Most of which I was thinking of were trusted machete darksteel axe or maybe a sword or two. The machete and axe are low costing and able to help with poison counters but also require some extra mana which seems like a downfall for fast kills. Also anyone have and B/U/G variants?
I understand many of the ideas in this deck but why not add some equipment? Instead of 4 of each of the pump spells why not take out 3 and add 3 types of equipment?
Just getting into magic again after quitting for about..3 1/2 years I think and since I don't want to buy cards for decks that will cycle out very soon I made a version of this deck.
Not to sure on SB atm but it works okay. As for MD if you have any questions lemme know but I did test out quite a few cards from stuff I read and so far this seems to be working quite well. Ran this at my FNM last week and took first going 5-1 losing one round to a baneslayer with whispersilk cloak and couldn't find answer.
I dont know if I'll play Zoo or Grull tomorrow....the last regional of 3.
Other 2 I played with D.Storm, did Top8 in one and 1-2 drop on the second, but I didnt got the slot to Nats.
I'm a huge fan of Zoo, I'm playing it since last year, but in the regionals I give my Zoo deck to a friend cause he dont have decks, only play.
I think Zoo is better, but less consistant and here comes the doubt...
My version of Zoo plays 22 lands and at least 2 Solifuge main...No Goyf I guess.
Get the goyfs if you dont have them. If you do then run them cuz they add a great effect into this deck a 3/4 or 4/5 for 2 is nuts. Plus when you drop goyf you shoul have dealt at least 10 damage not to mention what pressure you have on the board plus burn. They are great in this deck and I would say play zoo. Gruul to me seems to take on a control form when going against zoo which is degrading considering grull is an aggro deck. I prefer zoo to gruul. I was more of a gruul fan until i kept getting beat down with gruul against zoo so just letting you know zoo is crazy fast :).
I'm not normally a T2 player, but I'm planning on bringing this deck to regionals. I have only a minimal knowledge of the format. I'm looking at running a version similar to the one Flores posted in his column:
I'm curious how this deck sideboards. I understand that Tormod's Crypt is for the Dredge matchup. Can anyone explain the timing of when to blow (or play if you should hold it back) the Crypt to properly shut down this combo? Also what does Moldervine Cloak side in against? Would cards like Cryoclasm and Krosan Grip also be solid options? I would like to side the Grip for an answer to CoP:Red. Finally, how do we shut down Project X combo? Advice, comments, etc. are greatly appreciated.
Edit: Yay! 500 posts!
As a gruul and project X player I can tell you if you have a seal on board px wont want to combo off cuz what you can do is in response to them sacrificing saffi ,with crypts secon ability on the stack, you sac the seal in response to there sac and there is no legal target to combo off since crypt was dead. Also any general burn to stop them is awesome to just do the same thing in response to saccing. On another note if, since your running sulfur two on board mean no saffi combo :). With your side put in magus leyline and crypt. You should be good but, Px will just go beatdown route if they can't combo....I love doing that to as I am more of an aggro player anyways. Hope that helps you play against Px better.
I would say Castigates would work just as good, you just have to keep the Gigadrowse out of thier hand, that way you can Shadow of Doubt them when they try to go off.
Yeah im looking for shadow of doubts to so im kinda limited on the SB cards but currently working on what i need.
If they extirpate your crypt champ your an idiot
The only time the champ is in ur graveyard is the time you go off
I don't know about you but i never play an modified champ
To take out dragonstorm play discard suite of persecute and nightmare void(all of which should be sb)
glare helps game 1, but not much else
Ahh you see I have no persecutes but will try to find before I play this deck again.
I have a question. I played this deck at my fnm and only lost to dragonstorm due to him comboing off before I did. What is a way to stop the dragonstorm from happening or to protect against it?
I kind of like where he's headed, Especially with Bitter Ordeal as another win condition. What do you think?
I havent played the deck long enough yet and im still searching for a few cards for it but i was considering bitter ordeal. Gravestorm woul work nicely in this deck but it would have problems with decks with blue like dralnu and U/R tron.
Well in my meta its not really needed to have it main board but SB is good for it. I guess if i go up to bigger tournaments i may put it mb since more people will be playing better decks mostly control that needs those duals but for now sb is fine for me.
Ive been playing the LD control version of this deck for a while now and im finding a hard time doing so. My guess is im not doing it right and will test more with it in the week but being more of an aggro player i do like the looks of the aggro versions and will test with it also. Im also going to change mana in my deck since im having troubles think that might be an issue. Either way they are 2 different decks having different focus in game and like i said im more aggro so i may switch to that if i continue to have troubles :).
So ive been having major troubles with dralnu or mass counters. I dont know if it has been stated earlier in the thread about how to beat but could someone let me know. Thanks:).

I would say take out the enforcer MD since you have one sideboard and add in another essence warden so you can try to get the combo earlier.
