so i've been building this since christmas, and yeah people are all over W/B tokens. but i've been working diligently on a humans variant, since humans are really good and they don't seem to mind having a vampire join their cause when DKA is released.
i went 3-2 for the first FNM playtesting with this deck, which is really good considering how competitive the store is. i have a primer below the list, and reasonings behind my unique decisions of why my deck is the way it is. here's what i've got.
alright so deck explanation. this is white weenie humans aggro, with black for instant speed removal, as well as tribute to hunger, which is white's weakness.
HOWEVER this deck plays more like a midrange deck, being capable of turning from aggro to tempo to control on the fly if you know how to pilot this deck right.
my sideboard has gone through a flurry of changes, and i forgot alot of stuff at home when i showed up, so i'm going to be modifying it some more, the meta i last played in is most likely not going to be the one i play in next.
CARDS TO DISCUSS:
Molten-Tail Masticorefirst of all, you see the masticore in here. alot of people think it's a bad janky card. well.... it's kinda like moorland haunt in a way. i can use the creatures in my graveyard to generate a kind of card advantage, by shooting my opponent's creatures down. or do dome my opponent for massive damage. this guy is a HOUSE and he has won me many many games. i'm not even ashamed to play him with no cards in hand. he blocks, then shoots something down.
Phyrexian Unlife: believe it or not, this card is BETTER than timely for the RDW matchup. i almost ALWAYS have more creatures than them. though timely can stack, so i like running both.
now, a really really quick go through the first matchups

this is actually a terrible matchup. he just digs for DoJ and then proceeds to own me with a helmet. i got my game win riding the back of an unanswered masticore that came outta nowhere.

i lost to mana flood unfortunately. he proceeds to sorin's vengeance with snapcaster both games.

2-0 win
WU illusionary bees
lawkeeper kills illusions. he doesn't keep a creature on board. i crush him like a bee.

GU werewolves
i kinda tilted my head at this particular deck. it was actually relatively well made. unfortunately my removal package is a bit excessive, which i like. also, ratchet bomb destroys him.

2-0 win
WU bee-blade
he never got past 3 lands. and i took huge advantage of that. i also know he doesn't have board wipe so i'm safe to just run my guys out and overwhelm him before he gets a chance to stabilize.
Some people seem to forget that powerful beings seem to be aware that the world their on isn't the only one even with out meeting planeswalkers.
Oona knew that there was other worlds besides Lorwyn/Shadowmoor even though see couldn't planeswalk.
O-kagachi more than likely knew there where planes beyond Kamigawa.In fact he was the one that prevented the myojin of nights reach from leaving kamigawa.
Avacyn is an important part of Innistrad.Maybe she got O-ringed and then got free somehow.
And seeing as how most PWs journey around even if they have a homeplane,Elspeth and Koth being exceptions, Avacyn being absent wouldn't make the humans worry so much since it would be more commonplace.
i would like to mention that Okagachi is the "great god of all things"
it is, but isn't a planeswalker. the only card that okagachi is on is final judgment. because it's actually the single most powerful entity in the entire multiverse. AKA okagachi = GOD.
back to avacyn. she's an angel. she "dissappeared" with griselbrand, a demon. demons are known to reside UNDERNEATH the surface of innistrad. oh look somewhere avacyn can "mysteriously vanish to.
seriously?! ugh.... i'm going to have a hay-day with this rules update. this is worse than when they removed damage on the stack!
i admit removing damage on the stack was actually a good thing, but many players quit on the spot. this new rules change is going to frustrate ALOT of people.
you might as well have just gone to the rules oracles and changed all of the "beneficial" required triggers into "may" triggers and be done with it.
i've been tinkering around with a R/G LMC variant.
i found, for all intents and purposes birds of paradise and crush to be amazing additions to this sort of deck.
to put into scenario:
T1: birds
T2: coating, crush your land.
opponent begins to tilt.
i've opted out of going to FNMs for the past little while due to frustration with a couple of greasy players and the $10 entry fee due to "double prize pool" that i'm not used to. also means that experimenting with decks is less than desirable. i will be playtesting this soon in some casual-esque games however.
On, semi-related topic, I've recently moved to a new city. I originally was playing in a thriving, very thrilling area of magic that made me a proud magic player. went to a draft and caught someone cheating. Due to lack of evidence and the fact i was new, nothing was done.
i refuse to play at tournaments there now since a known cheater is allowed to play (I've discussed this with others that play there and they agree that drafting mono-white humans in INN 2 weeks in a row with 4 fiend hunters, as well as 2-3 copies of highly valued cards while both players to his immediate left and right are drafting W/x. these being GOOD drafters.)
back to mr. fancy pants.
i do not see anything to do with him cheating at invitationals. but very obvious proof he has been cheating to win, and it does, in fact disgust me thoroughly to the point i just play lame casual magic with my 13 year old cousin over competitive.
it also disgusts me that SCG took 6 months to START the investigation, based solely on angry twitter-mobs rather than doing it when, say, he was reported, or when the videos of him cheating were put up.
SCG, and all of the magic community should take this as a lesson, and the rules for cheating in any way should be swiftly punished before the game degenerates any further.
I truly, honestly miss competitive magic. the closest thing I can get to that is cockatrice. and most of the time, people rage quit at my shenanigans.
