Do you guys ever watch a movie and then realize that it parallels your life? Yeah I watched 40 year old virgin again today and... well I of course think the movie is funlarious, but... a third of the way through I just got sooooo depressed about it. And it's not the sex part, it's the relationship part. And I don't want any advice or sympathy I was just kinda wondering if anyone ever felt like that.

Yes. To answer the question, anyway -- I can't really specify a single movie. Though I seem to relate to Kevin Smith Films a lot; Dogma, more than the others. Huh.

Obviously, the "700K to 3K" matter freakin' sucks.

On the other hand, I'm 19 today, or "officially" as of 12:31pm PST. Whoo?

    ... off to work! ^_^()

These things can be labelled bi-curiousity, homoflexibility, heteroflexibility, etc. That the true marker of bisexuality was that the person isn't just sexually attracted to both sexes, but that they were emotionally available to both sexes as well. Which struck me as fairly apt.

That kinda confuses me. "Emotionally Available"? 'Cause I am, in a sense, seeing as how my "best-best" friend is female, and I'm the one she (99.8%) turns to for emotional support, for understanding, for conversation, for all the stuff she says that most of her 'girlfriends' can't do in the same fashion or manner that I do, or even some of her actual boyfriends... being unable to relate or understand in the "emotional" sense. Or perhaps I'm misinterpreting it?

When I think sexuality, I think [sexually] -- as such, if defined by [sexual] attraction, my [sexual] desires are for men, males, etc. But it's nothing against women -- I just can't explain why they don't get my blood flowin' and juices goin'. Hmm.

I believe in the "not a choice" option? Erm... personally, though I have accepted and am perfectly comfortable, living the life I live -- which, if I haven't stated, is one of homosexuality, not bisexuality -- this isn't the lifestyle I particularly "wanted." But I can't speak scientifically, so I try and look at it from a more social, more "logical" point of view...

I mean, take a look at the world, the politics, the religions, etc. Whether it's misguided or not, misinterpreted or not, anyone in the "GBLT" factions is considered an 'outcast to society' on so many levels. Marriage, adoption, etc. Who -chooses- that lifestyle? Who -chooses- to deal with the abuse and pain and suffering of living in fear and being afraid of who they can talk to or who they can be around, for the majority of their lives?

... well, that's one approach I've considered and taken before. The one I personally stick with, though, is that -- and a [huge] no offense to anyone else -- but I did [not] choose to be attracted to men. If I was given a choice between heterosexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality... I really don't know which I'd choose. The first two, however, seem akin to one and the same, in terms of "yeah, I can pretend to -not- be that way." But I also hate lying, and...

I'm still not sure if I'm jealous of bisexuals, or just heavily confused by bisexuals. No offense again, but like I'm noting, I don't believe in the "choice" option, and I don't understand how one can be attracted to both genders. In a way, I don't understand what attracts me to the same gender.

However, don't misunderstand me -- I will state that, if given the choice [now], I would -not- change my sexuality. I think of all the people in my life, and the ones that are the most important and most meaningful and most sentimental to me... they are all male. The females, yeah, they're awesome, but the ones that I can really imagine taking care of for the rest of my life... or would even -want- to... yeah, the men. (This may have to do with my praise of women, though, and how I feel an independant woman is just really cool, or something.)

But when it comes to males I care about; not even specifically sexually, y'know? But... I'm more comfortable with the idea of being the support or helper of a male rather than a female (as noted above). And for someone to take care of me, or to shelter me? ... I really wouldn't want to burden a woman with such a responsibility; not to throw it on a man, either, but it's also more... comfortable, more familiar, you could say. That, and it speaks a lot, to break those stereotypes of "masculinity," if ya will.

    ...

Okay, not going anywhere with this, so I'm done.

Cam: I'm hoping this time around things will be a little different. If not then you need to start going out with people that are already out of the closet or you'll get the reputation of turning everyone gay Wink

My ex-girlfriend has that reputation, actually... Oops?

But hey, she dated another gay man before me! XD

Just somethin' in her attracts closet cases, I guess. o.O

    XD

On that note, I remember buyin' WoW just so I could play with my b/f. That plan didn't work out too well. ( D: ) But then again, WoW is still a pretty fun, all on its own! ... just that I think it'd be more fun in a group or party. 'Course, I never got to be -in- a group, but... y'know... oof... >_<

Business Administration project due Friday -- and I haven't started yet! That, and more college and working, blah blah... gah, it's one thing to view life as a routine... the only thing that gives life -- umm, life -- are the people you have and know. Yeah.

    ... I'm tired. Night! ^^;;

Happy Halloween, for everyone today! ... yeah, I don't care if it's only 9:00am PST, I work today and that's that, heh. ^^;; And at the same time, it's also the three-month anniversary for me and my b/f... erm, is that correct grammar? ... ahh, well.

    I'm tired, but I also want to say that I miss having soda; I sporadically have diet soda, but more often than not, it's either milk, water, or "carbonated / flavored" water. Is that supposed to be good for you? Anyway, there are dozens and dozens of soda cans lying around here that I've gotta crush for my own recycling, but it's funny (and a lil' sad) to say that none of them were mine! ^^;;

Halloween + Diet =/= Good Eats. Oof, all that candy, I see every minute, and yet none will (or should!) be touching these lips... gah. Ahh, well. Hope everyone's Halloween festivities and activities are good, fun, and safe (to at least some extent)! ... and I guess I never have much to say here, so...

I'm finally playing FFVI, after puttin' it off for so long. It's a good game, actually. So far, my favorite scene was in the Opera House... the entire musical opera theme, y'know. Or if ya don't, least this ain't much of a spoiler! But it also reminds me that I need to actually play Radiata Stories and -get- somewhere... bought it on the day of its release, and barely even touched it!

Bah, college and / or work almost every day of the week... 24/7/365 isn't long enough! And... now I'm tired, so that ends this spontaneous post. Whoo!

And hey, I also have a WoW account! It's not currently activated, though, since I don't have my own comp to play on, nor am I willing to pay the $15 just to play for one or two hours a week... bah. But if anyone's interested, the character name is Katherina. She's a Human Female Warlock, and I'm on the Feathermoon (RP) server. Yeah, heh. Don't expect to see me anytime soon, no matter what, though. Ahh, well... that's life!

I'm actually waitin' for .hack // FRAGMENT right now... can't wait to play it! Ooo, I love me some .hack... Grin ... "and that, as they say, is that."

P.S.- The reason I use Kami of Ancient Law as opposed to Niko is easy. It's a 2/2 for 1w. Plus, I don't have many spirit/arcanes to reuse Niko. Ancient Law allows me to stack damage and sac it if neccessary to blow up the enchantment I want. I found it to be the best for what I need.

Not many Spirits / Arcanes? Nikko-Onna [is] a Spirit! 'Sides, I recommended 4x Lantern Kami for a reason. They are -also- Spirits. Wink Heck, I've been thinkin' 'bout SBing Nikko-Onna over Leave No Trace... it's not at instant speed, sadly, but hey, it's consistent enchantment removal! And doesn't pop my own Anthems, [and] is a creature. Hmm...

[Edit] Actually, I just realized that I -didn't- mention replacing the 4x Suntail Hawk with 4x Lantern Kami. My bad. >_<

Even though you didn't ask, I thought it was a good story. ::grins:: Good to know some people turn away from the dark side. ;P Yes, another reason I could never have been ummm... not-sXe (what does that other acronym mean?), as I couldn't ever part with my hard-saved money. Even though now college is taking that money and ripping it all away... yaay...

@Eras: Very gay, but cute. Wink

hXc = hardcore. As I think I said before, I believe it [probably] refers more to the music genre than the lifestyle that goes with it, but in association... sXe (vs) hXc, is the way I view it. ^^;; But yes, college steals everyone's money... oof... then again, it wouldn't if I had Financial Aid, but being a dependant and having an irresponsible, unreliable dad... >_<

Oh, but yes, nowhere did I say that Eras' intense "gayness" was [not] cute! Heh. :p So I agree with xepel here. Whoo!

Out of curiosity, where exactly did the Genju bit kinda come into consideration? I thought it was already discussed it's rather useless, for the above reasons, and the random "It sucks" was kinda...odd and VERY out of place. Not to mention no reasonable backing behind the statement. Take the time to say WHY you think something is horrible next time. For the benefit of everyone.

If g/W Aggro has over-powered beats, then the only answer(s) I can think of are Devouring Light, ***, and at the very least Faith's Fetters, though this is a bit desperate. A RFG spell (Devouring Light) would work best against those pesky Hierarchs, but *** also gets rid of em, so mass removal seems to be most efficient...alas, at the cost of your own creatures. My answer would be ***...destroy everything and hope like hell to rebuild quicker than they do.

    ~JoInTsMoKa~

Not sure if that first part is directed at me or not, 'cause I think we're reading or interpreting responses differently...? o.O

But yeah, if the deck had just a -little- [consistent] draw power, Wrath of God would be more reasonable, since you could hopefully recooperate somewhat quickly... (and this makes Mikokoro, Center of the Sea look pretty good, actually) ... but Faith's Fetters, yeah, I really don't know 'bout that one. MD or SB? ... though it does handle a lot more than -just- creatures, if ya need it to.

I'm not sure if there's been any conclusion or final decision as to which guild will appear in each set... if there is, I apologize for this post. Otherwise, based on the images, this is the only deduction I've come to:

    Ravnica -- U/B, G/W, R/W, G/B
    Guildpact -- U/R, W/B, R/G
    Dissension -- B/R, W/U, U/G

Or does anyone else know for sure? Based on the "ideas" of the set names, I first thought that two enemy-color guilds would appear in Dissension, with two ally-color guilds being in Guildpact... but then again, even the enemy-color guilds are "allied within themselves," so I decided against that possibility, and just went with what I thought the lil' symbols of each guild looked like...

With [Rakdos] in Dissension, that places B/R in Set #3. The *tri-force* looking symbol makes me think about the Azorius Senate, in some sense of balance... not sure, but the left one looks like both waves and vines (think Tsunami, maybe?) to me...

And in figuring out one of the other two blocks, that leaves the last three guilds in the unknown one... of course...

    What do you guys think? Any ideas? (And / or links to the [answers], heh?) ... ^^;;

*looks at the signature above him* ... o-oh... XD

This build basically wins by having bigger, better creatures, no? 'Cause I tested my R/W Aggro (incomplete build) against a G/W Aggro deck, and yeah, I admit, the deck was smashing face... but I also noticed that the only reason my opponent won his games was due to having Umezawa's Jitte in play -- that, and I *don't* own any to play with (or didn't, at that time -- yay for 1x Jitte now, so far!). But that in mind, and takin' into account how I personally went with in a R/W Aggro build...

Clearly not playtested at all, but it's more a "R/W Aggro with internal trading" than a tested / ready build. Somethin' to consider, though.

yea sure. I run more red heavy build with more burn than creatures...and he wins me one out of every 3 games. He is useful early game for a quick 3rd turn 6 dmg (happens only occasionally). The real fun comes in the late game when you cast wrath and swing next turn, burning any blockers he might have played between the wrath and now. Sometimes its nice to just keep him in your hand until your opponent taps his creatures out, then cast and swing hard the next turn.
I am also testing a more typical build and im not liking him as much.

You run Wrath of God in your R/W Aggro? ... doesn't that kinda make it a lil' more R/W Control-esque? o.O Though I get your reasoning behind why he's [ridiculous], it also sounds extra circumstantial... and, like I said, the idea of playing the "wrath" also constitutes no creatures of your own. (And a -lot- of mana, for the idea of playing "wrath" and [then] playing / activating your "genju" in the same turn, no?)

    Re-posting...

One of the most important things to note, probably, is the lack of first turn drops, and the "repetitive" 2/2 that spreads across every single creature. Night of Souls' Betrayal doesn't kill alone anymore, in that regard, and is essentially nullified when placed against Glorious Anthem. Hideous Laughter is also slightly negated with just a single Glorious Anthem in play.

Putrefy, Last Gasp, and Rend Flesh can't hit Hand of Honor or Paladin en-Vec. They also run through Kagemaro, First to Suffer and Kokusho, the Evening Star (assuming that there was any intent to even block in that manner, of course). In addition, Paladin en-Vec is also safe against a mirror of Char, Lightning Helix, and the like.

Umezawa's Jitte will, of course, cancel in the mirror, but when it doesn't, if it's not on one of the two protected, evasive creatures, then there's no problem flying over and smashing face with it on Leonin Skyhunter or Skyknight Legionnaire, another pair of somewhat evasive creatures.

In the same manner, Isamaru, Hound of Konda does its own lil' canceling effect in the mirror, but if it's not put to shame, it's still a great, safe 2/2 for only a single W. It can easily run into a Sakura-Tribe Elder, too, unlike those other lions.

Char and Lightning Helix help with both creature removal and pickin' off those last few points of life, and even work well with each other (read: "gain 1 life"). Devouring Light also removes blockers, and at the same time potential threats swingin' towards us, like anything thrown in our face via Tooth and Nail (but then again, we've probably got bigger boulders on our shoulders at that point).

Samurai of the Pale Curtain stops most recursion effects, as you would have it, as well as any potential "mirrors" of Promise of Bunrei (though that's not the primary enemy here).

    As for the Sideboard...

Hokori, Dust Drinker is in to take care of some of those "bigger boulders" I just mentioned in the previous paragraph, as well as smack down any 'reaction' deck (or those that have fun in tapping out for whatever purpose).

Ivory Mask "handles" both Cranial Extraction and Gifts Ungiven, as well as every single other threat that is directed at players (with ourselves as the intent) or opponents. (And while I don't believe it will be much of a threat at this point, I doubt the field is going to be 0% Mill.)

Leave No Trace is now in for the need of enchantment hate -- this way, I don't have to run a potentially inferior creature in the MD or the SB. At the same time, like others noted, at Instant speed, it actually works rather well in the mirror... and then [WONDERS] against any "Enduring Ideal" deck. (For example, the moment they search for Form of the Dragon... ooooo... XD)

Master Warcraft is somewhat of a "not sure what else to put in" SB decision for me. While it's excellent as either a free turn without combat phase ("none of your creatures decide to attack"), as well as a free swing or finisher ("none of your creatures decide to block"), or even to get rid of any ridiculously pesky creatures ("for some reason, your Kagemaro / Kokusho wants to run face first into my 'Hands' / Paladins / Devouring Lights"), I'm stuck with the unknown idea of what my metagame will be at this point in time, as well as the field in general. For now, it's in for combat control, but if I come across something else that just works more efficiently (Blood Moon not being the competitor), this would probably be the first option out.

Suppression Field is for the mirror, though I'm a lil' unsure as to whether or not Umezawa's Jitte should be sided out in its place in any 2nd or 3rd match-up (ridiculous question, some of you might think, but that potential life gain may be more important than the -1/-1 or +2/+2 at times, and (2) is reasonable in that regard, IMO). It also messes with Sakura-Tribe Elder, Kagemaro, First to Suffer, and the rest of the clutter that's been mentioned, as everyone would have it.

Constructive criticism would be appreciated, but any response at all is just as welcome.

Edit: Changes in bold. (Not many, I know.)

Anyone had any matches / playtests against the "new" G/W Aggro?

I faced against one recently, and... kinda had my face smashed in. X_X The beef of the G/W Aggro isn't in the spell department, but somewhat overpowers in the creature department... seriously, just a simple Watchwolf or (even worse) Loxodon Hierarch demand attention on their own... and -then- they've got Glorious Anthems of their own... any luck / ideas for this? >_<

Me too, but I've always been one.

Ahh, I'll just take the opportunity to say I don't regret "having been" hXc for the time I was, as I did learn quite a lot (read: -TONS-) about the people I had once considered my "friends" and "best buds," and over the while, experienced enough to say... well... yeah, that's not the life for me. [Especially] when your main encouragement is peer pressure and other hXc individuals with no direction in life and no interest in the future, aside from "living in the here and now, and enjoying life as much as they can" -- which, oddly enough, consisted of some hundred dollars in marijuana, a six-pack of ya favorite alcoholic beverage (the fave among the rest being Smirnoff Ice and its multitude of flavors) for each man, and... a fire made out in the open: bonfire? o.O ... okay, yeah...

But I've -really- come a long way from that lifestyle, and more or less, even at my young age, just happy to say I [didn't] screw myself up too badly. I did, however, lose just about an entire group of childhood friends (save one or two) from my decision to change, but hey, I actually -have- money these days... O>=D

Okay, I'm done answering a question that wasn't asked. Wink So on the note...

I got my Time Off Requests Approved! ... BIG CAPS here, 'cause that means I'll be able to actually -take- my vacation in January and actually be with my life for almost the entirety of the first two weeks of 2006. What a wonderful way to start off the New Year, I'll say. All I gotta do now is make sure I don't have jury duty (>_<), and overcome my doubled fear of heights -and- flying... eep...

But all worth it for him. Smile And that's all, heh. Later, y'all! Grin
