In a new interview with ButWhyTho?, Wizards of the Coast revealed that the recent Secret Lair drop benefiting the National Association of Latino Arts and Culture has raised "more than $1M" since its release.

The Neustra Magia Secret Lair draws upon inspirations from Latin American culture and features some incredible art and card combinations that speak to the people who helped bring the drop to life. 50% of the proceeds from the set was donated to the NALAC, which is a nonprofit that helps to promote and support the Latino Arts community across the United States. The drop not only included new art for iconic Magic cards such as Sylvan Library and Tireless Provisioner, but was available in both an English and Spanish version (with some of the English cards featuring Spanish or Portuguese names as well).
The interview with Art Director on the Neustra Magia drop, Ovidio Cartegena, he revealed that this was something the team at Wizards was trying to do for a while, but schedules didn't align properly. Ovidio had been working on many, many sets recently, such as Duskmourne: House of Horrors and The Lost Caverns of Ixalan, among other things, but the stars finally aligned and the set was put into motion. And according to Cartegena, it sounds like it came not a moment too soon.
Via the interview:
“We started a while ago, but we kept pushing it back, looking for the ideal release without knowing what the situation was going to be,” Cartagena continued, “When it finally came, it came at a time where I think people needed to see something like that.”
