I am glad someone else sees the value of internal tutor. I just played in a tournament to win abox of modern masters 2017 and the only reason i did not make top 4 was losing game 3 to a saheeli which pinged me while i could not top deck a rack effect. Probably 8 turns and notjinf. The infernal will be rack #9 and i am trying it. As you say hellbent is usually your position in mid game when you need this.

Tarotplz, I don't worry about the opponent getting first turn discard as our deck is very redundant and unless it is some critical SB card I feel that they are probably just going to take our Thoughtseze or IOK. In reference to Amulet Titan I have very little experience as it is not played at all at our FNM and only one at the other store I play. Once again getting them to mulligan an opening 7 is very strong and smallpox is huge here in its role of an LD spell. Once the Titan resolves you are usually done for and at this point smallpox is too late. I feel thoughtseizing a Titan and then surgical extraction on it is your best play.

I second Sir Francois on asking if anyone could post the Tom Ross premium article he did a couple of days ago on SCG. You can read the first half and just when he starts explaining his sideboarding it ends! Playing at an FNM tonight and would like to know his SB decisions. And I know, I should just pony up for Premium before anyone mentions this.

I have been playing monoblack 8 rack for about 2 years. Reading everything one can and reading/contributing to forums I would say that you take the draw in all cases except the following 3 cases. The reason being that the mulligan rule encourages people to go down a card and try again. With 8 rack this means game 1 your opponent will be encouraged to go from 7 to 6 and perhaps beyond on the play. This makes your objective of getting them to zero cardsin their hand so much easier and if they end up mana screwed then it can be game over with your smallpox. The exceptions are Affinity where you need to get two looks and opportunities to discard any Cranial Platings which really is a game winner if it gets on the board. The second is against Grixis Control running Ancestral Visions as you need to get this out of their hand before they play it turn 1. Similarly any deck able to play out a Chalice on 1, turn 1 such as Sun and Moon but of course this is a very rare deck to see these days.

Smallpox in 8 rack makes u play the deck in a totally different way. I have read so many threads, primers articles and some have a real fear of the card. My suggestion is play it in your deck for a few weeks. if you find yourself SB it out then you probably cannot get over the effect and I would abandon 8 rack as it's the real game changer. The other part of playing 8 rack is letting your opponent play first, it is so important to do this excepting very fast aggressive decks. Beyond this the inclusion of bridge is fine but recognize that your curve is substantially changed and you are into 24 land. For SB I love 3-4 surgically especially when u know your meta.

Looking at your deck list it looks good although u could go with 4 Urborg, tomb of yawgmoth and a 3 mutavault/1 blinkmoth nexus in place of 8 of the swamps as the man land damage has helped get me to 20 damage in numerous Fnm matches. The blinkmoth can be nice with bridges as you can draw a card swing in the air for 1 and then play the card/pitch to lily. I have never tried bob in 8 rack but turning on their creature removal game 1 seems bad and 2 funeral charm Md can enable a 4/1 mutavault or 1 toughness removal at instant speed.

I would like to first say just how excellent the art of so many remains on this site. Kudos to all who post and demonium I continue to be in awe of your work.

My question is what do folks use for magnification (if at all) when altering?
I am looking to treat myself for Christmas and wondered if a certain type and brand is preferred.

    Seasons Greetings to all.

Another option is to look at the Red/Green Zoo deck on this forum! With 4 Arid Mesa and the two Misties u already own the 3 color route is probably just doable with 1 each of the 3 Ravinca duals, although I would definetly drop the Thoctar to two or altogether. of Thalia are awesome in this deck and really hurts decks that hurt you like burn. Also as mentioned go with 4 PtE over 4 Stp. They can even be used on your own creatures to fetch a land u need.

If you own two bezerks great but if not u dont need them. Drop the 4 Copperline Gorge as with 4 taigas and all the fetches you are well mana fixed and leaving yourself open to problems from Wastelands. Vithian Renegades are a sideboard card. Split your 4 REB's to 2 and 2 Pyroblast to help against Surgical Extraction type cards. Same with Crypts go 2 and 2 Relic of Progenitus. I think the Skyshroud Elites are also sideboard as a lot of Legacy players cannot afford the expensive manabases so you play against alot of decks with mostly basic lands. You could add 4 Scabclan Maulers as suggested to sub here. Being red/green if you can afford Grove of the Burnwillows they and Punishing Fires are awesome. Sarkhan Vol is fun but your speed suffers and he does not work well with the Bloodbraids.

The Pox list is a great option. I would sub 4 Inquistion of Kozilek for the Funeral Charms. Add 3 Mishras Factory (4th edition about $3 each) for 3 swamp, drop the 4 Idols and add 2 more Racks and 2 Geths Verdict.

I think 20 lands is fine but I would replace the 3 Kabira with 3 Windbrisk Heights. Also 1 Kami of False Hope can be a good silver bullet. 4 Matyrs of Sand and 4 Mothers are a must. I would drop Mirran Crusaders to sideboard and consider Path to Exile over Stp as sometimes the quick kill is on and here an Stp can hurt. Also the deck is then Modern legal as well. Other than that the deck seems to have the optimal creatures as far as existing Tournament listings are concerned. TC decks is a good resource for this.

You could keep it all green as it keeps it more budget avoiding expensive mana fixing lands. If so obviously 4 Glisteners is essential and the 4 Inkmoth are expensive but awesome. With these drop the Plague Myrs to dsaty at 16 creatures and add 4 forests. Drop the Thrones of Geth and 4 of the rest of your spells. Bezerk take this out of budget consideration so i would not bother with those. Additions would be 3 Livewire Lash and perhaps 2 or 3 Revenge of the Hunted. If you do add black, Phyrexian Crusader gives Legacy decks fits, I know having lost to it many times!

I really like your deck Daut. However your casting costs are high and you will often struggle to put down creatures in the first two turns. I really like the Funeral Pyre plan as a cheap surprise blocker which essentialy becomes removal. This also plays well with your March of Souls. If you play March of Souls other considerations would be Thunder Totem and Promise of Brunei as they survive a board wipe and then make spirits. Finally Absolute Law out of the sideboard is great as it gives all creatures pro red and this can often be better than Leyline of Sanctity as burn decks often pack creatures and with protection you can race.
