If I play Angel of Glory's Rise to bring back Fiend Hunter and set up the combo in standard what happens if someone killes hunter? Is there a time they could do it to keep the Angel exiled forever or will it always come back?
    Thanks

    4x Elvish Visionary
    2x Borderland Ranger

    4x Verdant Haven
    1x Mizzium Mortars
    3x Devil's Play

    7x Forest
    4x Kessig Wolf Run
    7x Mountain
    4x Gruul Guildgate
    1x Rootbound Crag
    2x Stomping Ground

I was thinking Wolfir Avenger might be good but wasn’t sure if it was better than Ghor, Borderland Ranger, or Daybreak Ranger. I also was not sure if I should use Verdant or the card that finds two forests for 4. Any ideas for cheap finishers would be great, preferably with reasons why the are so worthwhile.
    Thanks for the helps.

Some of my friends were going to do a semi competitive standard tournament and I was hoping to play for some fun. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to a deck that abuses deadeye in a budget fashion. I was thinking maybe blue green or blue white with the Primordial’s.
    Thanks for the help.

    Hey Guys,
So sorry this in not as detailed as it could be because I did not take the best notes throughout the day but here is what I have. This is the list and Games I got 9th with

    1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
    3 Wurmcoil Engine
    1 Spellskite
    4 Karn Liberated

    4 Ancient Stirrings
    4 Chromatic Sphere
    4 Chromatic Star
    4 Expedition Map
    3 Oblivion Stone
    4 Pyroclasm
    4 Relic of Progenitus
    4 Sylvan Scrying

    1 Eye of Ugin
    1 Forest
    1 Ghost Quarter
    4 Grove of the Burnwillows
    1 Llanowar Wastes
    4 Urza's Mine
    4 Urza's Power Plant
    4 Urza's Tower

    Combust
    4 Nature's Claim
    3 Slaughter Games
    1 Spellskite
    3 Torpor Orb
    1 Ghost Quarter
    3 Combust

    Game one- Mono-Blue Faerie’s
    Win 2-1
Game one I got a turn three tron and landed karn while he played a feel spell sprite’s so I ran over him fairly quickly when I got a Wurmcoil going. I brought in torpor orb x3 and took out 3x Relic Game two I have 10 mana and a hand of 2x Karn, Wumcoil, and Emrakul. I was playing around mana leak so I did not play them the turn I had Tron but waited a turn to be able to force them through it. Unfortunately, he had Mistbind Clique two turns in a row to stop me from casting anything while I have 10 and then 13 mana. I lost this game and went on to Game three. In this game he got a mistbind going with some others and Mutavault. I got a Wurmcoil and then a Eldrazi Monument to search for another because he was still doing more damage then the first could lifelink. It got to the stage where I attacked with two, he blocked and I searched then cast the third. He would have won the game had he topdecked a second Cryptic Command to tap them down again because I was at 4 Life and he had 5 power flying. He did not and I attack with 3 wurmcoils to gain 18 life and cause him to give up.

    Game two-Kiki Pod
    Win 2-1

Game one he just ran over me with the combo while I was trying to set up Tron. I had the final Tron piece in my hand along with the other two and a Grove of the Burnwillows. I had the O-Stone in my had so if it took him one more turn to combo out then I would have been able to deal with it. He played the deck very well to be able to double pod the turn he did to win. Game two 3x Torpor Orbs, 4x Natures Claim and Spellskite came in with all 4 Relics and 4 Pyroclam coming out. I landed early Torpor so he tried to beat me down with Kiki and then angel. I land a fatty, I believe Karn and then Wurmcoil which was game over. Game three I landed two early torpor Orbs and an early Tron and it was easy to win from there. This player made it to the top 8 and when I left I was the only loss he had.

    Game thee- Infect
    Win 2-0

I did not think my only 2-0 of the day would be against infect. Basically both games we mulliganed to 6 each which helped me more then him. I had pyroclam one game and 2 the other. The highlight of these games was getting a karn with 24 counters on it and 6 cards exiled with it, I just tried to keep him with only one card in hand so he couldn’t force anything through. I landed Wurmcoil and won. I had brough in a Spellskite, Natures claim, Combust, and Ghost Quarter. I ended up using the ghost to blow up his Pendelhaven so it was worth it I guess because he got me to 9 counters. He has me at 8 the out game so both were close. Infect is such a rough mach up for us so I felt super luck to escape from this matchup.

    Game four- Burn R/W
    Win 2-1

Game one I landed early Wurmcoil and he had Boros Reckoner to slow me down. I Karned him and then won quickly with lifelink. Game two I was much slower and he just burned me out. Three I was also very slow but he topped decked awfully and I was able to use Eldrazi monument to search for Karn, play him the next turn, and then attack for the lifelink on the third turn while I had spend three turns at two life. Very luck but that is magic I guess.

    Game Five- Burn R/B/ W/G
    Win 2-1

This deck had all the colors for burn with Deathrites, larger burn spells and Bob. He wont game one by burning me away and playing a second Bob after I Pyroclamed the first. Game two I got an early Karn and ate most of his hand. The best play was when he tried to Boros charm his Bob when I ate it with Confidant. It was a very funny misplay and he was a great sport about it. This was a super fun player to play against. Game three he was winning and I landed Wurmcoil, hit a few times and it was over. He ended up getting thirtieth and seemed to remember what magic was about and had fun. He thought he had the win before the Wurmcoil when he had me at 5 Life and a active bob. He top decked needing a burn spell for the win, or so he thought. He drew a lightning bolt attacked with bob and slammed it down thinking he won. I natures claimed an egg so he only took me down 1.

    Game seven- Kiki Pod
    Lost 0-2

This player however was the least fun player I have played against. He had aweful protectors that stuck and caused cards to bend. I tried to make sure they did not as I did not want to bend cards worth a lot of money. He was very upset by this even though I made sure I could not see any of the cards. Regardless he beat me down quickly in game one with the combo. I brought in the normal sideboard for game two but he ended up going turn 3 sowing salt with a bid and turn four sowing salt with another bird. Double sowing salt is something I hoped to never see. This guy made it to the top 8 and didn’t lose before that as far as I know.

    Game seven- Bug
    Lost 1-2

There was a deck check I almost got a game loss for putting my cards in upside down after I re-sideboarded from the previous match. This was a total mistake and when the judge asked and I was able to tell him exactly what I had boarded in and out he seemed to also believe it was a mistake. I apologized for the mistake and made sure to pay attention, the things people do to cheat. Anything I was flustered after this for sure and ended up not playing perfectly. The guy I was playing against Landed Bob all three games I believe and was able to follow him up with another in the two games he won after I pyroclasmed them. This hurt a bunch because the card advantage was so huge and he could lock me out with counter spells.

    Game Eight- Burn R/B/W

I was tired of Burn after seeing it for the third time. Game one he land flooded and I won quickly. Game two he curved super well and I had no chance. Game three I landed early Spellskite so I thought I was safe. He ended up Lava Spiking me twice and bumping me twice with only one land. I ended up using natures claim to keep me alive by killing my o stone to give me time to find Emrakul for the win. He only had one land game 3 and Karn was able to eat that so he could not play anything, I guess he only had two cost burn spells left? He did use a lot on one drop ones earlier including a bolt I made Spellskite take so I guess it made some sense but I did draw four lands in a row waiting to complete Tron so I had some luck for sure.

Finding out I was 9th was disappointing but overall it was a really fun day. Thanks to everyone for all of the help.

A few more questions for the fun of it. What are the key cards to stop in eggs? I havent played against the deck so that would be very helpful. Also, how do people sideboard against splinter twin? It looks like you could bring in Torpor Orb, Combust and Natures Claim which would be somehwere beween 6 to 10 cards which seems live overkill, so what is the actual number people often bring in. There does not seem to be alot of talk on the mirrow. Does everyone just use one ghost quater and hope they hit tron first or actually sideboard to help this match-up? Thanks again for all the help comunity :).

@Traveler80 or others, do you sideboard the natures claims in most of the time game two then or only against specific decks?

What sideboards does everyone run? Also, what decks are our weakest. I would think infect, twin and aggro would be the worst.

Thanks for the advice. Everyone thinks that Ulamog is that bad that he should be taken out?
Spellskite helps against infect, burn and aggro? What makes relic so much worse now?

I am going to say Delver because he made one of the best Legacy decks great and did very well in standard while being modern playable. HM to Snaps.

I think I would rather invest in a more expensive deck than a cheap one. Even if Jund is completely history (its not), the pieces are worth a lot because they're good cards without the others. I can build a new deck with those cards, or by trading them for ones I need. Plus, Wizards is extremely unlikely to ban expensive cards.

Your right. I forgot that they didn't ban Jace.
