His claim didn't effect any of my reads. I didn't really buy it. But to be clear, whatever happens with me does not prove the alignment of Tau. He could still be scum through this. I don't know how often neighbors are T/S vs T/T though.
Tau's explanation from his side is accurate. I logged into the neighbor chat after it had closed. I didn't realize we had time at the beginning of the day to chat and I was away for the weekend. I read through what he posted about being a mafia defector and his request to name the scum team.
From my point of view this could have been a couple things. I haven't played with Tau before and no nothing of his experience so it could be true that he was a lone mafia that didn't know the team. He could also be town thinking I'm scum and trying to out me.
So what I felt the options were:
1. Out him immediately based on his claim in chat
2. Ignore it
3. Play along
I don't think I truly believed that he was mafia because we aren't alignment confirmed to each other so there would be no reason at all for him to give that information out freely, unless he was a brand new player. So I figured this wouldn't be the best course.
Ignoring it was possible but wouldn't be any fun.
So I chose play along to see where it went. It was also the more enjoyable of the three options. In my post I chose myself and two random people, one that was being mostly scum read and 1 that was more neutral based on the fact that there are probably 4 mafia in the game. Surprise surprise it was a gambit.
Up to page 2, I'm not super sure why everyone is piling up on LastWhisper so far. I'm not seeing anything crazy.

Well, I haven't been slimed and I'm still Vanilla so... Wasn't me.
It is interesting that I've been considered to be top 2 for scum for the last few days and I haven't been slimed. Shouldn't someone want to track me? And why is it not believable that all of Rod's teammates were on his wagon? Like at this point I would consider it more likely even if you didn't know my alignment that they were all on his wagon.
I mean it is a little bit, but it's all predicated on me being scum, but the conclusions he's trying to draw between Ruma and myself don't make a lot of sense to me.

If Ruma is a wolf, EtR is his partner 98% of the time. Mostly because EtR is Just A Wolf.
EtR is still strongly a wolf if Ruma isn't. His partners are probably zdt / Vaimes or something else I don't really believe at the moment.
EtR wolf makes Ruma a wolf most of the time. EtR town... probably makes Ruma town, actually, I don't think there's a motive for wolf Ruma to derail the wagon off of town EtR the way he did. Team is something super weird in EtR town worlds. Almost has to be, like, zdt / Vaimes / Vezok or something?
Kami town / wolf doesn't change much for me. If he's town, lol, and if he's a wolf it just means he's probably EtR / Ruma's third. If he's a neutral there's very little chance we flat out lose to him. Wouldn't have made it past review. There's a chance him leaving the game creates parity and we lose to that, but lynching him doesn't help us much there, I don't think.
I'll lynch Ruma or EtR. Would rather not lynch Kami, but I'd vote him to avoid a no lynch.
I should be here for deadline, I'll move my vote to Ruma sometime tomorrow if I can't get traction on EtR.
Your Rodemy progression, lack of reassessment after his red flip, having your wagon derailed by a probable wolf partner in the eleventh hour, and being off of the Rodemy wagon with only known town off wagon otherwise. If there's a wolf that didn't bus Rodemy, it's 100% you.
The DV flip didn't change my view of the game state at all, I really don't know what to do at the moment besides keep wondering why we're neutral hunting instead of lynching wolves. If Kami is a neutral who defeats both teams, we're probably hosed either way, because even if we lynch him at this point we have to make consecutive wolf lynches to win (toMorrow is lylo). I'm fine gambling losing to a neutral given the extremely small probability of this occurring given site meta regarding neutrals with alternate win conditions in order to maximize lynching wolves.
