Hey, so I went ahead and made my own sig banner, but I don't want anyone here to be offended. You guys are much more skillful than I am and the banner you made me is great. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem likely to strike fear into the hearts of my mafia enemies, which I should have specified in the beginning. Thanks anyway and I would reccommend you to anyone.

EDIT: Actually, I figured out how to change Huey's speech bubble, so I can use this sig on my real account when the game is over. Thanks!

Wolfgang Amadeus here from Blind Music Mafia. Can you make me a sig based on the Boondocks characters? (especially Huey) It should definitely say my handle on it. Also, you might have to show me how to actually get it into the sig line.

www.boondocks.net or google images search for boondocks gives lots of good images.

Edit: Actually, just use huey. Here are some that I found:

Edit: Forgot to say thanks in advance! You guys do amazing work!

I was trying to come up with the worst possible scenario for what could happen if morris is lying.

Worst case: Morris is some kind of mafia investigator. He investigated Rikos and found out Rikos has some power role. So when he sees we might lynch his buddy imhungry, he claims cop and says Rikos is scum. Conveniently, Rikos is out of town and can't roleclaim to defend himself. We lynch one of our power roles and we all say "oops." In the night, our vig (assuming it wasn't Rikos) kills morris and during the day we lynch imhungry. Thus we trade one of our power roles for two mafia, including one of their power roles.

I guess this still sounds like a good trade for the town. I think I just convinced myself.

    Unvote. Vote Rikos.

But still, I want you guys to be thinking. Is there anything that I (we) overlooked? Could this possibly benefit the mafia in any way?

Guys, I'm actually much more inexperienced at this mafia stuff than I was trying to let on...

Is there any possible way that morris's claim could be a mafia tactic? I can't think of any reason a scum would do this, but I want to be positive.

If the town assures me that morris's claim is close to 100% believeable, I will switch my vote over.

Too bad Rikos isn't here to roleclaim or anything. It could give us more info.

I just noticed this. Imhungry's first post in the game...

Did they really need to kill our Vecna charecter? Come on mafia, he isn't that good a player....

Quote from imhungry, Post 31 »
well this game is started and all i have to say is why vecna.... so ill random vote: notmafia for a bad french accent (if u were actually trying one)

This is in response to anyone_but_me being killed. Could it be that imhungry really did think Vecna was playing??? What kind of a mind are we dealing with here?

btw, serf, we haven't heard from you in quite a while.

    wait was that his information?

    ...

i saw that post; i never realized it was a response to mine

Batman can jump in here any time to clarify his own remarks. However, I think this is a pretty clear case. Batman never claimed to have secret information. What he said was:

    Quote from Batman »

I will not, however be voting for imhungry. I think I know what he's up to. It's not smart, but he seems dead set on continueing.

Now, Batman bandwagonned on his original vote for imhungry, and later changed his rationale for voting. That's pretty suspect. However, the fact that he was willing to take heat from the town and not reveal his hunch about imhungry makes him less suspicious in my eyes. He was, if we believe him, trying to protect a possible power role. Obviously, a clever scum could pretend to be protecting a townie, but Batman hasn't shown himself to be very clever thus far. That's why my vote is on imhungry rather than batman.

@morris- you were one of the first defenders of imhungry, but you haven't said anything about him lately. Do you agree with my arguments?

@notstevie- anything new to say about either batman or imhungry?

@mozart- do you care to explain your vote any more?

@BBTigger and duberz- would you guys care to make at least one serious comment on the game so far?

@HunterDuck- Do you admit now that outing Batman as a possible cop was a mistake, or do you stand by it?

    @chimichangaland- Do you even exist?

@Mr. DiFranco- If no one else posts, we can at least make this into an Ani discussion thread. I love Ani!

he needs to say something about his 'hidden information'

Have you not been reading the thread?

Ok, I'm done defending him if he's doing what I think he's doing. I believe that imhungry is acting as dumb as possible to protect himself. Possibly because he has a power role.
However the fact that he continues to act this way, but magicly cleaned up his posting looks more like scum. Not to mention he was more than happy to jump on my bangwagon.

Vecna also stated that pretending to be someone else was ok. So your suggesting that he was thinking "Vecna already said that NotStevie was not Stevie, and that him claiming to be Stevie was perfectly fine, so I'll point out that he's claiming to be Stevie and that will get him modkilled?"

Wrong. imhungy thought Vecna was lying. Look at posts 122 and 132. He said that he still thought notstevie was stevie, even though Vecna said he wasn't. He thought Vecna was playing in the game and therefore wouldn't know who notstevie really was.

Here is the promised analysis of imhungry's vote on Batman:

    Post 139:

    Quote from imhungry »
Well if that will help me out thx... i still have abssolultly no clue to what you are talking about.

When Batman says he thinks he knows what imhungry is up to, and therefore DOES NOT vote against him, imhungry realizes that Batman is trying to protect him, and thanks him for it.

    Post 149:

    Quote from imhungry »
Well I agree with HunterDuck on this I think Batman is mafia that wanted to get attention away from himself by pointing out that I said or did something that only he know (ya only him not even me(repeated for like the third time today)) so I will vote:Batman

10 posts later, imhungry (apparently swayed by the force of HunterDuck's logic) changes his mind and decides Batman is mafia. He thinks Batman is trying to detract suspicion from himself by claiming some secret knowledge on imhungry. Never mind that this knowledge causes batman NOT to vote for imhungry, or that Batman's claim INCREASES rather than decreases the attention on him.

    Post 165:

    Quote from imhungry »
Look I only vote for batman so he would say what he had been claiming he knew about me. Now that I know he isnt just trying to get peoples attention away from him I will gladly unvote: Batman. Now that I know he wasnt lieng and had a belief (that was of course false). I was the fourth vote against him because if he only had 1 vote (from me) he probably wouldn't have told me and the rest of us his idea of what I am.

Once people start alerting imhungry to the dangers of bandwagoning, imhungry decides that he didn't think Batman was mafia after all! He only voted to get Batman to reveal his hunch. The same hunch he thanked Batman for a page earlier!

The pattern I'm trying to draw here is that imhungry keeps doing scummy things, and when the town puts pressure on him he offers shifting and convoluted explanations for his behavior. I suppose these actions could all be taken by a particularly clueless newbie. But I think they are more likely the actions of a mostly-clueless mafioso.

**Trying to get into imhungry's mind**

If we are to believe imhungry, his inner monologue on the notstevie situation went like this:

"Looks like notstevie claimed to be stevie. I'll call him on it and say that he's fishy. I already know Vecna cleared him, but I think Vecna is lying. Vecna couldn't possibly know who notstevie really is, because Vecna is playing this game (even though he banned himself from playing through sept. 1.) In fact, I think anyone_but_me is Vecna! (They have the same avatar, so they must be the same person!) Wait! Egads, I just noticed that StevieT92's name has a T in it! He wouldn't get his own name wrong, so notstevie isn't stevie after all."

I do think that imhungry is a noob, but I don't think even a noob could have this many misconceptions about how things work. I think he tried to get notstevie modkilled, and then lied about what his thought process was.

I'll do an analysis of his vote on batman later.

I already explained my vote on Batman. It wasnt a bandwagon vote but a vote to reveal what he knew about me

True, but that doesn't mean we have to believe you. Whatever info Batman thought he had on you, it was causing him NOT to vote for you. So why would you want him to reveal this info?

Hey, so I just checked the list of MTGS registered users. Turns out there is no one by the name of chimichangaland (the closest is Chimpanzee!) Are you aware of this, Unsan?

I'm withdrawing my plan, since most people seem adverse to it.

Here are my thoughts on imhungry:

    Obviously he's either:

    1. A noob townie
    2. A noob scum
    3. An experienced townie faking noobishness for some reason
    4. An experienced scum faking noobishness for some reason

The thing is that, if he's 3 or 4, his plan is obviously not going well. I'd think that someone pretending to be new would be like "Hey, I'm new, what's going on here?" rather than making all kinds of absurd claims and justifications. I can't imagine why an experienced player (either town or scum) would deliberately try to draw this much attention to himself.

So if he is an honest newbie, then is he more likely good or scum? I think he's more likely scum because 1. He was trying to get notstevie modkilled, and 2. His quick bandwagon vote on batman.

I was just thinking that one of the unique things about blind mafia is that someone who is behaving erratically can claim that they were making a noob mistake.

We could potentially put a stop to this by asking players to claim upfront the approximate amount of experience they have in online mafia. The point would be that a claimed veteran could not then claim to be making a newbie mistake, and that anyone who claimed noob would have to keep up that pretense for the rest of the game.

I don't think this would give the mafia any useful information either. The claim would be very ballpark, something like 0 games, 1-3 games, 4-10 games, or 11+. Not enough to give information about anyone's identity.

I'm not saying we should necessarily do this now. I'm just throwing the idea out there for critique.
