The End of an Era

If any mod wants to suspend my ability to make posts for a few months (until sets with new Goblins), I'd appreciate the action.

I'm zoning out of interest in the game. I used to be more actively involved but am not right now. I could be again.

I just feel like my opinions are entirely 100% self serving and tend to seek conflict rather than agreement on this site.

TL;DR - I cede my time to the rest of the forum.

Greetings anyone who might be reading this. This post is made to make official my departure from Magic until Goblins are back in standard-legal expansion sets.

It just doesn't feel right for me to think about an pontificate on a game that phased out my central point of interest for the second year on three years. I believe that they will come again, but until then, I don't want to play limited, am not playing an causal Legacy, and I work too many hours to attend big Legacy tournaments or rouge gatherings.

Still, Magic is a great game. When your actively involved with other people playing Magic, the game is memorable and worthwhile. When you are all alone just building your arsenal to take on a sea of faceless strangers, the game feels like a plague on one's consciousness that must be purged with hellfire!

I like MTGS a lot. I like the good points. I like the bad points. I like the people with over 9000 posts. I like the trolls. I like the pros. I like the stupid casuals. I even like the people who want to reprint the few valuable Magic cards that I have which are worth some serious dough until they are $5 ea.

I don't like the counterfeiters, but I wouldn't ask questions about the authenticity of anyone's cards. It's on their own conscience whether they got them legitimately or nefariously.

I believe in my time in these forums I have inadvertently offended every single possible reader at least once. The record stands. I could have been worse, but fortunately for the reader, I tend to run away from my post because my anxiety is so bad that I'm shy on the internet.

I hope people out there appreciate the angle that I have brought to certain subjects. If I'm not destroying your threads I probably liked your post. It is all in good nature and enjoyment of those Magic conversations you have in a causal setting with six or more people. As long as everyone has decks within the same parameters, that is Magic nirvana, everyone is equal and accepted and more or less free to express themselves. There is no such feeling when playing in a Magic tournament.
