I played werewolves religiously in SOM-INN standard (and ended up crushing delver decks at events I went to due to different tempo plays with Huntmaster of the Fells and/or Moonmist) until Thragtusk got printed and warped standard for a year. What I learned playing the deck previously is that the werewolf deck plays like a human tribal deck with the option of going into overdrive if your opponent trips up.
Cards I think to watch for playability are: Dual shot, due to the 2-for-1 potential, but it's not as good as Arc Trail which available in SOM-INN unfortunately: Sparkmage's Gambit, for the same reasons as Dual Shot but trading instant-speed for making creatures unable to block. Fall of the Titans, for being a late-game mana sink with a similar functionality to Bonfire of the Damned, but trades hitting the whole board for instant speed. Chandra, Flamecaller, as another late-game threat and Planeswalkers that lets us do things on our turn without actually playing anything.
Looking to tweak my list, I feel like this could work well, but needs more removal potentially?
4th Kord and Rider incase the match up is faster and Chandra's are too slow (more 'walkers can shore up a control match up better aswell).
Dual shot for weenie/aggro.
4th Hermit for a possible control match up.
3 Partisans for decks with lots of targeted spells/removal.
Moonlight Hunt and Forgemaster for creature-heavy slug feats.
What do you guys think? (Apologies for any formatting errors or typos, I'm on mobile)
I feel like the card may fit thematically in a block about fighting giant monsters with heroes and planeswalkers. Also it could work well in standard since we have an abundance of legendary creatures thanks to Khans of Tarkir block and we are sure to only get more in BFZ block.
I'm trying to keep the list as close to post rotation as possible (hence only 4 shocklands and 4 RTR block cards).
So far it's been testing well, but I've only tested it against the Nightveil Specter/Desecration Demon version of Jund midrange with a player who's... Not the best. I'm going to try to get to a standard tournament this Saturday if the rest of the cards come in the mail :/ Just looking for a list to play at Game Day really (and play Garruk for the year he's in Standard :D).
Anger of the Gods is for Aggro decks, Hero's Downfall, SDE, and Garruk for Elspeth based decks (and potentially certain midrange match ups).
Lost game one in a match, then had to sit and watch my opponent stare at his cards and pick his nose while he waited for game two to go to time and get the win.
More than once. By the same opponent.
Ummm... This is not acceptable in tournaments and is slow play. Call a judge and get him a warning/game loss.
Read the Bones is occasionally called Scry in Blood around here, mostly because I never bothered to initially learn it's name and just called it Scry in Blood for a while and people liked it so it caught on.
It's sad that this is strictly outclassed (yes, I'm using strictly) by Boar Umbra from such a recent set a couple of years ago. Three cmc for +3/+3 and protection > four cmc for +3/+3. Why would they ever use Divine trans. over Boar Umb. nowadays for this game?
Yes, I am completely 100% aware this card was originally made in Legends.
So there's this format called limited, you may not have heard of it. It's been around for a while but everyone seems to forget about it...
I'm going to chime in here. I work at my LGS/Hobby Store, got the job at the start of the summer. I'm paid minimum wage, the owner and asst. manager are on salary and I'm pretty sure the other worker is also on minimum wage.
However, the low pay is fine as most of the time it doesn't even seem like I'm working. I enjoy interacting with the customers and talking to them about our products. During FNM/Thurs. night Magic I am usually able to get a few games in when the foot traffic is low. This equates to me getting paid while I play Magic... For example, I'm on the clock while I'm playing in an FNM event and I was on the clock when myself and 7 others drafted my box of Modern Masters. I just need to stop the game/match whenever I'm playing and a customer is ready to ring out.
TL;DR: I work at my hobby/game store, I am paid minimum wage but get an employee discount and get to play Magic on the clock.
I'd say I'm smarter than average, went to a fancy pants "smart" high school, got the tuition of said high school back in scholarships for college. I severely doubt I'm anything more intelligent than mildly above average though.
I ordered mine for $225 off of eBay and am very happy with the purchase. I will/am able to use 10+ cards in the set, and the remainder I know people who like to use them/trade for them and the rest I can sell honestly.
4 Duskwatch Recruiter
4 Geier Reach Bandit
4 Collected Company
The idea behind these picks is that Duskwatch Recruiter gives a mana sink that finds more doods, Krallenhorde Howler makes those doods cheaper, and Vildin Pack-Alpha puts those doods into overdrive as soon as they hit. Collected Company allows for passing of turns and flooding the field, and Arlinn Kord is basically a slower Huntmaster of the Fells that lets us do stuff on our turn without casting spells.

Out of all the mythics pulled, 2 got ripped (Dragon Whisperer and Shorecrasher Elemental) and the ones that were saved were Dragonlord Ojutai and Clone Legion. Oh, and a foil Shaman of Forgotten Ways got ripped too. Not too much was notable out of the box except for a card I didn't realize was in this set and so OP...

All of my other fat packs were average/below average however (M11, RTR, GTC).
