I ended up going 3-1 (Losing against Infect) on Tuesday and decided to change it up for Friday. It is updated for the new decklist that is working out much better.
I really miss the MD Timely's though, and am trying to squeeze in at least 2, just not sure what to drop at the moment (Been contemplating going to 26 lands and maybe a Think Twice)
Besides that, I am loving the updated list. 6 MD wincons has seemed like a solid number but might drop a WSZ for some more draw.

Oct 28, 2011Kamahlrf posted a message on "Junk" Birthing PodI am liking the changes compared to my own list and am going to give the no mana dorks a shot today. My local meta is solar flare heavy and I am curious with YOUR SB setup, how does the deck fair against it? I am not sold on my SB setup and am looking to make changes since I can't seem to find a correct balance for aggro/graveyard controlPosted in: FuneralofGod Blog

Oct 18, 2011Kamahlrf posted a message on "Junk" Birthing PodI see you dropped the Manadorks for more consistent 2 drops and up. I agree with this in a control-heavy meta~Posted in: FuneralofGod Blog
I see you're running 1 Grave Titan MD. Why Grave over Sun? Just personal preference or because of your local meta? - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

U/W Delver with Geists
U/W Delver with Splicers
"Mono" Delver with Augur
Followed by which equipment for which deck
1 Ghost Quarter
1 Negate
2 Flashfreeze
3 Timely Reinforcements
2 Divine Offering
2 Dismember
1 Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite
1 Ratchet Bomb
2 Celestial Purge
I feel like this covers all the bases that I have to deal with in my local meta.
Interesting: I have been contemplating dropping a WSZ for something, just wasn't sure what, certainly is an option. As for Dismembers, what would you suggest removing from SB? I find the Timely's necessary in my local meta, and the Divine Offerings I find a must against Infect. I generally don't need to land Elesh and have found her a win-more instead of a wincon.
With my current build, what would you suggest to side in/out against Infect?
Any suggestions to changes for SB is appreciated as well, but I have no problem with any other deck.

10-7-11 FNM: 3-0-0 (Late start, ended in only 3 rounds)
Round 1: RDW = 2-0
Viewed his deck afterwards, was typical RDW build. I managed my favorite play against aggro, being
T1 Dork
T2 Splicer
T3 swing, Pod, sac for Extomber, grabbing Splicer
T4 Splicer, swing, sac Extomber, blabla
Kept up my momentum and they couldn't break it. Laid down a Spellskite absorbing their one MD Grudge.
Game 2 was what you would expect: 3-4 Ancient Grudge, which he kept a starting hand of 2 and topdecked a third. He ate through 2 of my Pods and a Golem, since my starting hand was almost the same as the first, with the addition of Glissa, bringing back my Pods. Sided in Grave since I have found him fantastic against Aggro right now and scooped once he hit the board with 4 3/3 golems and a Thrun in play.
Round 2: Tezz Infect 2-0
Had a decent hand but this deck gave me some trouble Game 1. Phyrexian Crusaders, Inkmoths, Stingers, etc along with Tezz to make Inkmoth more difficult to deal with. A quick rampup to Massacre Wurm wiped out his board while Golems dealt with Tezz. Ended up having to Beast Within his big Inkmoth. Ended up @ 8 poison.
Game 2: He mulled down to 5 and ended up sitting on 2 land the whole game and scooped on turn 6-7 once I laid down Grave Titan w/ golems everywhere.
Round 3: RDW 2-0
Same as Round 1 really: Golems held him off long enough for me to ramp up to Massacre -> Elesh to seal it with a hard casted Sun Titan turn 6. Game 2 went the same as well.
I enjoy the state it is in right now, although Solar Flare is a headache. Thank god RDW can beat it down, which I typically have a better matchup against.
This ^
At least for Junk, the best scenario I hope to come across is T1 dork, T2 Slicer, T3 swing, Pod away Slicer for w/e (Usually Sadbot)

Viridian Emissary held me back every game~ 9 times out of 10 I find myself starting my Pod chain @ 3 regardless.
Up'd the count on Unburial Rites to 3. Every game I found myself thinking "Damn, wish I had more." It just further helps the toolbox, and adding another one only helped.
I can safely say that it has become 1-2 turns faster while holding the toolbox together and being able to handle RDW and Snapcaster's better. The one thing I do want to try is Reaper instead of Sun Titan, but all 3 of my local stores were sold out, hopefully they have one by Friday.
Can't wait to test this out more on Friday!
Edit: I am aware that my SB is missing 1 card, it is still a work in progress with trying to get a grip on my local meta.
It doesn't shut Steel down, but it certainly makes it much slower, giving me enough time for a win. I have about a 40/60 win rate with Steel game 1, and haven't lost to it after SB. Creeping Corrosion keeps popping up in lists I see and it seems handy but most of the time they can't sneak by Blade Splicer's golems after Steel is off the board.
Since most Junk players are running artifact/enchantment removal MD as it is, I would say Surgical Extraction would work out better as a SB pick. I have tried both and found Extraction to just shut them down (Pod and Steel). IMO of course, but still: Extraction > Revoke

Thanks @ Funeral, Frox for the helpful discussion and bouncing ideas off each other when needed to get it where it is now.
The only question I have is really more of a "wait and see" since I have to adjust my SB and the 7-drop(s) according to how my local meta plays out. From the playtesting I have done so far, I really enjoy my SB.
I meant the community in general with that "You", not directed specifically at you Sorry about that heh.
Nod nothing is being forced, agree to disagree That is what these forums are for in the first place: to discuss. I have to agree with seeing at least 1 Dismember MD in just about every deck, so I fear he's just going to fall too fast, plus @ the 4 solid black cmc, just deters me away even further.
From playtesting, it seems the big threats people are expecting are Temp Steel, Pod variants, etc. Doom Blade is more restricted to what it is capable of as to where Beast Within can get rid of any board threat. Sure they get a 3/3, but it's just a 3/3. I will gladly give it to them to have a card with that much more wiggle room. As for O Rings: From what I have seen, peoples lists are just short of white in general while relying more on the other colors that they choose. Not that O Ring is a bad choice, I just feel there will be better solutions since the meta SEEMS to be favored heavy in enchantments/artifacts
I do indeed run Sheoldred. From my testing, it seems that the CMC7 drop is mainly going to dwindle down to waiting to see how the meta plays out.
The Distress + Surgical helps shut down Tempered since they don't really have an answer to it, plus it can get rid of Pods in mirror matches, or Snapcasters. I'm finding it much more useful this time around as compared to last "season".
@ Sanguines: It all comes down to preference and to see which puts out higher numbers. Right now the "General" community (Don't jump @ me just because YOU disagree) agrees that Blue is not needed, and have been leaning more towards Junk, Jund and Naya.
