It’s no secret Magic: the Gathering and Final Fantasy have had a huge weekend with a staggering main set preview, but now, the commander deck lists are now complete.
It is now only one month until Magic: the Gathering unleashes the Final Fantasy Universes Beyond on the global plane, and the team at Wizards of the Coast uncorked a slew of new information at PAX East 2025. What they didn’t widely announce, however, is the complete Commander Pre-con deck lists that come with all four of the Final Fantasy pre-constructed commander decks.
All four commander decks have been revealed entirely, and fans of Final Fantasy will notice flavor text oozing from each card design. From the cringiest laugh in video game history to a horrific Midgar Golem impaled in new Rootbound Crag artwork, these moments from Final Fantasy history are captured as fans would expect on Magic: The Gathering cards.
It’s worth mentioning that the two mainline commanders for each deck (Example: Counter Blitz has Tidus and Yuna) appear to only be available in the pre-con itself and Collector Booster packs. Fans should take note that those eight cards can only be found in the more premium-priced products (non-foil variants have not been confirmed yet).
