This is a Reaper King EDH deck. It is basically a combo-control deck that has multiple infinite combos and counters almost every spell that tries to disrupt said combos. Yes, this is sort of mean, but my friend Ziquallx in the post a couple bars below this post plays so many action spells I need a way to protect myself from turn 2 combo off. Keep in Mind, (Spencer), i have a couple cards in here that aren't in my possesion as of now, but hopefully will be soon (a couple shocks).
This deck is the definition of LOL. i just put Shaharazad in my reaper king deck as a joke, for one fnm a couple weeks back, and we had a subgame within a subgame within a subgame. I pleaded them to continue playing, and they did (begrudgingly, i might add) and the match took almost 3 hours. it was the most fun I've ever had playing Magic. Sweet deck.
If you're willing to spend a couple bucks each, i would grab a Path to Exile and a Swords to Plowshares. Simply the best 1 for 1 removal spells in EDH, and luckily neither of them is rare, so they shouldn't betto hard to pick up. Also, dual lands.................JKJK LOL.
This my current list. Basically, I want to deny them of playing their spells until I can combo off with countermagic up. My meta is very competitive, (aka 3 unbudgeted zur lists and 2 unbudgeted Jhoira lists), so the counters are needed.
Reanimator is one of the better budget archetypes, and it's always awesome to have new people joining Legacy.
Since apparently duals and fetches are a no-no, I would consider things like Underground River. It's only a couple bucks, and acts like a dual in your fetchless deck.
One thing I noticed is that you are running 11 reanimation spells, 7 big guys, and only 8 ways to dump them into the 'yard.Thirst for Knowledge seems pretty perfect in this deck. It essentially cycles, gets stuff in the yard, and is instant speed, so you can hold up counters for anything that would get in the way of reanimating stuff.
Speaking of counterspells, there is one that hasn't even been MENTIONED that aches to be in this deck:Dispel.
The only things that are going to disrupt your combo are instants, and Dispel deals with them better than Spell Pierce ever could.
Other than that, I hope you enjoyed my rant, and happy brewing!
(P.S. If you can pick up Zendikar fetches. I know they're pricey, but they help the deck a ton and not only are they a stable investment, they're at an all-time low and bound to go up with the next modern season.)
Umm, Balance is BANNED in commander, FYI.
Otherwise, I would try Karn Liberated. He is actually the stone cold nuts in my 5cc Progenitus build, and is definitely worth a spot.
1, they shouldn't be tapped out.
2, they should have counter spells, as they should be playing blue, the best color in Magic.
3, combos are either awesome, or completely disheartening and stupid. It all depends on your meta. If everyone has signed alpha duals and extremely competitive decks with all foils, then combos are the way to go. If instead, people have pre cons or are playing Runeclaw Bear, then I would stay away.
Personally, in my meta, everyone runs combos, so the only way to win is run both combos and combo disruption (counter spells and removal). I only run 5 info combos, so it's not that bad. They are:
If you want to go more combo, you can always add twin and Pestermite to go reaall deep. If you are going that sort of route, then also add some of the great tutors like Worldly Tutor, Chord of Calling, and the like to get your c-c-c-combos rolling.
I don't completely understand this, because you are running some expensive cards that must be worth a lot more than a coffers and an urborg. But hey, that's your call.
This is just cards that i have traded for, not bought. there is nobody in my play group with coffers or urborg 4 trade and I'm not about to buy them off ebay or something. I'm not 18, i don't have a job.

Kiki-Jiki/Splinter Twin + Deceiver/Pestermite
Niv Mizzet, the Firemind+Curiosity
Palinchron+Phantasmal Image
Palinchron+Riku of Two Reflections(which happens to be my commander)
Charmbreaker Devils+Extra Turn spell as only instant/sorcery in graveyard.
Anyway, my opinion is positive. Combos are great if you have a competitive meta.
