The face Commanders for the upcoming Magic The Gathering Final Fantasy Commander Decks have been revealed.
The Commanders were revealed in an IGN article, and also come with the news of which of the games these decks will focus on: those being Final Fantasy 6, Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 1,0, and Final Fantasy 14. The face commanders for the respective decks (and games) are as follows: Terra, Herald of Hope (a Mardu commander focused on resurrecting smaller creatures), Cloud, Ex-SOLDIER (a Naya commander that’s all about equipment), Tidus, Yuna's Guardian (a Bant commander all about proliferate and counters) and Y'shtola, Night's Blessed (an Esper commander all about damaging your opponents through casting spells and gaining as much card advantage as possible).
The IGN article also revealed that similar to the previously released Universes Beyond Warhammer Commander Decks, Collector’s Edition decks will be available for each of the pre-cons that upgrade each card to Surge Foil variants for those players who really like their cardboard to be as shiny as possible.
Wizards of the Coast also revealed that Yoshitaka Amano, a beloved artist who has worked on several entries in the series, will be doing art for the set in a brief teaser, with more information on the set itself to be shown off tomorrow during a WeeklyMTG stream in preparation for a June 13 release date.
