welcome back DA. I liked Sociology a lot and joined a sociology club when I was in there for a semester at the University of a Thousand Asians.

... are these Asians -[MALE]-? Mmmmm... *fancy = tickled!*

I'm going to ask this again... Where and how do you find a guy?! I'ms tarting to get into this weird state where I believe I'll be the grouchy old man in a house shooting at children who try to get their ball back from my yard... With a shotgun... Filled with peanuts...

    GoArmy.com

... heh, more seriously, my current boyfriend, I actually knew prior as a "friend / acquaintance" for about four years. Through the fifth year, we started to get to be really good, really close... and -[then]-, I found out he was bisexual. How? He was interested in me... well, I was very interested in him, too, but I never would've acted since I thought he was straight. But what do ya know, a few phone calls later, many hour plus long chats online seven days a week, and now... we've been datin' for seven months, heh. Whoo!

... yes, it's a long distance relationship, but we have met, we get along wonderfully (even in a case like the above dispute, we still 'kiss and make up'), and we both share a lot of the same ideas, beliefs, views, morals... erm, -[things]- for the relationship. Yeah! So... that's my story, this time, I s'pose.

Otherwise, I've always been an online person, though, so many of my hook-ups have been through the internet, oddly (or coincidentally?) enough. That said, mySpace.com -[does]- work, to an extent. Even a message board like this one ( o.O ), perhaps, but I mainly say so, 'cause building a strong bond before stepping into a relationship is important to me, moreso than just saying "I want a mate, love me!"

    ... erm, yeah! ... ^^;; ...

That said, this is actually the only relationship I've been in where -[I]- made the move to become "lovers" (all other times, I was asked) ... and, as it goes, there's tons more back story, but this should sum it up. Kekeke I'd asked him sooner, had I known sooner, but... well, yeah, y'know... secrecy and stuff.

[I]Please don't tell my secrets, keep them hidden...
(You got it, you got it, you got it...)[/I]

    O>=D

And thanks! Whoo, another post already!

Thing Numero Uno: (Only Jason and I sitting on the bench observing the others play at basketball, lunchtime) I ask Jason "What's up?" repeatedly with no informative response. After awhile of asking, he points at his crotch and says "That isn't."

I would've taken that as just a 'joke', in a sense, if that makes any. Personally, if any of my friends said that, I wouldn't have read too much into it... kinda like, "how's it hangin'?" ... just something. My opinion. OMG

People turn round to look at us and I manage to blurt out a quick "Eww..." and pull away before people get suspicious. I pull myself up to look at Stuart in the eyes, but I could hear him seem joyful about it and Jael asking him "didn't you just...", and he answered "Yeah it was..." I couldn't hear the rest. Whatever.

My first question would be, if you know whether he -[is]- or -[isn't]-? Maybe I haven't been keeping up, but... the way you describe his look at you, kinda throws me a lil'. He could've just been playin' 'round, and got a kick out of your reaction. -[But]- if he is "that way," I suppose it could've been slightly suggestive... though certainly not the right place, setting, or timing for it. Sounds like another joke to me, but again, depending on the individual...

Oookay... clearly, being both -[absent]- and incapable of becoming -[mainstream]- ... erm, huh? ... has had some seriously -[detrimental]- effects on my ability to participate in these threads!

That, and while I was going to read the entire thread before my first class, noticing that it had twelve pages after it took me more than it should have to read the -[first]- one was... erm... not very reassuring of my free time count. Eep!

So, in terms of what I -[did]- read, I will attempt to answer... which isn't much, I'm afraid, but ya gotta start somewhere.

    -------

#1 -- I'm gay; considered bisexuality, but I was never into the female anatomy sexually at all. Then, after being with a few women or so, I discovered that it's even a turn-off, at some points. The male anatomy, on the other hand, gets to me in my -[thoughts]-, let alone my -[hands]-... raaaaawr!

    -------

#2 -- Jon Stewart > Stephen Colbert > The other third guy who was mentioned that I can't bothered to remember for obvious reasons.

    -------

#3 -- I didn't watch the Oscars, personally, but my boyfriend did raise an "issue" with me over Brokeback Mountain. Really, like Mike said, "those with political agendas tend to make things more political than they really are"... or something like that... erm, my b/f and I got into a slightly heated argument, over what BBM was apparently 'promoting' and how politics was 'viewing' or 'handling' it today... we did apologize after the small dispute, but the part that bothers me the most? HE HASN'T EVEN SEEN THE MOVIE!!! Le sigh indeed...

    -------

#4 -- Happy -[Belated]- Birthdays to both *Nick* -[and]- *Mike*!

    -------

#5 -- In a forum based sense, I don't really play M:tG, as much as I think or write about it. Does that make sense? I get my kicks for deck construction, building, planning... and I have less fun, actually playing. Makes me not wanna bother, sometimes; that, and I spent way too much money on Guildpact. (Something I'm only now noticing, after discovering how disappointed I actually am with the set. Or at least, for the fact that it gave me -[absolutely nothing]- to work with, for my favored deck archetypes.)

    -------

In my personal news, I'll speak on college. Takin' 15 units of Music courses (finally movin' towards my Major!) and 1 unit of Physical Education this term, while tryin' to do part-time / semi-full-time work at Target as... well, whatever they want to schedule me as these days. @_@ I was totally acing at the beginning of the semester, but I'm sure we all know how -[that]- goes... ¬_¬

Musically, I've started gettin' into some more modern, "today" bands, for lack of a better word. Panic! At The Disco is the latest band. The single ("I Write Sins Not Tragedies") hooked me in -[so]- bad, that I spontaneously went out and bought the CD. And y'know what? While it's a good CD, they're not as good as Fall Out Boy. And that said, I have a feeling that they would be pretty *bad* in a live setting -- doesn't sound like concert music at all. o.O And on the concert note, I'll be seein' Coheed And Cambria + Avenged Sevenfold on April 27th! WHOO!!!

I recently picked up Guitar Hero for the PS2... and rocked my mind senseless for about a week straight. Then deleted my entire file to do it over again. Huh? o.O Don't ask me, awesome games will make me do that... unfortunately, I don't have the free time to replay it now like I did a week ago. Dangit! ... c'mon, Spring Break!

... On that note, when is everyone's Spring Break (if ya still have one of those)? ... it'll be March 20th to March 24th, for me (not including the Sat. / Sun. both before and at the end of the week, as well as that previous Friday, for which I'm not required to attend class, nor do I work on Fridays, ever!).

And... erm... don't know what else to say. Current plans with my boyfriend, are for him to come out and visit my family here in CA sometime in the Summer... when, not sure, how long, don't know yet, hoping somewhere between two weeks to a month. But that said, just celebrated -[Seven Months]- at the very end of February. Yay! ... and now, I really just don't know what else to say.

Howdy, folks? ... I'm tryin' to come back? ... O>=D

    Yeah, protection prevents DEBT:
    Damage
    Enchant/Equip
    Blocking
    Targetting

The difference is that while neither Wrath nor Pyro target, Pyro deals damage.

So wait, Paladin en-Vec also evades Savage Twister? I may need to pick up a revised rule book or something...

(Speaking of which, how come they don't package those with the cards / game anymore?)

I know you were looking for the next-best-thing, but I think we all see the difference here.

I played this deck at States, and for a while after. Although not exactly tier 1, it is still the fastest clock in the format. This deck needs to speed up if it's having problems, not slow down. The only thing it has going for it is speed.

If Pyroclasm gives you problems, maindeck 4 Paladin en-Vec. There's no realy answer to Wrath other than if you know you're facing it, only throw out a few guys at a time and throw down the Jitte. I don't think Ghostway belongs in Constructed Magic, but I may be proven wrong. I'm no expert.

Heh, yeah, Sunforger was -really- pushing it...

And if I remember correctly -- or know my rulings at all -- I'm pretty sure Paladin en-Vec still falls to Pyroclasm, 'cause the "Pro-Red" ability is only in effect when the creature is specifically targeted by a Red card. Pyroclasm doesn't specifically target it, and hits every creature on the board instead -- akin to how "Pro-White" creatures don't evade Wrath of God.

Unless I've got my wordings off...

If anyone would like to disagree on any of the above cards being "worthwhile" for the deck, or would like to add additional cards to the list, simply say so, and I can edit it later.

You don't actually need both the horror and phantasm out ASAP. Just one of them will do. Not many decks can deal with a turn 2 7/7 or a turn 3 4/6 unblockable, barring bounce and counters. (Creature destruction of you count the phantasm.) Also, last I heard, T2 has these wonderful dual-coloured lands like Watery Grave and Underground River.

Not to mention the lesser Tendo Ice Bridge, or even Waterveil Cavern, if you're that way inclined.

I'll just state this -- I will be seeing this, no matter what, opening night, first chance I get, whether in a group or alone, 'cause the trailers look great, the feeling and atmosphere of just the "beginning vision" is awesome and more authentic than the Resident Evil movies (although they ripped aspects from every game and didn't bother establishing a plot to connect them with it). I can't wait!!!

    ...

    I just wish Harry was gonna be there, saying: "Have you seen a little girl around here? Short, black hair... my daughter." ... mmm... ^^;;

The recent release of Hissing Miasma in Guildpact is what has finally brought this to my attention, though there are plenty of other cards in other sets that fall under the same question. My apologies if this seems ridiculous or simplistic.

"Whenever a creature attacks you, its controller loses 1 life."

Does he lose 1 life for the entire combat phase, in that any creature is attacking whatsoever, or does he lose 1 life for -each- creature that attacks? (For example, does my opponent lose -ONE- life or -THREE- life for attacking with his 3x Suntail Hawks?)

    ---

Another example, as follows within Underworld Dreams:

"Whenever an opponent draws a card, Underworld Dreams deals 1 damage to him or her."

Does he take 1 damage for drawing any cards period, or does he take 1 damage for -each- card drawn? (For example, does my opponent take -ONE- damage for drawing any number of cards from the destroyed Hatching Plans, or -THREE- damage for drawing three cards?)

    ---

    Thanks in advance!

    "Adapt or die."

It is a hard yet simple thing to accept the responsibility of digging up the six feet deep grave for my R/W deck, but in all fairness, I do agree pretty much on every level here. In terms of my own decklist, it already faced the problems you've listed in your post against pre-GP decks, with anything packin' G/W bein' a commonplace for an auto-loss without the right amount of burn (and even then, it also calls for the opponent's wrong amount of life gain). All things considered, I regret nothing, but until I get some real insight, the deck seems more ready to die than adapt. But who knows...

My mentality changes when I've got actual cards in my hands, versus spoilers listings.

Bravo to the post, though, to say the least.

    Well, I know I've been gone for a lil' bit, maybe? On that note, hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, and / or whichever holiday the lot of ya were celebrating. And Happy Holidays as well, of course! ^^;;

I didn't do much or get much for Christmas -- my beau sent me Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith on DVD (Fullscreen, which I promptly exchanged at Target for Widescreen, >_>) and the 'must-read sequel', The Rise of Darth Vader. My mother got me the three manga for .hack // Legend of the Twilight, and my eldest sister gave me $45. My brother and his g/f got me The Princess Bride on DVD, and the 'prequel', Angels & Demons. And that was about it, really. Had fun, and it wasn't as bad as I originally made it out to be, to myself (I have a habit of exaggerating the worst and not letting the best live up to its actual nature, or something).

Goin' to ride that plane to be with my b/f in less than a week! Flyin' out on New Year's... wish me luck. And pray for me, too, if I may ask that. ^^;; ... if I haven't said it before, I'm afraid of heights and I'm afraid of flying -- as such, I've done neither before, yet I'm goin' this one alone. X_X I hope and believe everything will be all right, though. Smile

That said, if anyone wants to offer any suggestions for what I should bring with me, take with me, or anything like that, etc. I'd [really] appreciate it. I'm not gettin' much help from my dad (the only parent I live with), so I'm doin' all my preparations alone right now. Oof. Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there now.

Take care, everyone! Here's to another post... umm... sooner than later. O>=D

    The combo:

    http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/feature/302
(Perilous Forays + Seed the Land + Stone-Seeder Hierophant)

Birds of Paradise and Llanowar Elves are for mana production and acceleration. Carven Caryatid, Kavu Climber, Primordial Sage, and Verduran Enchantress are all for drawpower, but clearly double over as creatures. Doubling Season empowers the number of tokens produced psychotically via Seed the Land.

Coat of Arms boosts every other Snake token being produced via Seed the Land (doubled via Doubling Season) insanely. Defense Grid is for stopping counter decks, same as Dosan the Falling Leaf, for avoiding those "end of turn, combo screw-up, plan foilers" or anything like that. Flame Fusillade is a win / kill condition, considering the insane number of permanents to be in play after the combo goes off, that 20 damage should be easy to pull off. Hair-Strung Koto is also a win / kill condition, goin' via mill style, although 53 or so is a lot harder to do than 20, which is why it's also comboed with Natural Affinity, giving us an insane amount of creatures on top of the rest. Privileged Position is for protecting all other parts and pieces of the combos. Soulblast is another win / kill condition, sacrificing for one big blast (used in combo with Defense Grid or Dosan the Falling Leaf to combo counter decks) -- which could get even more ridiculous big after a Natural Affinity (but that's also a ridiculous method of suicide).

Any responses, thoughts, suggestions, criticism, advice, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!
