I would emphasize that the last paragraph is much more flexible than the others. If you have a sweet deck that has no two drops it may not be ideal but could still be good. Don't cut good cards for terrible cards just to reach a minimum creature count or for curve reasons.
Edit: Oh and it might be good to tell the new player to ignore rarity. Rare doesn't always mean good.
Sure, most "mid-range" decks play the control role when playing aggro but step up the aggression when playing against full on control decks. In fact most decks have to do this somewhat unless they are suicide aggro, hard control or straight combo.
P1P1: I think I would have taken Torrent of Stone. Explosives is a good card in 5-color but so is Torrent and it is way more flexible.
P1P2: Summoner's Pact is not very good unless you already have a Meloku or something equally as bomby. Tacking Echo 2GG to most "good" creatures quickly makes them way less impressive. Tribal Flames would be my pick fits right into your Explosives plan.
P1P5: This is cleary Mulldrifter by a mile
P1P6: Woodreaders is good because its a Mulldrifter. A much more fair Mulldrifter but a 3for1 none the less.
P1P8: I think Gleam is the best Thalid card in the pack and the best Domain card in the pack. Paradise Mantle is not playable.
P1P11: I'd only play Plumeveil if I was solidly UW. If its not coming down early it is way less impressive.
P1P2: You dont have any blue cards. Trygon is just a 2/3 flyer a lot of the time and isnt worth splashing. Take the Search and stay on the domain plan.
P1P5: I would still be on the Domain plan and take Fiery Fall
After this point we would be making totally different decks so I'll stop here.
Yeah Fluxcharger p2 doesn't really make sense and it really throws off your whole draft from that point on. It was your only blue card after pack one and you continually reference cards as being "good with Fluxcharger" when it should be pretty clear that you aren't blue and aren't playing Fluxcharger.
If you had stuck to either GWr or GRw I think you deck would have been much better.
i have a follow up to this question. At the MM draft i went to there was a price list of the top 20 cards brought in by a player and on the table for all to see. how serious of an infraction is that?
If it was just a non comp+ REL draft at your LGS then it is not a serious infraction at all. It would be up to the judge running the event to decide if he wanted to allow it or not.
I'm curious, how do your matches work that you play 4 of them?
A lot of places will just fire drafts with as many players as they have. So if 14 players show up, you draft in two pods of 7 and the match ups are not pod specific for example.
Stores do this so they don't have to turn people away and while its not ideal, at FNM level I don't really have a problem with it.
Like what??? The problem is that you can't really stop it (with a single spell) when it's played on Turn 5 with access to an immediate copy. I don't recall seeing many answers like that in Gatecrash or Dragon's Maze.
There are a bunch of answers to turn 2 Pack Rat on the play now. Orzhov Charm, Dimir Charm, Devour Flesh, Killing Glare, Warped Physique, Homing Lightning and spells like Aetherize while not a direct answer can do the job as well.
Pack Rat on turn 5 is much less scary because there are numerous ways to beat it just by racing or w/e. At that point I don't think it's that much better than the other bombs in the format.
Umm people draft for months after sets come out. Are you asking to only draft 4 days a year?
If people want to cheat they can find a way if they really want to. The best strategy to avoid cheating is a positive store atmosphere. If you know the guy across from you and he is your friend its a lot harder to cheat.
Also if cheating is concerned I'd look for the store where the really good players play. In my experience those guys are more concerned at getting better at Magic then winning an extra pack or two. And even though its a stereotype and I know a bunch of awesome kids I'd avoid stores with a bunch on young players.
You are leaving so many powerful cards in your sideboard. In my experience you have to be a little greedy in sealed or have a very streamline aggressive strategy (which you definitely do not have). You have some absolutely trash cards in your deck like Beckon and Furious Resistance while leaving out Orzhov Charms, Auger Spree and Stab Wound.
I would play BRw splashing Assemble, Battleshaper, 2 Orzhov charms and maybe the Trostani Judgement.
You definitely can't help him build his initial deck. You won't even be sitting together and talking is not allowed. However after that you can look at his deck and give him advice on how to sideboard but he will always have to play the deck he registered game 1 of every match.
If the guild you are strongest in is a RTR guild I like this strategy because if the guy passing you in pack 1 is shipping good Selesnya cards then its fairly safe to assume he will be passing you good cards in pack 3.
However this is a little more risky if you replace Selesnya with a GTC guild like Boros. Even if you cut Boros hard in pack one there is no guarantee that the guy on your left isn't going to start taking Boros (maybe he got some strong Azorious/Rakdos/Izzet cards in pack one). If you went by your strategy (WRU) then you wouldn't be getting any good multicolored cards in pack two.
Just going to point out that you are not allowed to send signals during a draft by ordering the pack you send. In all competitive events like PTQs and GPs it is required that you shuffle the pack.

Also you should never played Trained Caracal.

Edit: I also don't like the Confessor, in comes Aristocrat. Get all the bears in there.
