If you're playing an aggro deck, and you play this turn two, and your opponent....What's removal these days? Bile Blights it,
Didn't they effectiely, within the confines of mana
And the context of the game thus far,
Use prime removal on a Walking Corpse?
Ok, Surrak is pretty sick, if only for the reason that you can chord of calling him up to counter an essence scatter, and he has the Nylea trample ability, and that is usually quite relevant. I also quite like quiet contemplation. Creatureless control get's marginally better, I suppose, though it may just be a tempo card.
Assuming you have 8 mana/dudes while having a creature spell on the stack? Seems rough. He also doesn't have the Nylea trample ability because he himself doesn't trample (which would have been more powerful than giving other dudes trample).
I feel that people are going crazy over this guy for his more over what's printed on his card; his card itself is pretty miserable - 6/6 uncounterable for 5 is meh at best, and the only thing remotely interesting about him is flash. The other dudes are uncounterable clause requires you to have dudes, your opponent to have counterspells, and your other creatures to be relevant after dropping a 6/6. The other dudes have trample clause requires you to play enough other big dudes without trample to be relevant, and as was stated several times, he has no built-in evasion.
The fact that he's immune to sorcery-speed removal the turn you play him is nice, but he just gets chumped and then killed anyway (assuming your opponent had no instant-speed removal).
The format where mass uncounterability and trample would be relevant is EDH, but in general Teferi is just better, and as a general Animar, Riku, and Wanderer are all better.
Terra Stomper exists, and gets +2/+2 and trample at the expense of 1 mana and not having flash. Flash is the only thing saving Surrak from being utterly boring, and even that's not good enough to make him mechanically exciting.
Also, against Elspeth, he comes down, Elspeth chumps, and then -3s to kill him if her player couldn't find an easier way. 4 additional power in creatures would be required to prevent her from doing so, and 7 additional power would be required to kill her completely.
Temur is clan Winmor, and why win if you cant win more? I see nothing wrong with winmor. It's better than winnotquite

more vigorous efforts than ever before." -Herodotus
I'm surprised to see this is a card with Mardu flavor.
They don't seem like the clan who would take out aggression with mere threats and ill intentions.
If you want to smash Sarkan's helm, why not go ahead and do it?
Is he afraid?
I'm not sure what you mean. It looks like Zurgo is in the process of doing something to Sarkhan, as he seems to be in pain. Maybe he's crushing his gibblets and we just can't see it.
It's nice to have a morph card, just for safe keeping.
And a goblin, over eager to fight? Cute.
Have we seen a card that produces a spiritual warrior yet?
I wonder how that zombie feels? What's with zombies loving gold these days?

Is he afraid?
Is he a hero?
Do people respect that he will not protect them?
Is it his sheer grit, and refusal to perish in battle?
Maybe they just celebrate that he's on their side.
I just realized that his pelt is a bear head split in two. That's bad preservation.
I can't help but wonder what of these cards will see play.
Probably not bear fights.
But the possibilities are there for the other three.
A tear shed for outlast mythics lost. Really do appreciate the hydra love though! Sick art too!
Well now, hey, don't count this out as a non Outlast mythic. Look at the uncommon revealed tonight. "Creatures with +1/+1 counters have lifelink." Sure this doesn't have ooutlast, but it DOES get buffed by everything that buffs outlast.
I'm the one who hates on people who constantly complain during spoiler season.
So it hurts me inside to say this.
This card might be the worst card I've ever seen at rare. Only hits you every other turn at best? It hinders a LOT more than it helps. I can't justify this one at all.
Sorrow's Path was an uncommon in its only paper release. It was bumped to rare on MTGO so people wouldn't pull it as much.
And Search the City at least did something fun.
Okay, how about Wood Elemental? I can't possibly see how any creature could be worse than him.
Alright, THAT one is worse. I'll totally agree about that.
Durdle Turtle is ONE of the worst rares in MTG history.
Since when is a creature that blocks every none flier in the set and kills most of them for 5 mana a bad card? For five mana, this should only be a 3/3. I miss non aggro magic >:
And won 15 packs total.
Three fetches and a foil Polluted Delta.
Only one Mythic though.

However...this set has a lot of counterspells.

Wink.
I bet it would power a Nivix Cyclops nicely.
