How are these decks doing in your playtesting? What are the most glaring strengths and weaknesses? I'm really interested in BW, but I've only been able to goldfish on TappedOut.
Trying to put together a relatively affordable deck that allows zombies to be played from the graveyard effectively. You do mill yourself in the process, but it allows you to summon in quantity and often skips steps in the mana curve. On a good draw, you can have quite the army by turn 5. Once Rooftop Storm is out, you can flood zombies from your hand - this would work well with spells that return zombies from the graveyard to your hand, like Ghoulcaller's Chant.
Any thoughts/comments/suggestions? Gravecrawler is the most expensive card by a long shot, but it fits so well into the deck that I don't want to swap it out.
These are all great tips, guys. Once I find some downtime, I'll go over all of these card suggestions and see if I can compile a solid second-draft deck.
No, don't do this. It triggers on each of the enchanted player's upkeeps, so during your opponent's turn. There isn't a whole lot that triggering Bloodthirst will do for you if it's not during your turn.
Other than that, nice list. I've been looking for budget alternatives to Standard, and Bloodthirst has crossed my mind more than a few times.
EDIT: Also, I don't think you have the right idea on Geth's Verdict, either. The life lost due to the spell is not technically "damage," and as such does not trigger Bloodthirst.
I caught that upkeep thing the other day, so I won't be adding it. I didn't know that Geth's Verdict can't trigger Bloodthirst, though. Thanks for pointing that out.
So, I did an Innistrad prerelease sealed deck event yesterday and enjoyed it (despite getting crushed overall). Innistrad looks to be a fairly interesting block, so I got started with creating a couple of deck ideas.
This first one is a very cheap B/R vamp deck. Its focus is simple: use spells and effects to prevent your opponent from defending against your vampire onslaught. Most of the vampires gain power by attacking your opponent directly, so each wave will be significantly stronger than the last. The mana curve is pretty steady from 1, 2, and 3, then drops quite a bit for 4 and 5, allowing the player to cast a lot of cheap spells.
Well, it won't be that. I've tested the beta client on Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit (laptop and desktop) and trading has worked in both.
For some reason, you never see Dreadbore or Abrupt Decay in decks. At least, I don't.
This is a good deck, but not at all a budget one.
This does seem like a really good fit.

Hex Parasite has been cited in a couple of control discussions over the last few days, so it's probably worth sideboarding at the very least.

I second this. Geth's Verdict is great.
