As someone who at different times sold power, dual lands, and collections from all the years between then and now i have only one lesson to impart. Good cards will always be good cards and worth money.
Hold on to quality cards for as long as you can. The only stuff you should not be attached to is standard "staples" that don't survive the transition to older formats. If the game survives long enough you are all but assured modern staples will be worth more down the line. It's been this way for about 20 years now.
If you can't answer this question all others are moot. How does the american public take back the country from corporations, special interests, and the government? Until that question has an answer there will be no recovery because those 3 powers will prevent it.
Israel does to Palestinians what we did to the Indians. You can go back and forth all day for the thousands of years worth of atrocities committed by both sides. Israel is acting like a rogue nation atm (and has been for years) and is committing apartheid on the unlucky few Palestinians (or brave take your pick) who remain. Evil under all names is evil and belief in god while doing it does not wash away the sins.
Nobody playing mtg has the right to tell someone else how they enjoy the game is wrong. It takes all types of people enjoying the game as they wish to make this successful.
And it's not like qq'ing about it is gonna change how people act so really what is OP even trying to accomplish? Like the whole world is gonna go "hey that guy dosen't like something. We better all get in line or...........wait he has no bearing on our lives at all."
Something people seem to forget about chronicles was that aside from city and elder dragons the set was absolute garbage. It's like they went down the list of commonly asked for "money" rares of the day and ignored them all. Even when the set came out no one was playing the terrible legends rares.
I remember hating the set after getting shafted by fallen empires. Everyone in my lgs at the time spent the morning cracking our boxes and complaining about why there weren't any of the cards we actually wanted in the set.
As to "collectors" these cards only have value in relation to the amount of prize/cash it can win you. That's how it's always been for mtg and no amount of qq will ever change it. Since modern is the format of choice for wizard's eternal support long term investment of cards all but guaranteed to be reprinted is stupid at best. But even then wizards gave you a full season heads up before actually printing the set. When modern comes around in december/january and people really go for modern staples the master's series will still be 6 months away.

I was angry about not getting the cards in time. But i did get them for a good price, and they did honor the sale even though the cards went up a lot in the meanwhile. (entreat the angels which i purchased the weekend before they shot up.) So that is a definite plus.
well since we're getting modern masters next year i'm gonna go out on a limb and say 2013 is also the year we see power come to mtgo. OR the return of leagues *finally*.
a lot of people compare this to chronicles but there's a pretty glaring difference. even when it came out the vast majoity of that set was trash. it was city of brass, the elder dragons and basically chaff past that.
sure you saw some reprints from great sets but none were the cards you REALLY wanted from those sets. this time around tho it's like what chronicles should have been in the first place. actual staples and the cards people truly want. hopefully they print enough to actually bring people into modern in spite of the hoarding that's sure to occur.

Good card is good and much like stoneforge mystic it's only going to continue getting better in standard.
