Wizards of the Coast is ramping up for its upcoming prerelease events for Aetherdrift, the next set to release in 2025 and its first Standard set of the year. To get players in the mood, the team dropped a new Lo-Fi Beats video, complete with stunning shots of Chandra rolling through the various Planes that make up the set.
The new Lo-Fi tracklist is an hour long, providing some chill beats to relax to while sorting your new cards, building that sealed deck, or just relaxing while slinging spells in Arena. This is all while stunning art scrolls by on screen, featuring the Planeswalker Chandra Nalaar cycling through each of the three Planes Aetherdrift's Ghirapur Grand Prix is held on: Avishkar (formerly Kaladesh), Amonkhet, and Muraganda. The race itself sees riders compete to win The Aetherspark which is rumored to house a Planeswalker Spark within itself. This is huge as many of the multiverses' Planeswalkers were desparked as a result of the Phyrexian invasion, including iconic characters like Teferi, Nissa and more.
For those looking to get their hands on some cardboard, turn some cards sideways and actually play Aetherdrift, prerelease events kick off tomorrow at your local game store. The set fully launches next week on February 14th, though if you prefer to swing some digital cardboard around, you can hop into the Ghirapur Grand Prix early on Magic: the Gathering Arena starting February 11th. This is the first set to release into Standard in 2025, though the Standard rotation won't occur until later on this year in the Fall, which will see quite a few sets drop out of Magic's premier competitive format.
