The ole "dies to removal" argument huh. Brilliant.
It's not a combo dude. Sword and Phantasm are two independent spells both sharing synergy with a mill strategy. They just so happen to combine, and in doing so allow for a complete shift in winning strategy without diluting the deck one iota. It gives mill strategies a whole 'nother dynamic.
Kudos to the first one to try it and report comprehensive results.
And RTFC. Sword grants protection from black spot removal, so the Slip is on you.
Seriously guys. Your attitude towards new cards is stagnant.
Constructive assessment is welcomed and encouraged.
so slip actually does stop this because you slip in response to the equip, and your argument is bad because thet phantasm is not good without the sword, 1/1 for one IS NOT GOOD IN CONSTRUCTED!!!!! and sword my be a good card on its own, but then why run the phantasm? why not just run a better sword? also mill is not legitimate no matter how much you try, it does not have the support and if you try diluting it with bad agro cards then you are in for a beeting as playing your deck will not only be unnfun, but you will never win with it.
Phantasm is a terrible card because in any deck where using a card (like glimpse of the unthinkable) to get 10 cards into their graveyard is good then you do not want/need a 5/5 because you are just trying to win with mill, and any combination strategy is just bad, terrible actually, end of story.
So i have in my collection two altered art islands, but i only have 1 slot in my 5 color deck for an island, and i cant decide which of these two should be it, what do you think?
This is a deck that i think looks really sweet and I may get back into standard just to build and play with it, what are your thoughts? is the mana base to sketchy? are there cards that i should have?
Harmonic Sliver is not a good choice ultimately, choose Aura Shards instead - it's a may ability. I'm reading through your deck here, and you say it's a combo deck. Looks like you have MANY pieces of combos, and very few of the 2nd pieces. Mana Echoes is good
I'm going to do you a solid fellow 5c'er. Here's a list of combos & synergies I utilize in my Slivincible deck. This thing is jammed-packed with combos, outlets everywhere. Bet you'll find something useful!
i used to run a bunch of combos like you do, but they seem kinda clunky and some of them need a ton of mana so i just kept the combos that i thought were the strongest and cut the rest of the combo cards for tutors, but what i may look back into is adding in mana reflection, plainchron, and riku, but i want to know your opinion on those, or if you thought that there was a better one that i could ad in, i like ones that are flexible because if they kill my rings of brightearth, i don't want basal monolith to be dead in my hand
but thanks for the help though, i am not sure that i am correct about what i just said, and i don't mean to say you are wrong, i just want to hvae a lively discussion about the necessity of so many different combos, a;so there are a few combos that i run that i am surprised you dont, like training grounds/heartstone+ ashnoods altar/bassal sliver + sliver queen
I play at my local store in tournaments and there is a VERY heavy combo meta, and one way that i was thinking of trying to survive my opponents combos was with the inclusion of
Ali From Cairo what are your thoughts? is there something about him that i am missing? it seems like he stops any sort of infinite combo that does not include decking me or like niv mizzet
heres the deck, tell me what you think, what i should add, what i should take out, whats on your mind...... TELL ME ANYTHING!
I NEED Help with this deck, i really want to improve it, but i don't know how.
also whats your opinion about the inclusion of Ali From Cairo ?

i have never quite liked the Necrotic sliver, but harmonic might be worth giving a shot
