Maybe I misread Populate, but does it only copy *one* token per activation?
Yup, the ability copies a token you already have, nothing plural, just copies oooonnneee token. I can see why people are upset about it, but it's not a mechanic to lean your deck on, rather it's a useful utility ability that is going to help in a pinch and perhaps just beef your field a little. It's nothing overwhelming.
Honestly, I love new Niv-Mizzet. Old Niv was a general with dozens of fraudulent combos that made him a bore to play with or against because of how non-interactive he was. New Niv is powerful, but not as intrinsically broken as the Firemind was, and possibly more importantly is a far more interactive character.
/playing EDH for fun
Very very excited to see new Rakdos and Selesnya leaders.
edit: Dracogenius is a terrible word
I'm not sure. You can play Niv-Mizzet casually, this new one just seems inferior in every way, but then again, time will tell.
I know a good few of you here play Kaalia (at least a couple), and I've spoken to 3drinks alot while building my Kaalia deck, but now I want to as the general public.
How many +6 CMC creatures should I play in the Kaalia deck? I find me self not having the mana to hardcast my guys when my group almost unnaturally* freaks out about Kaalia coming out.
*I know any hate on Kaalia is well deserved
Here is every +6CMC Demon/Angel/Dragon I play. Too much?
I don't know how to come at this topic, but I will say that my friend started playing Arcum Dagsonall the time and I am just sick of it and I don't really want to play with him.
Personally, I voted for Sigarda. She's the best in my situation because since I'm starting school again, i'm going to be playing against alot of Saccy Sac decks, and I am tired as hell of sacrificing my junk to my opponents.
Hi All, I have just started playing my very lovely Ashling the Pilgrim deck and quickly came to realize something (that I had already known). Red SUCKS against enchantments.
What ways do you have that can handle them?
Currently I am looking at Lux Cannon, Worldfire (doesn't exactly count), I would rather not run ratchet bomb, but I may if I need to.
If that Jace seems interesting, might I suggest a very special card to people. It's called Scroll Rack, and Peek.
If it's real, then annoyed. This is the 4th Jace already, and Jace is an annoying character to focus on. Gimme more cool planeswalkers already.
Okay, thing about Scroll Rack though is that Miracle has made its price jump from 12 to 30, though new planeswalkers usually start at 30-40.
Peek is cool but an ability on a planeswalker is almost always better.
I don't mean to defend Jace to strongly though, this version seems very underwhelming in EDH, and a little more tailored to the Standard Environment with miracle, unless Izzet's keyword has to do with the top deck.

I'm working on getting a Rakdos from a friend of mine, and Iona is a little bit too much for me to spend on this casual side deck project of mine.

Lmao that's a pretty good one.
I hate how they worded the "new" Niv, you can't even combo with Curiosity or Tandem Lookout in standard

Odric is by far my favorite of the new legends.
I want to thank you very deeply for saying Worldfire is for enchantment removal, it made me laugh so much that I drew a comic about it.
Off topic, not making fun of you or anything, it was just awesome
