I mean if you havent either won or lost with this deck by the time a Geist monk comes out then something is wrong in my experience.Posted in: Believeinapathy Blog

Liliana (Of the Veil) is just so nasty. When it was Scars and Innistrad standard I had a U/B control deck where her +1 had very little downside, seeing as I could use recursion like flashback spells or Reassembling Skeleton to generate card advantage.
She's also an absolute beast in reanimator strategies and graveyard shenanigans and multiplayer (EDH or otherwise) games.
I guess there is no question about those two being the 2 best Planeswalkers.
Now I guess the REAL question is which is the 3rd best planeswalker?
I'd say some of the recent Garruks (Primal Hunter) are nasty, and he would get my vote since he has had a few useful iterations (Relentless and Caller of Beasts are pretty good too).
If Chandra wasn't so bad until Pyromaster, she would have been my 3rd choice.
My favorite is black because it has cool undead things and my favorite planeswalker and legends, namely Liliana of the Veil and
Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief
Actually vampires are my favorite tribe too. Tutors FTW by the way.
Red is my 2nd favorite. It is fun to me because it is aggressive (Some say its too simple like I think green is). I disagree, some of the most cerebral matches I've ever played were mono red on mono red. Knowing when to use burn as removal or burn as direct damage is key. Utilizing firebreathing as pseudo card advantage at least in my meta is highly overlooked in standard or modern.
I stopped counting at 17 votes for green (I was only half way through reading), Blue was right up there with red next on the list.
I think I saw white like 2 times, and dont remember seeing a single black as least favorite (Again I didn't read them all), but this is a pseudo poll as of my post.
And a 2/2 flyer with deathtouch for 1?
Either the satire is very strong in this thread or people really don't get how to design cards that are fair.
Oh and a black planeswalker that is very constructed playable? You mean mono black devotion doesn't have enough ammo?
How about something Dimir or Izzet that isn't terribad?
Even with two Boros Elite she's a house. Love her in midrange Boros.
She can thin the deck and set up a corrupt that could outright win after a grey merchant.
I know it's high on the mana cost but couldn't she also serve as a good removal for something like one of the gods with her minus ability?
Emrakul is a problem sure, but you see something like a Quicksilver Amulet you best counter it, or if you see an Elvish Piper get rid of it (Black has all the good removal in modern).
My biggest problem I've had is not against midrange or combo (Like splinter twin), but is the aggro decks. I can trade, but I hate trading my enablers, because face it, aside from Higure and Ink eyes, you don't have many big nasties out there, you live off of the pseudo card advantage from ninjas and many cuts over time.
Althought whip of erebos might be fun... and useful for lifelink. Staying alive long enough to stabilize and put the board into a more controlling state is my problem against most decks.
It turns tempo ninjas into an even more controlling deck. With all the bounce for Snappies, it's like I'm running 8 copies of Go for the throat and Mana Leak. I get a LOT of mileage out of removal and counters from snapcasters.
Thoughtseize would put a severe dent in my ability to maintain my 20 life, which with U/B ninjas is not very reasonable. Whip of Erebos, Batterskull, what would you recommend when the deck is basically full of enablers (Snappy being 4), and removal with a few big beatsticks like Ink Eyes and Higure?
The tempo and card draw is more than sufficient I find.
