Not a lot of Tribal in Theros, but there is a good bit of Minotaur Tribal love. Minotaur's are Red's Tribal in Warlords of Khanar.
Dashes of Human Tribal as well, White's tribal is Human.
Black will be Zombies.
Blue Merfolk.
And green... will have enough creatures to make up for it.
But Mark Rosewater indicated that they don't plan to make tribal the main theme again after Lowyrn. So what is another way that creatures can be divided into warring factions?
Colors. Warlords of Khanar will be mono-colored matters (tie in with Devotion)
tribal, with a smattering of Lords.
That's my theory anyway.
What is one way to do multicolor without gold cards? Hybrid.
Warlords of Khanar block could be hybrid, which will tie into the devotion quite nicely and allow for maybe even some wedge-like cards.
Looks like I wasn't wrong. I didn't say it but I assumed it would be all mythics which I was wrong about but I think we'll have a psudo-cycle of protection creatures. They'll just be in different rarities.
Could the protection from Multicolored be considered part of the cycle? If so, it still fits in mythic/rare cycle. The only one missing so far is the last black rare.
60 uncommons in the set: 9 uncommons per colour = 45 10 uncommons in multi = 55 that leaves 5 uncommons left for Land/Artifact one of which is Witch's eye. 4 artifact uncommons unknown not enough for a full cycle
It is amazing how few of the mechanics from this block go well with artifacts:
Monstrous Artifact creature - Does that even make sense thematically?
Devotion
Heroic - A heroic artifact creature, same problem as monstrous.
Bestow - An enchantment artifact creature?
Scry - This is the only one that can work with artifacts well.
Makes me wonder other than mana, what an artifact cycle might look like. Maybe the artifact itself doesn't have devotion, but maybe cares about it. We just had two cycles of mana artifacts from RTR block, so it would seem really out of place here I think. Too soon.
So from my estimation, we have 4 rares left, all mono-colored (To keep parity with white):
Blue Rare
Black Rare
Red Rare
Green Rare
The multicolored cards missing now are all uncommon (If we assume every 2-color combo for unc/rare):
Boros Uncommon
Orzhov Uncommon
Dimir Uncommon
Selesnya Uncommon
Simic Uncommon
Golgari Uncommon
Which also means that that huge hole in artifacts are all uncommon/common. Interesting.
Sarkhan Vol was from Shards of Alara....another nod to maybe a wedge set?

Then in Journey into Nyx it will complete the two sets of non-basics (10 duals, and 5 monos).
Turn 2 - Sylvan Carytid
Turn 3 - Nylea
Turn 4 - Arbor Colossus, Nylea - online
Turn 5 - 9/9 trample, reach, kill a flyer
Turn 6 - Get ready for the Nylea pump
Edit: You could get 6/6 Arbor out turn 3 and play Nylea 4, that way you get a 6/6 reach blocker online by turn 3.
Bident = 2 prongs
No controversy there.
It just reads wrong. The wording of the card is all wrong.
