Vishamon: Why did you say Az claimed scum in #272?

    True.

    Az: Why the inconsistency?

    It's because I'm scum.

    Teach reading is fundamental.

Let me give you my own scumlist since everyone seems to be doing it, then I'll move on to outlining why AE's obsession with me makes him scum.

I am not sure why Axelrod thought it better for him to NOT do a tiered catch up, but it seems nefarious at best to squelch that kind of info dump unless you are scared of what might happen. However, I have been liking Axel's posts, so this could be a difference in opinion.
I directly questioned him about this, to which he did not reply.

@Axelrod, please respond to my post #670

Yes. I already saw those general things. I wanted a concise list of the claims so I didn't have to trawl through everything just looking for that in addition to the behavioral analysis.

You'll stumble upon the claims while catching up anyway, so it's not like giving you a list will save you time. Unless you need to know the claims before engaging in behavioural analysis (why?).
By the way, for the record, we haven't gone through a full guild massclaim.
bold mine. but I'm sleep though.

This sounds more like a scum mentality than a town mentality to me -- town wants to read through to understand everything that has happened. Scum already knows who is town and who isn't, so they just want to see the highlights - what information has come from claims, and what has the town figured out (or not) about the behavior of the other players.

Well, based on the first few pages, I'm seeing a lot of guild claims at least. Can someone summarize the claims so far or link to a post that does so?
The summary is: three of the guilds have had their abilities partially or fully outed. Some members of each of these guilds have claimed their guild affiliation. For more depth than that, read the thread.

Do you think your vote on AI should shield you from being accused by anyone who has a scum read on him?
No, I just think at least acknowledging the awkwardness of it would have been the town thing to do.

"Would have been"? Usually it's scum who try to do the things town "would have" done. Townies just do them.
If this isn't a slip, I would really like you to tell us more about your mindset, and why you felt the need to do "the town thing".

    ...
I'd like to see KK to respond to this. (I have some things to say about it, but I'll wait)

[snip]To my mind, that would be the logical course for you to take - to regard it as nothing more than a recommendation from a teammate, and not as an insult to your intelligence or ability.

To me, the simplest explanation is inexperienced townie, straight up, rather than unevenly playing scum who's both punting one hand, but also fairly creative and slick in tying in his retcon to his past posts the next minute we see him, at the supposed retcon stage.
To me, he seems less slick and creative, and more grasping at thin air - the "You've fallen into my trap!" line seems hollow, and the fact that he over-explains it in a manner that does not feel genuine makes it hard for me to take him at face value. I feel like he's either scum trying (poorly) to explain away scummy behavior, or town acting scummy in order to explain away acting scummy.
In this case, I would not invoke the Napoleon quote you used, but rather Occam's Razor. Town lying about lying in order to negate scum points seems less plausible than scum lying about lying to try and avoid being lynched.

Yes, lynching zind certainly seems to be an option.

    Its nice to have options.

God, this post just reeks of opportunism. Just when I was ready to back off of KoolKoal, he posts this. :/
it's almost as if he's trying to mask the opportunism with humor? Idk, I'm going to sleep.

Gut says this reads as scummy, I can't back it up with logic though.

Nope. In 361 he "can't even figure out if AE is scum or not." In 435 he can't figure out why no one scum reads AE. In 496 it's "obvscum AE."

I'm guessing he himself can't keep them straight.
    yeah, that was my thought.

To clarify "if that's the case" means "if scarbo did not, in fact, conflate AI and AE."

Scarbo, that wasn't even worth responding to. You can't even keep AI and AE straight. Come back when you have something worth my time.
I don't see where he has conflated the two, unless it's
    Quote from scarbo »
Next post: "Why isn't anyone scum reading AE?" vs in the previous post "I can't even decide if AE is scum."
here. If that's the case, it makes it look even worse that you yourself can't keep the two of them straight, especially given the amount of your attention they have appeared to attract between the two of them.

@Killjoy: I would ask you NOT to do 100 post "recaps" where you narrate the thread for the next several posts. One catch up where you give your (current) reads on people with reasons why would be hugely more beneficial in my opinion and also take a lot less time and space.
Do you just find blah blah blah distracting, or is there another reason behind this? I actually like seeing the way people are reading as they read through during catch up after replacing in, rather than just the end product when they've finished.
