bruce Banner // The Incredible Hulk
- Thunderbolts Conspiracy
- World War Hulk

One of the mechanics revealed from the main set was Power-up. Power-up will likely have a different cost and effect depending on what card it appears on but the card showing it today was Quicksilver, Brash Blur. Power-up abilities can only be activated once but the cost can be reduced by the mana cost of the creature if it entered on the same turn. For Quicksilver, pay and put a +1/+1 counter and a double strike counter on him.
Bruce Banner becomes The Incredible Hulk. The Incredible Hulk has an enrage triggered ability that reads “Whenever The Incredible Hulk is dealt damage, put a +1/+1 counter on him. If he’s attacking, untap him and there is an additional combat phase after this phase.” Enchanting him with a card like Predatory Impetus would ensure that he’s dealt damage by blocking creatures.

World War Hulk can make The Incredible Hulk even better by allowing you to play him without paying his mana cost on step one, giving him three +1/+1 counters on step two, and double his power/toughness and giving him trample on step three.
Captain America, Super Soldier was the first card shown off during today’s stream. He enters with a shield counter on him that is removed if he’s dealt damage or would be destroyed. As long as that shield counter is in place, you and other heroes you control have hexproof.
The Coming of Galactus is a Saga that creates the legendary “Devourer of Worlds,” Galactus. On step 1, Destroy up to one target nonland permanent. On steps 2 and 3, each opponent loses 2 life. On step 4, create Galactus, a legendary 16/16 black Elder Alien creature token with flying, trample, and “Whenever Galactus attacks, destroy target land.”

Alternate Art Treatments
A number of cards will receive alternate art treatments that utilize comic book art. Cards like Captain America, Super Soldier and Namor The Sub-Mariner will have classic comic book cover art while Ephemerate and Heroic Intervention will be reprinted with source material comic book art. Like with Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel Super Heroes will also feature borderless panel sagas like The Coming of Galactus where each step gets its own comic panel.

Marvel Super Heroes is the fourth set being released in 2026. It will follow Lorwyn Eclipsed, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Secrets of Strixhaven. The Universes Beyond collaboration that features heroes and villains from across Marvel’s storied history will arrive in June 2026.
