Here are some examples of potential abilities which could be considered to strongly interact with enchantments

    1. all enchantments you cast cost 2 less to cast
    2. whenever an enchantment enters the battlefeild under your control, you may draw a card
    3. enchantments you control gain hexproof
    4. ecnhantments you control gain 1U: exile this enchantment then return it to the battlefield at the next end step
    5. sacrifice an enchantment : deal 2 damge to target creature or player
    6. search your library for an enchantment than put it into your hand
    7. Reveal the top 5 cards of your library, put all enchantments reveiled this way into your hand
    8. 3G: you may play an enchantment from your hand without paying it's costs.

I could keep going, put I think you get the point. All of the above abilities could be considered to be powerful interactions with enchantments.

Those are all under the category "enchanment matters". This is greek set that plays with the mechanics of enchantments.

I love this set already but it seems like some people just wanted an enchantment set because of the disconnect of the urza block.

So suspend deals with 2 zones and has a triggered ability that you have to remember while its not even in the game. Thats the main issue with suspend and why its complicated, its taking a lot of mental energy to remember all that. bestow doesnt take the mental energy. Its complicated because of its rules. :/

It is a bit complicated but MaRo has said that he will do complex things when they are needed at common. if you notice they common ones are a cycle or something very simple. ie +1/+1 and lifelink.

from what i have heard and can guess, Bestow came about from Born of the gods. So they were made late. but they solved some problems that r&d were having on both the development and design sides of things.

lastly is they are way less complicated than licids. all i see is a wall of text and have no idea to this day how licids actually work. the biggest issues is explain how the actual bestow mechanic works in rules language. the way that is works stumps every single judge and knowledgeable plays who thought they knew how auras worked.

This core set feels like a bunch of disjointed non-themes slapped together. That's the biggest problem, not power level.

I think this is the real problem. they tired to do to many things in this set. and it doesnt look right on paper hopefully it plays well.

theres obviously the slivers, but theres also a lifegain theme, an enchantment theme, and a +1/+1 counter theme.

and its seems that moving doomblade to uncommon they needed to make a lot of slots in black some of the subpar removal spells. darksteel forge is an odd ball. also the lack of o ring seems weird after the last time they took it out.

it also seems weird that all the mythics are in 4 camps. 1. planeswalker 2. creature that has some type of triggered ability. 3. an overcosted spell. 4 darksteel forge. i guess darksteel could have been in three.

  • posted a message on [[BaseSpec]] [Theros] Land cycle from Futur Sight possible...
So i was talking to my friend about a rumor that the filterlands where going to be reprinted. and he said they were already a reprint from future sight and would like to see a new cycle of the FS lands printed, like nimbus maze, they would work well with the shock lands. i thought about it for a second and agreed. then said since theros has a greco roman theme, and nimbus is a word used a lot in classical mythology (from dictionary.com - "Classical Mythology . a shining cloud sometimes surrounding a deity when on earth.") they mechanically and thematically fit. id bet on that cycle.

  • posted a message on why is m13 so bad so far?
    Quote from Rutherjc19
this makes a lot of since and is only 7 minutes, thanks a bunch Smile I have a better understanding as to why m13 is pretty much terrible compared to other sets close to it. Bright side is ill save a ton of money this next 3 months or so... lol

That also might not really be true. Every so often when wizards reduces power creep they are also making an illusion of card finances. When RTR comes and we get a rotation cards that right now look terrible become more appealing because like magic roughly 700 hundred cards, depending on reprints, disappear.
So if you want to save money you might want to get these "terrible cards" now and just hang on to them. At sometime you might need to play with them.

  • posted a message on No more booster drafts at Pre-releases :(
if your store is having to send people away that means at your next prerelease your store will have more product. my local story just got the next level by hitting over 100 people. one of the biggest things was the midnight draft, which the owner has had to cut to three rounds and pods of 8 so we can all sleep. i believe we had over 70 for that event. i think throughout saturday he launched 7 drafts along with a 2 headed giant. sunday the sealed had one person show up but he still got a draft and a 2 headed. my store owner also had to rent out space next door to make sure he had enough space. both he and i along with other store owner that try to have a diverse crowd of causal and spike competitive players. some people dont like sealed and prefer to do a draft. MaRo talking about how playing magic is good and they want people to play more magic. thats the whole reason behind the change to pwp. so people dont have to worry about playing magic and losing rating. this is making people not want to play magic. and the dfcs talk. i dont think people would be running out of space if people werent excited about playing with dfcs.
