The explanation of not noticing an extra card is weak. Every competitive game I play, I know every card in my hand, known cards in my opponents hand, and every relevant card in both graveyards at all times, even when I'm playing with my hand facedown in front of me. The guy was 12-1-1 or something, so he's not a bad player, and must have some concept of gamestate/hand/w/e zone interactions. How he didn't notice the extra facedown card is baffling.

You've gotta give a guy the benefit of the doubt, I guess, but it seemed like something most players should notice. Although, playing for Top 8 in a GP, maybe you don't. At least it didn't affect the match result.

There will always be a player base that wants to play powerful cards in a diverse and interactive format. Until those people prefer to play with bad cards or play terrible formats like Modern, Legacy will be fine.

Or im an aggro player and i dont like control.

Let this thread have 2 or 3 pages of arugeing and let it die off.

We get one every few days anyways.

Right? There should be a sticky. If there is one I'm unaware of, it should be in this sub-forum. Not that anyone would use it. People love making special snowflake posts.

There should be a sticky somewhere for topics like this. Call it "The Official 'Magic was Better Back in my Day' Thread" or "Get off My Lawn, Netdeckers" or something.

I don't get playing the lottery. You're pretty much just giving your money away to the government. I had a 10th grade Government teacher refer to the lottery as "The Idiot Tax" and that's pretty much how I view it.

Come to think of it, I guess I don't really get gambling in general. When I see something like: "You have $50 right now. You have a 999,999 out of 1,000,000 chance of turning that into $0, and a 1 out of 1,000,000 chance of turning it into $50,000,000." My brain processes it as: "You can keep your $50, or turn it into $0".

The lottery is for idiots. Don't lump all gambling into that, though. Gambling on sports allows people like me with a spreadsheet and way too much time on their hands to turn their extra income into even more extra income. If gambling were legal, of course.

Jeeez.. lots of crazy names in this topic. I'll be advocating for nice, normal, Irish (Anglicized) names for my sons. Sean, Brendan, Patrick, etc.. My wife can name any girls. Wouldn't object to an Ava or Katie, however.

Doubt it's anything insane. Maybe there's a new cycle of bad dual lands. Making all 10 playmats land seems so meh after they've done it for RTR and Gatecrash though. I want dragons and explosions on my playmats, dammit!

Can't wait for the "OMG 5 10 PLAYMATS + ANNIVERSARY= ORIGINAL SNOW DUALS" speculation post.

I've got Kor Firewalkers in my board over Warmth. Does basically the same thing Vs mono Red, but can block Goblin Guide, and is a win condition. Firewalker should do it. Firewalker with Jitte almost certainly will.

How many do you have in your sideboard though? Running 3 tutors + Warmth (or my preferred Circle or Protection) gives you a way higher chance of seeing it than seeing 1-2 boarded Firewalkers. Its more reliable, even if it may be slightly less effective.

Anyone going to the thing at Eudo this weekend? I'll be there for sure (barring any work)

For anyone planning on attending this, they're allowing 10 proxies. It's not listed on any signs up in the store (think it's in the Event details online?), so be aware of that if you want to test out some crazy expensive dream tech. Or just proxy some basics.

EDIT: Here's the event page w/ location, timing, rules

Apparently, someone's never seen Highlander. Wink No, we're going to be retconned to a bunch of Scotsmen who fight to end their immortality. But we'll be kind of like Oldwalkers, so at least we can get rid of this Brady nonsense. :p

You must not have seen the first awful sequel.

I've said this at least 5 times..

Creative has said that Nicol is not part of this -whatsoever- he is not involved with RTR.

Right, but how do you know Creative isn't misleading you so they can bust out a "Surprise! It really was Bolas and he made a maze and he brought the Eldrazi and he brought the Phyrexians and OM NOM NOM NOM RAVNICA"

Miracle can go rot in Storm/Dredge land. Ripping FlameWaveFireball off the top makes me want to punch my opponent in the face. I imagine whenever I get a timely Terminus my opponent feels similarly. It's a bad mechanic.

That may be the case, however, it's often the loudest members of any group that leads many to criticize it.

For example, in Canada we just see a bunch of angry people acting like drunken rednecks, demanding trivial nonsense like Obama's birth certificate. In addition, the news is probally to blame as well. Since the Tea baggers do make the daily news more interesting, especially for Fox.

Yeah. It's a case of of a few bad apples spoiling the bunch.

If you think Obama wasn't born in this country, you're an idiot. Anyone trying to discredit his presidency over that, or supposed character issues from 20 years ago, is pure sour grapes.

I don't get why dubstep artists (I don't even think they should be considered artists) attempt to dubstep everything.

There is good dubstep out there. Give Magnetic Man a listen, or any of the solo artists that comprise it. 90% of the "artists" that take established music and dub it are awful, and they've worn out the formula.

I'll be listening to a song, not know what it is, maybe kinda like it, and then 50 seconds in...bass drops.. I don't get the Tea party?

Are they all that crazy and ill informed?

I think the opposite is true. People are ill informed about the Tea Party. Most of their goals are pretty admirable. The delivery could use some work, though. Too much "we're an angry mob rarrrr" and not enough actual content.

I think there is a reason why Obama gained 90% of the votes in opinion polls done in the last days here in Germany.

Really? That's odd. I was under the impression Germany was fairly fiscally responsible.

Obama is about as far as you can get from fiscally responsible. You may have heard our country has a problem with debt. For all his posturing, the President has done pretty much nothing to actually reduce our deficit. Anyone remember his bipartisan debt resolution research panel? They told him to slash social spending across the board and to gut the defense program's budget. He was adamantly against it. He's also unwilling to raise taxes. Raising taxes and/or cutting spending is the only way to reduce a deficit. I'm not sure whether he doesn't care about the debt crisis, or doesn't think it's an issue.
