Sharuum, the Hegemon.
It has everything: 5/5 body with evasion, a good ETB ability, blanks doom blade/go for the throat/bolt, and a signature combo with metamorph/sculpting steel for wins.
As a commander, it also gives access to blue black, two of the strongest colors in the format, and white for controlling the board.
It has been my commander for the past 3 years. and it will continue to be <3
Is there a time where I can tap desecration to mill after an opponent has made the choice to sacrifice?
You can then choose which card to cast.
708.6a An effect that performs a positive comparison (such as asking if a card is red) or a relative comparison (such as asking if a card’s converted mana cost is less than 2) involving characteristics of one or more split cards in any zone other than the stack gets only one answer. This answer is “yes” if either side of each split card in the comparison would return a “yes” answer if compared individually.
I.e., Do we flip, take damage, flip, take damage... end; or do we flip, flip flip, take damage accordingly?
Thank you.
Just wondering, at a competitive REL, am I allowed to call a judge at start of the turn and ask him/her to keep track of the storm count while I go off?
Case 1:
I control Ajani Vengeant, Solemn Simulacrum, Sword of Feast and Famine, Fireshrieker, and 7 untapped red/white lands. (My general was Aurelia, the Warleader, which was not on the table.)
Opponent #2 has: a Lazav, Dimir Mastermind as a copy of Temporal Adept, many untapped lands, but only 2 lands that can produce blue.
Opponent #3 has: Overabundance.
Nothing else is noteworthy.
During my pre-combat main phase, I activated my ajani vengeant, targeting one of player #2's blue source. player #2 responded by floating 2 blue mana. At which point I passed my priority, and wanted to go into combat.
Player #2 declared that at the end of the pre-combat main phase, he will use Temporal Adept's ability to return Overabundance to its owner's hand. The ability resolves.
I then proclaimed that I can tap four lands and equip my solemn simulacrum with sword and fireshrieker, since it is still my main phase and stack is empty. My opponents all disagreed and said the timing only allows me to do instant-speed actions.
Was I correct?
We argued for a while, then player #2 said we should get on with game. So we assumed my actions were legal and Solemn Simulacrum was successfully equipped with both equipments. Which brings up case #2
I then tries to attack player #1 with the Solemn Simulacrum (with Sword of Feast and Famine and Fireshrieker). In the declare attackers step, player #2 casted Sudden Spoiling, targeting me.
After sudden spoiling resolves, what are the "stats" of my Solemn Simulacrum? Is it just a vanilla 0/2 that gains no bonuses from the equipments? Or is it a 2/4 with no abilities, and still gains triggers from the sword? Or is it a 2/4 double strike, protection from black and green, and all "on-hit" abilities from sword? (obviously it doesn't have the enter-the-battlefield and die trigger)
Again, sorry for long text, and thanks in advance.
To be honest, it wasn't that big of a deal that the manager played. Other people still had a clear shot to win the arsenal. And if I remembered correctly, the manager ended up splitting the arsenal with second place. Most other contestants also received various prizes as well (the maze of ith was given away to a relatively new player, and several cards from the arsenal was given away to other participants). If the manager really was trying to "rig" the tournament and going to maximum personal gain, he would've just taken the arsenal entirely for himself.
The format of the contest was announced quite a few weeks prior, and it was not difficult to speculate that the dominating decks will be some kind of combo (the second place was running a Sharuum the Hegemon combo).
having worldfire in knowledge pool, cast a instant/sorcery. talrand and knowledge pool trigger at same time. resolve knowledge pool trigger first. cast worldfire. talrand trigger//resolve. then worldfire resolve. then talrand trigger resolves for your first spell. getting you a drake.
alternatively, with geistflame in graveyard, you can cast geistflame from your graveyard (which does not trigger the pool), and in response cast an instant to cast worldfire from knowledge pool.
This was the first manga I read, and also later became the first anime I ever watched. Although I have to say that the anime left out alot in the manga, it still is decent enough to attract me into the world of animes
4. Ano Hana
The name of this anime is loooooongggggg... (look it up yourself), but the anime itself is elegant and beautiful. This story really reminded me the "good old days" when I was in school and didn't have to care about anything.
3. Ef. - A Tale of Melodies
It really should be Clannad - Afterstory here, but I really enjoy ef's art style over clannad. This anime changed how I look at Christmas , and that's all I can say about the series... But, like Clannad, looking back I find the first season (A tale of memories) quite "meh" tho.
2. Higurashi When They Cry
Oh the nightmares this anime bought me... Of all the horror animes I watched, this really made me cry, both of scare and happiness. This anime really defines what I understand as WTF and OMFG. =3 Never the less, it was great
1. Fate/Zero
Seriously, the best anime series by far. =) It saddens me that no one has mentioned this anime. Ofc, the series ended last weekend, but I still expected more people to watch this... If you enjoy sad stories and splashy effects... I highly recommend it.
Honorable mentions:
Kara no Kyoukai - The anime I will never fully understand.
Air + Kanon + Clannad - The 3 purely tear-gas animes...
boku no pico. ok, I'm kidding on this. dont watch this. please.
{3}{U} Sorcery (R)
Target opponent exiles cards from the top of his or her library until he or she exiles a nonland card. Until end of turn, you may cast that card without paying its mana cost.
obviously, this card is not good enough to warrant a insta-slam first pick in draft, but is it good enough to at least make it into a sealed blue deck, considering the slow and grindy format with big flashy spells running all over the place?
What is your opinion on this card?
