@Cubby- yes Daniel and Zyrnak are the same person. He’s also Zyrn on Reddit. Two days of just plowing through his videos will teach you a ton. You can also search the subreddit AffinityForArtifacts and in the Info sidebar they have links to all of the actually decent affinity articles (most of them are garbage).
@FitzRolf - my humans plan is honestly out 1 jar in 1 Champion on the draw, on the play I also bring in 2 whipflare over 1 memnite 1 Pest. Daniel doesn’t think it’s worth SBing much but knocking freebooters out of the sky can be the different between winning the sky race and getting crushed by X/2 blockers. And gotcha, I cant believe I didn’t notice that 😂
I find the human match up can be hard if they get meddling mages and phantasmal images...things can get out of hand quick. I usually need a platted vault Skirge to get me back. But I'm also still very new to the deck. Could be misplays. I have a winning record vs humans..but it can be close alot
Interesting. I was considering Hazoret a few weeks ago... there's a lot to like about her indestructible hastey body and extra reach but she's really awkward in hands with Reveler. Options:
1) Cast Reveler first forcing you to pitch your curve-topping Hazoret
2) Cast Hazoret first, followed by Reveler -- drawing 3 can turn off Hazoret's "heckbent" ability
I like option 2. It will be fun to discard extra lands for 2 dmg.
so iv been playing this deck on MTGO all weekend and i cant seem to get a handle on the deck . I own it in real life and i like it alot ,i come from playing jund for over a year along with abzan and other mid range decks and that may be the problem . I have a hard time closeing games out before other decks do the modern thing . i guess im saying the deck feels real slow compared to other decks .
ha that's flattering but unfortunately my full time job wouldn't allow me to do that. It has been a pet project (goal?) of mine to make some gameplay videos though, and I have been marking games I find to be incredible/remarkable for one reason or another when I log games. So maybe I'll make it a goal to make some Grishoalbrand videos within this year..
Yes yes yes!
Yeah you should post some videos man..it's really hard to find a video that you can actually see some plays from a player that's already used to the deck..most videos i see are noobs that you can't learn anything that you can use on a competitive tournament..on that note what do you usually board out on the eldrazitron matchup?..is blood moon even worth it?..most of them are packing maps & minds stones..
I thought this deck had a good eldrazi tron match up..its one of the reasons I'm interested in it. does it not? I thought we ate the deck for dinner and were happy to see it.
Are there any good video I can see of ppl playing this deck? I've seen some of Bob Huangs old SCG stuff, but id like to see some things from the current meta. Any streamers? Besides jeff hoogland..hes annoying to me.
Yeah, if you try to splice a targetted spell into an untargetted spell, modo can't handle it. It's really frustrating as that's how I like to beat spell Queller.
I saw recently Jaberwocki went 5 0 with a UB midrange deck. And I saw a thread on Reddit if a guy only losing 1 game at at PPTQ or whatever. I think the deck is still good. Just less so all in on the pirate synergy.
Top 8 Matches were R1 against Rakdos DW, not the zombies build but something weird with Rakdos, Lord of Riots, R2 was Reanimator, R3 was Junk Tokens. Somewhat uneventful, 2-0 each round. I can give more detailed info if anyone is interested.
I will say I would much rather not play Scour. It screws me over almost as much as it helps. I tried a Scour free build on Friday, almost identical to the 50k winner. Sadly, that list and I didn't get along so well.
Id love to hear some more details and how you sideboarded.
I was hoping to get some advice from Kamahl, theLuke, and Cahoots. I recently went to a new LGS, and its bigger, and more competitive, and was full of Thragtusks, Huntmasters, and Angel of Serenity. Lots of Ramp decks, and control, with some combo and G/x aggro mixed it. I was wondering what an ideal list would be to take in a Meta like this. I am not the best deck builder, but would love some advice. Thanks guys. Hopefully you can help me out.

And a sideboard guide coming next week. I'll be trying out this updated list tonight and keeping the play tips from the article in mind

What's your list look like?

I've seen that too lol. I guess I meant someone that streams often.
How does this beat Queller? Splicing is new to me
