I think with the lands whilst there's some auto-includes, such as any Sol-Land you can afford, Sanctum of Ugin and so on, you can actually play pretty hard and loose and do a bit of meta-tweaking. I'm currently trying to find a space for Thaumatic Compassbut there's nothing I can find to remove.
The only thing I've changed is replacing a Wastes with an Arch of Orazca. This takes me down to six which I'm pretty okay with, although I'm debating if I want to find room for City of Traitors
A few months on, there's nothing here that doesn't quite work and manages to suit my local meta well. Against casual decks its dumb enough that people don't mind it being powerful, and against our top tier decks, it keeps pace-especially with aggressive mulligans. There's still a few cards I've not seen, but the only one I'm disappointed with is probably Inspirting Statuary-It's justt never really served a purpose whenever I've played it, but I think thats down more to luck than anything. It'd probably be the first card I'd remove if I ever get a Mox Diamond
Finally managed to get everything for the deck. Its hilarious. I've not found anything too cute, but the ramp is real. Its not feared yet-people are currently more concerned about my Sram deck than Kozi-but this deck is currently playing out awesomely at about the pace our LGS can handle.
How did this deck end up playing out? I've got most of the pieces, I just feel that there's a bit of optimization that could be done-notably with the card draw-is 4 mana really the best card draw out therE?
I'm curious about the absence of the Urzatron-I thought it would have been an obvious inclusion? Slowly building into this myself other than the really expensive things (which at present are turning into Wastes)
Modern format, I was playing U-Tron, he was playing Melira-Pod. He was arrogant because he was playing a Tier 1 deck and I couldn't even afford to play proper Tron (I actually played both RG-Tron and U-Tron depending on my mood). I won the first game by simple beatdown, the second game he managed to combo off somehow, killing me. Third game I managed to hold off and he started gloating about the cards in his deck and how I deserved to lose and how he had an infinite life combo in hand which he then played. He then went into very precise slow detail into what he was doing explaining the combo to me like I was an idiot (seriously, we're talking about repeating the combo five times) and he also explained that he had to name a number because in Magic there's no such thing as infinite, and then he passed the turn after gaining 10,000 life and telling me how there was no way I could possibly deal him that much damage in the time we had left on the round... So I played Academy Ruins, played Mindslaver, cracked Mindslaver, then recurred Mindslaver.
Is there currently a stock list on this deck? Looking to start building towards something once I've finished my current deck off (Restore Balance) and to give me an excuse to pick up more Khans fetches. I'm giving up on Verdants, I don't have that kinda cash atm.
I need a little help... I found a list I wanted to build, picked up most of the cards, and then managed to successfully lose the list. Thankfully I *think* I've got everything I need, I just need to sort the mana base. Would really appreciate the help on this. I know I've definitely seen this list somewhere else, I simply can't find where it was
As I said, it does seem to be just the mana base I'm short on, I just really can't recall what it was or where I found this deck,so any help would be REALLY appreciated!
When I was at university, to go to my 'local' game store, I had to walk for thirty minutes to the station, wait up to half an hour for a train that was invariably early or late, ride the train for forty five minutes, walk fifteen minutes to the store, and then repeat the journey on the way home, frequently at midnight. Average round trip assuming no delays? Three hours. Some places simply don't have the economy to support a nerdstore, and to sustain it have to largely run the formats that the majority want to play. It's unfortunate.
When I first saw Zurgo Bellstriker, I was more than a little intrigued. I love Commanders that are a bit kooky and a bit weird and can do fun things, and also, more than a little bit underpowered. Then I moved states to a metagame that I feel is kinda wrath heavy. It's taken me a few months to get my act together and actually work on this list (and I'm still short a few things), but here goes!
The basic idea of the deck is for to Dash in Zurgo, who then goes full Voltron and smacks your opponent upside the head. At end of turn, he returns to hand, avoiding the wrath that your (my) meta throws at you (we have very little spot removal)and then do it again next turn until all your opponents are dead. To aid in this, there's a solid selection of board wipes and land destruction/control, a funky selection of equipment, all of which either equips for free or cheaply, mana stones for LD recovery, and some recurring creatures. This deck is currently untested (I'm short a few pieces), but goldfishing if nothing else, its a lot of fun! I will be updating this over the next week or so explaining my card choices better!
Can anyone reasonably explain how a fatpack shortage in Europe, Africa (also heard reports of shortages there), and Australia can be blamed on Wizards prioritizing the US's fatpacks, when Europe and Africa's cards are printed in Belgium, and Austrlia's cards I think are printed in China or Japan?
Found that Taurean Mauler and Spawn of Mayhem curve really nicely, however, the Doomsday Combo with Ill-Gotten Gains doesn't work due to the exile when you cast Gains.
