I sat in an executive suite courtesy of a buddy of mine - free food/drinks all night. We had a good view of the ring and a great view of the titantron. The bad thing about seeing WWE live is that you don't hear the announcers calling the matches. In the suite, you can have it on TV if it's RAW or Smackdown, but not a PPV.
Benoit - Jordan was kind of weird that it was so short. I'm guessing there was some kind of reason for that. My friend Ken and I must be Benoit's good luck charm. We've been to 2 PPVs and in both Benoit left with a belt that he didn't walk in with (this one and WMXX).
Hardy - Edge was almost what we wanted out of the match. These two guys have been part of some of the best matches in WWE history. Hardy Boys vs Edge and Christian was an unbelievable rivalry. These two can probably wrestle each other with their eyes closed - they know each other in the ring that well. The ending was very unexpected. If it's going to end that way, someone should be getting medical assistance - even if it's just for show.
Eddie- Rey was exactly what it should have been, some great ringwork with some awesome ladderwork. There were a few missed moves, and ladder matches always involve a lot of extra stalling time, but this match definietly made up for the first two.
Angle - Eugene also went the way that it should have. As long as he's in the WWE, the fans will always cheer Angle. He's possibly the best talent they have right now. Between his in ring and mic skills, I don't know if there is anyone who can fully match him right now. The fans know that and will always respect and love him for it. He's a great heel, but sometimes you just have to show him some love for being at the top of his game. The "medal ceremony" was a great ending to the match.
Orton - Taker was another solid match. The two of them went back and forth. The exchange of Tombstone reversals was nice. I have a new respect for Orton's ability to sell his opponenets moves. Without the announcers, it was a little hard to tell exactly what was going on when Orton's dad jumped into the ring (was he supposed to be dressed as Paul bearer?). Other than at Wrestlemania, Taker is always willing to put another guy over.
Cena - Jericho was nice. The crowd was totally into it, both guys were doing what they do best. Put together two guys who know how to work a crowd and that should always be the result. Hopefully, they're setting up for Cena vs Angle (Cena's first WWE match was against Angle) for the title.
JBL - Batista was better than I expected it to be. Starting off with them battling in the crowd before finally making their way into the ring. The Batista bomb onto the steps was a great exclamation point on the match.
Hogan - HBK was all about Shawn Michaels' willingness to give it up for Hogan. Hogan will always have the crowd on his side, working the crowd was always his strong point ,and this ability is why he was the guy that was used to bring the WWE to a national audience. Unfortunately, he's old and cant do much of anything anymore. Michaels could only do strikes against him (mostly chops, a few kicks and one toss into the ring post) - no grappling, no slams... HBK did an unbelievable job of selling every one of Hogan's moves. Hogan did very little work other than trying not to get winded, Michaels took care of ALL the work in this match. Hogan may have gotten his hand raised after the final bell, but it was easy to see who really got the job done. Michaels getting back in the ring to shake hands after the match was probably the best way to get him the pop he deserved for working his tail off just to "take one for the team" in that match.
All in all, I don't know if there was anything to really make this stand out over other PPVs - but it was a solid show.
I got one of these on an e-mail account that isn't even connected to an ebay account.
Whenever you get one of these e-mails, forward it with full headers to spoof@ebay.com. NEVER click on the links. If you do, immediately run you computer's anti-virus program.
1. Let's get it out of the way immediately: What is the best damn movie ever?
If I have to name one, I'd probably say Dr Strangelove.
I really don't think in terms of best (or even favorite - that changes all the time). How can you compare movies like Dr Strangelove, This is Spinal Tap, Endless Summer, Deliverance, Fantasia, and Halloween - and try to say which is better. They are all great in different ways, as they are all trying to do different things.
2. And, because it may differ, what is your favourite movie?
Right now, I'd say Repo Man.
3. What upcoming movie are you anticipating the most?
The Aristocrats
4. What is the most disappointing movie you have ever seen?
Either The Phantom Menace or Matrix Reloaded
5. On the other hand, what movie pleasantly surprised you the most, quality/enjoymentwise?
The Iron Giant

No clue, I really don't bother with trying to think about it.
7. What was the last movie you saw? How was it?
Hustle and Flow - it was enjoyable, not great but not bad.

Planet of the Apes
Beneath the Planet of the Apes Escape Fromthe Planet of the Apes Conquest of the Planet of the Apes Battle for the Planet of the Apes.

Coolest? I couldn't say, but the end of the trailer for Revenge of the Sith - with Darth Vader in the mask breathig absolutely gave me chills.
10. What, in your opinion, is the finest adaptation from a non-movie source to date?
To Kill a Mockingbird
11. What is the worst?

17. If you could only watch movies from a certain decade for the rest of your life, which decade would it be?
1990s
18. What is the best non-American film you have ever seen?
Again with the best stuff (see #1). For now I'll go with Ghost in the Shell.
19. What is your favourite piece of trivia about Hollywood, or an actor/actress, or a certain film, or whatever?
In the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still," Klaatu (the main character) rents a room at an address that's right down the street from where I live - although there's no house at that address now.
20. List your top three favourite directors, and some reasons why you chose them.
Sam Raimi
Terry Gilliam
Steven Spielberg
21. List your top three favourite actors, and some reasons why you chose them.
Bruce Campbell
Tom Hanks
That's all I can think of off the top of my head - there are plenty of other guys I like, but anyone I name would just be picking a name at random.
22. List your top three favourite actresses, and some reasons why you chose them.
No clue.
23. Describe your dream movie. Consider the cast and crew, genre, plot, etc.
Don't have one - but it would probably be one that would make a lot of money for me. Other than that, just something that would out of the blue just blow me away.
24. Share your strangest/sexiest/scariest/most unbelievable movie-related story. **Must actually involve you in some way.
Don't have one.
25. Would you do Catwoman? I know I would.
Catwoman is just a character - that would be kind of hard to do. But as far as some of the actresses that have portrayed her...
Special Optional Bonus for the Expansive and Long-Winded
List your personal Top 25 films, and why they're on there. The list does not have to be in order.
This is something that I'd just never be able to do.

...or the ass kicking rock of 2112, instead of bland apathetic rock loaded down with pretentious overtones.
Oxymoron if I've ever heard one. (and I used to listen to Rush every day).

Radio only plays the best songs.
Very untrue. The radio plays song that they think will keep people tuned into their station.

Besides, Dark Side of the Moon was on the Billboard album chart for more than ten years solid.
It was on the charts that long because the record company kept it on the charts that long. Back then, the charts were based on copies shipped by the company - not by copies actually sold at stores. When DSOTM would start to fall in the charts, they would ship out more copies to give it a boost.
The music/radio industries are far more manipulated than people want to believe. They always have been, and probably always will be.
You'd have to see the employee handbook and other documents signed by the employee. I know that if I (or any other employee at the hotel where I work) were to get one, it would be grounds for immediate dismissal - and the hotel would win if it ever went to court.
I don't know if you can truly understand why it's so popular without seeing the stage show that went with it.
I'm not too sure about that. The Wall has been incredibly popular ever sinc it was released. When they toured for the album, the wour consisted of 3 cities: Londodn, New York and Los Angeles. Most people never got to experience the live show - and yet it remains as one of the most popular albums ever recorded.
It's popular for the same reasons that any other music is popular over a long period of time. People like it. For the most part, people can't really explain why they like the music that they like - they know what types of music they like and how to describe the music that they like - but they really can't pin down why they like it - they just like it (and there's nothing wrong with that).
