Cortar posted a message on Huge Drop in Standard?Posted in: Standard ArchivesQuote from RichardHaroThe main problem right now is Jund's creatures just aren't very good, and there are no dual lands that come into play untapped. I have no idea how the guy who won the SCG did it, his deck should have lost to itself due to variance enough times to drop out of top 8 contention
I guess
Overgrown tomb
and
Stomping ground
aren't real huh? -

Xaerael posted a message on [[COMM]] MTG Commander 2013 Official AnnouncementPosted in: The Rumor MillQuote from JiyorWell they may just rotate between shards and wedges since they stated commander stuff is going to be a bi-yearly (or was it yearly?) thing. Besides not even counting this, allied/shard commanders still outnumber enemy/wedges by a big margin. Switching between the shards and wedges lets them expand the enemy/wedge more.
The only thing I wish Wizards would do is make any new cards released in side products like this Modern legal. Not like they can't ban a card that ends up braking the format anyway.
I'm pretty sure the official line was they were scrapping yearly premium decks in favour of a yearly commander line, because more people care about EDH than dumb foils that curl to an almost cylinder the moment you unbox them. -

MTGS_User109756 posted a message on Lack of mana fixing in the coming season?I would love a less mana focused standard. Being able to splash a 3rx and 4th color with no downside is a little much. I'm all for seeing a mono colored deck be viable again.Posted in: Magic General -

YamahaR1 posted a message on Game 1 of a tournament. Your opponent lays a Vexing Devil. What do you do?Posted in: Magic GeneralQuote from YoshimitsuWell what's the alternative? Take 8-12 over the next several turns? It's almost like the card is good or something.
Oh no no - I'm not disagreeing about taking the 4 flat out.
Just the people who say "life doesn't matter" or maybe "it only matters if its the last four" or "life is a resouce that I don't care about"
Then, they are dead. Life total did matter.
Or even the people who claim that its the same as your opponent starting with 6 cards, and you with 16 life. By that logic, please trade all 20 life for 5 cards and concede.
Thank you drive through.
So yes, the decision to take the 4 may be correct, but theyre reason to do so is completely skewed. Being dead set on "Im a good magic player so I know life total is irrelevant" is audacious when having 0 life loses the game. -

(Protip - that's what we WANT you to do, and it's very easy to get you to choose that.)
Gotta love the people who insist life total doesn't matter.
And then they are dead, cus 0. Oh noooo -

Their customer service department is pretty helpful with this sort of thing. If you don't get the email soon, you can contact them online or call. -

PhyrexianExile posted a message on Card Sleeves questionMTG cards are definitely the larger of the two. I have a really neat binder I wish I could use for trades, but it's YGO so this is where I first learned a hard, hard lesson.Posted in: Magic General - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Tamiyo has that title.

Why do I think this?
Fuels delirium.

Better not play any good decks anymore. They are killing modern. Control doesn't exist. They are removing combo and turning things into yugioh.

I know this is burn, but I love your idea of the figure of destiny for long running games as a mana sink.
In a similar regard, Stonewright is also a fantastic mana sink, or even a good way to drop mana without having to cast a burn spell if your board is clear.
Or Dragons Mantle. Replaces itself too. Gotta love cantrips.

Tarmogoyf prior to MM was like 100$. It's like 300$ now. Vendillion Clique, cryptic command. Etc.
Sure you might see a dip in value of reserved list, but these limited print runs barely add to the card pool and create even more of a buzz and interest.
No, I predict that reprinting paper power would just cause the price to go up when there is even MORE demand afterwards.

I want Aurochs back.
Need more for my cow deck.

His flavor is so savory he can do no wrong.
