I just found the Khans of Tarkir league promo token on eBay. These things are getting ridiculously hard to find, and expensive at that...

It's an alternate art warrior token

Yeah I don't buy that though. Look at Emrakul. It's way too OP, as a creature. And yet it got printed, with a whopping 15 mana cost. Granted, the card is still very good, but there are ways to represent extremely powerful, godlike beings (Urza, Yawgmoth) on cards, they just have to be creative.

Do keep in mind that they make these decks every year. And if popular-characters-long-dead-but-making-their-first-card-appearance proves to be as popular as we know it will be, you can bet that some of the characters people would still like to see (Serra, Urza, Yawgmoth, Leshrac, Kristina of the Woods, Guff, Slobad, Xantcha, Gaea, Hurkyl, Glacian, Ashnod, Gix, et al) will definitely make an appearance in a future product.

I won't be satisfied with Magic until I have cards of Yawgmoth, Serra, and Urza. I think anyone who played Magic pre-Modern would agree with me, they're arguably the three most important characters in Magic's first 10 years. Yawgmoth would be a monoblack Legendary Creature, Serra a monowhite Planeswalker, and Urza, well... his colors have always been up for debate.

I agree. You're missing an important piece of the puzzle, though. If these were printed on the scale of Duel Decks, there might not be as many people that would want them in the first place. The demand on this product is driven up *because* it is so limited, and *because* people want to be able to make $800 selling them on eBay. This isn't just scalpers, either -- the thrill of making that much money off of a new Magic product and not Alpha cards that have been sitting in a shoebox for 20 years lures many, many people. Also, just owning something that's worth that much money and that other people covet is what drives people to buy it.

Five minutes. Comic-Con exclusives were all put up at 10:11 EST, with the exception of the MTG one which had a "coming soon" tag. It was put up at exactly 10:30 EST and gone by 10:35.

They won't cancel all of your orders. I ordered two last year and panicked, thinking both would be cancelled, but I called customer service and they said only orders placed over the allowed amount would be cancelled. I still got one of them in the mail.

....And it's gone. 5 minutes this time, it was 6 last year.

Do you think they're imposing a 1-per-household quota on them like last year? I have no desire to order two, just wondering.

It couldn't have. It, along with all the other SDCC items, was literally just posted for the first time 2 minutes ago.

This is getting ridiculous. Where do these ship from, anyway? San Diego? Or one of their warehouses somewhere?

Well I don't think the delay in adding them to the site has anything to do with not having any supply set aside for online sales. People worried about that last year after they sold out so quickly at the Con, but there were 500-1000 added to the site the week after. Hasbro hasn't added any of the other Comic-Con exclusive items either (there are usually about 15-20), they tend to add them all at once. They're just being incompetent at the moment, they'll get around to it eventually.

Oooh, how pretty. Could you take close-up pictures of the cards out of the case? I got last year's box, and two of the cards had rough edges on them like the blade that cut them was dull, knew some other people that had similar issues.
