If you're already running a Purph build with white, it's worth noting how good it is w/ Assemble. It's not "win more" it's "win now" The difference between a 1/1 with haste and a 2/1 or 3/1 with haste who shocks when it comes into play is pretty significant.

It's the same way Fanatic is "Win more" If you already have 4-5 red mana symbols in play aren't you winning? Don't you have a developed board? With as powerful cards are now winning now instead of in 5-6 turns is a significant advantage.

Assemble the legion works by itself. It will kill a player if they don't respond to it. There's no sense in playing 2 assemble and 2 purphuros and expecting to get them both out at the same time. Assemble already wins by itself, and in low numbers you can't expect to land both of them in the same game. Fanatic of Mogis is different because it doesn't matter what other cards you mix with it, all your creatures will make it better.

When we have shocklands and checklands everyone complains that mana is too good and everyone is just playing 3 color goodstuff. Now that checklands are being replaced with slower variants, everyone is complaining that they're **** and that Wizards is killing multicolor?

I apologize for not being able to put up pictures, but I don't see why people are still speculating about the lands. I suppose imaginations run wild even still (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing). Although, I can confirm that I've seen these cards and even held them. They're very real, and the only reason I don't believe they're fake is because of who they came from.

EDIT: I would say that they were still warm off the press when I held them, but that would be an exaggeration.

    So they're literally

    CARDNAME
    Land
    CARDNAME enters the battlefield tapped.
When CARDNAME enters the battlefield, scry 1.
T: Add X or Y to your mana pool.

    at rare?

If any single deck would be the posterchild for where Mutavault will NOT be played, it's Naya Blitz.

As noted by another guy above, w/o tribal synergies, it's just a slightly underpowered Mishra's Factory. That's still fine, but we're in an environment where color requirements are going to be tough for this to shine. Even mono-red aggro is going to want to continue casting Ash Zealots, for instance. A couple copies as win-cons in control is where I'd expect to see it first, and then a lot of hard work on mana-bases will have to be done to work it in anywhere else.

You'd have to be crazy to not play mutavault in mono-R, unless you're topping at like 18 land (gotta cast them reckoners).

After playing around and testing on cockatrice I've decided to build this deck

I wouldn't play Stromkirk Noble and Experiment one in the same deck. It's kinda tough on the mana base.

Cards that rely on their battalion ability to be playable generally aren't good. As such, this guy is kinda meh. There are likely better options in the 2 drop slot.

I would play the shut out of a 2 drop legionnaire, seems a lot better than LM to me. Alas, we have a crowded 3-drop slot, and it's a pretty mediocre card.

Boros reckoner may not seem so impressive here, but that's because people are hugely prepared for it. Supreme verdict it's one of the few cards that effectively deals with it. So long as it's in standard it's gonna be a relevant card.

Between Pillar of Flame, Searing Spear, and Flames of The firebrand, you should have enough answers to naya humans decks. Generally you'll want to stick 1 or 2 threats (noble in particular) and burn out their cards. Reckoner is a house against them.

What do you guys think of the Geist of Saint Traft RDW decks? I think that their mana is too weak, but it seems like it could be powerful.

I think it's better off as UWR tempo than it is as R/u/w aggro. GoST is a power card, and you want your other cards to strongly support it.

Played R/g tonight at FNM and swept 5-0. I was playing a 20 land hyper aggro variant. Overall it played pretty well, although a couple times I got greedy and kept one landers that happened to work out, even on the play once, which in retrospect was absolutely the wrong decision, but there was a mountain on top. Only had one loss, and it was a deck that went t3 tusk on the play, and then proceeded to resto angel it four times. Really wishing I had a pillar for those mana dorks. Either way, I think I'm gonna switch to a slightly more conistent 22 or 23 land list. BTE chains are fun, but the deck is sorta high variance and you have to mull often.

I really need to switch to playing online, but the initial investment of picking up a deck is what's putting me off. I already own all my paper cards, and at the LGS I go to store credit can be used for tournament entry so I don't have to sink more money in. Only being able to play in tournaments a few times a week is a bummer though.

I wouldn't say BTE is a trap, but it definitely locks you into an all-in type of list in R/g. I agree Skarrg Guildmage could prove to be a powerful mana sink, and isn't a terrible body by himself.

If it had haste it'd be leagues better. As it is it's in direct competition with 4-drops that have huge board presence the turn they hit the battlefield. Not only that but it's a huge tempo loss if they put it on top of your library with azorius charm.
