As fun as the combo of worshipers and oracle's insight is, I think overall skirmisher is the best card in the pack.

    So... Skirmisher

Skyguard, not close. We will have to try to read what is open in the next couple picks.

Personally I think the pick is between Oracle's insight and Perplexing Chimera.

I really really want to take Chimera... but I think taking Oracle's Insight is probably going to be the correct pick more often than the Chimera.

I don't think we are going to end up in UR if we can avoid it, but if we do I think Chimera is better. However, I think Chimera and Insight are both better in a more Controlling UB or UG build and in those I think Oracle's Insight is better.

Edit: Honorable mention goes to just jamming Rollicker and doubling down on red aggro picks and just trying to force Rx aggro... which sounds bad

I can place my stymied hopes face up on the table in my UB Control deck on turn 2. You can cast your 2 drop on 3 and your 3 drop on 4 etc... Who got who?

I got you in that case. Every time you held two mana open, I only had to hold open one to play around it. Every time you didn't have that mana open, I used all of my mana as efficiently as I could at the time.

Granted, this case only happens if they somehow learn it is in your hand or something like that.

how are they not yours? You paid for the packs right? There is no legal action that can be done if he just left. Howerver the store might not let him back in, but I doubt it's theft.

You chose to enter into an event where the agreement was that whatever rares (and likely foils) were in your collective packs were to be the prizes for the event. As soon as you enter that event, you forfeit the rights to those cards.

It may or may not legally be theft; I cannot say for sure on that front. However, it is so close to theft that if anyone ever did that while I was around, I would refuse to play any rare redraft event they ever played in in the future. (At least until they made proper reparations.)

Personally, in a redraft rares draft, I would consider dropping and leaving with your drafted rares to be theft. They are part of the prize pool. You may be using them, but they are never yours.

After all, you would pass money cards if they aren't a card you actually want to draft out for your deck (or I suppose to hate it away). Being allowed to leave with your rares would realistically remove the whole point of making it a rare redraft draft.

If you drop because you have to go or want to do something else, you should be turning over your rares to someone in charge.

One nice interaction that I imagine folks miss is Glimpse the Sun God + your already attacking heroic creatures.

I know I enjoy a good declare attackers including an Akroan Skyguard, and then while still in the declare attackers step, use glimpse to tap their blockers and pump the skyguard.

I only offer the split if I hate my deck, but have pulled out the results despite my deck.

I only take the split if I think my deck is average or below.

If I like my deck, I want to play it more Wink

Sadly MTGO went down during my first match, I'm hoping they'll extend the events a bit given how long the downtime was.

Me too. Finished M1G1 and then it crashed. Frown

I played casually during 2/3 of the blocks, so I mostly needed to learn the Alara cards. Even with that, looking over the 9 card gold filled pool was a bit daunting. I felt a little lost, but I enjoyed coming up with a deck. I just wish I could have actually played more than one game with it.

I just logged onto mtgo thinking about drafting and noticed the announcement for these events starting in 5 minutes.
    How convenient.
Now... off to read the lists of commons/uncommons to refresh myself.

Sorry to have been fairly afk, was and am still sick... but popping in.

Elite Skirmisher is a nice card. Not amazing, but I think it is the best one available.

I think butcher is significantly better than triton. That said... we seem to agree on the end result.

I am completely content with throwing away the butcher if we get cut off.

I think the pick here is Kragma Butcher

Honorable mentions for me include Searing Blood and maybe loyal pegasus if we want to attempt W/x super aggro.
