I just saw that!
I like it, but I'm not sure what land I can spare to get it into the deck.
Definitely don't want to be cutting back on a manland due the limited blockers in the deck... I'm not sure I can fit it in.
Not updated any posts because Modern Horizons was a bit lacking on decent artifacts unless you're into your Sword of something and something.
Shame. On to M20!

May 22, 2019Posted in: Multiplayer Commander DecklistsQuote from Bigmanaplays.com »Is there a reason you haven't included Karn, the Great Creator in your list? It seems extremely good early for cutting out other players Sol Rings, Mana Vaults, Grim Monoliths, etc? You could then include Mycosynth Lattice for multiple win cons. Turn off everyone else's lands with Karn out, wipe everyone else's permanents with Darksteel Forge/Nev's Disk.
I’ve tested Karn 3.0 both using a sideboard to find mycosynth lattice and having the lattic in the 99.
The problem is the deck only runs a handful of creatures he’s very difficult to keep alive.
With the other three walkers I run, I play them, use an ability (which is removal) and can’t then bank on them sticking around. If they live (which is never),great. If the die (they always die), so be it.
For Karn to be of any use he has to be protected. All that happens with the Karn/lattice combo is every player for a full rotation simply attacks Karn to death and the combo is ended. If you can’t tap your llanowar elves for mana what do you do with it? Smash it into Karn.
I’m not saying he’s a bad card and in the right deck it’s a table scoop but to run him I need to add so many more blockers it just becomes about trying to get one fragile combo to take.
I also used to run mycosynth lattice for a while but found it to underperform somewhat so needed up removing it. Without Karn out and only a small number of ways to tutor For Karn, it’ll just be a dead card again
May 6, 2019I didn't want to remove any of the existing removal for Newgin because he can't hit colourless permanents.Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
If I run out of gas I can use cards like duplicant to remove my own Kozilek for recast and another four cards.
The reason I took out Azor's gateway was because Ugin can kind of filter it the same way, but he temporarily exiles the card you need, rather than a card you don't. Although it hurt to remove a 2 drop for a 6 drop!
I know what you mean about the prerelease hype, the reason I got it now rather than when the hype went down was because I had budget for it now and knew later I'd be skint!
May 5, 2019How's about odric, lunarch marshal to really push that damage through. I prefer his ability to Angelic skirmisher's especially as your general has so many of the abilies he looks at.Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
Angel's trumpet is hilarious in a build like this. Really skuppers tokens and grants all your creatures vigilance.
I think this only popped into my head because of the angel theme but it's a solid card regardless.

Not loving karn, scion of urza in this deck.
Have you considered venser, the sojourner to reset one of your clones?
faerie artisans are awesome to abuse your opponents etb effects... watch out for phage though!
May 1, 2019Yeah, I did see that rule 13 was a thing.Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
Currently working on testing the new cards.
Even though my play group allow sideboards I don't think I'm going to run the new Karn.
With the small number of creatures in the deck there's no way he could survive a rotation of the table and he'd just be wasted.
Getting back an exiled card would be good after a graveyard exile and he's got nice synergy with semblance anvil for those who run it but you can't count on both of them up at the same time.
I don't run lattice at the moment and I don't think I'm going to add the two due to the combo not sticking during combat. He's too fragile.
I'm testing ugin, the ineffable, blast zone and emergence zone.
They're all going to go into the deck ultimately but it's more about removing the right card than adding them!
Apr 26, 2019I had a similar thing the other day. Had all my rocks stolen by a treasure nabber which the player then cast multiple copies of tinker and sacked them all away.Posted in: Commander (EDH)
That was a solid case of "that card's banned dude, sorry but you can't sac the rocks" and we went on with the game.
He genuinely didn't know tinker was on the list and was cool with it.
I think as long as the table aren't rude about it and as long as all players don't mind then do whatever but I think if even one player objects, then the banned cast should be set aside and draw a replacement if it was top decked or tutor if it was tutored.
I think the golden rule in this situation is to just be a reasonable human being!
Apr 25, 2019So I've done some trawling and this is kind of where all the key characters to do with Ravnica are at before the book (mostly copy pasted from the mtg wiki) :Posted in: Magic Storyline
After Bolas's crushing defeat of the Gatewatch on Amonkhet and the collection of his Eternal Army, he sent Tezzeret to fetch Ral. In his name, Ral schemed to take control of the Izzet League on Ravnica. He also turned Project Lightning Bug into a beacon to call other planeswalkers to Ravnica. However, his loyalty was divided. When Ral made a device to fulfill Niv-Mizzet's plan of stealing the power of the Guildpact, Dovin Baan found out and played along until right before Bolas' arrival on the plane and then sabotaged the device, leaving Jace as the Living Guildpact.
After realizing that Tezzeret was not the true mastermind behind the Planar Bridge, Baan decided to look for Tezzeret's master. Walking right into Bolas claws, he was taken in by the dragon's intelligence and "flawless planning". Bolas then offered Dovin something Dovin couldn't turn down, the chance to reshape a plane into flawless and ordered efficiency. Since his first visit to Ravnica to recruit the Gatewatch, Dovin had itched to improve the guild system, so he willingly jumped at the chance to take over the Azorius Senate on Ravnica. Manipulating the system from the inside he exploited one loophole after another to disrupt the chain of command - occupying judges and senators with often-overlooked (but technically required by law) paperwork, rescheduling key meetings, and arranging the ousting of people in key positions of power Dovin emerged as the new head of the Lyev Column, replacing the unpopular hussar Agmand Sarv. When Isperia was killed by Vraska, he took over as guildmaster. As guildmaster, Dovin showed the guild how to make spy thopters and to use precognitive mages to arrest people before crimes would be committed.
When Ral Zarek made a device to fulfill Niv-Mizzet's plan of stealing the power of the Guildpact, Dovin found out and played along until the right before Bolas arrival on the plane and then sabotaged the device, leaving Jace as the Living Guildpact.
In Bolas' Meditation Plane, the dragon read her mind and witnessed the false memory created by Jace, in which Vraska had found Azor and turned him, along with all her challengers, into gold using the power of the Sun. Pleased, the dragon called her "Guildleader Vraska" and rewarded her with the information where Jarad was imprisoned. As Vraska set out to petrify Jarad, she couldn't help but feel that both she and Bolas missed something very important during their meeting.
Back on Ravnica, Vraska has killed Jarad and has established herself as guildmaster. She is helped by the Erstwhile (which are more durable and intelligent, than regular Golgari rot zombies), and the Kraul. The Devkarin are bitter about this and are wanting the current Matka, Izoni to take over. By order of Bolas, Vraska kills Isperia after the guild summit.
Lavinia managed affairs while Jace was away on Zendikar and Innistrad, dealing with the Eldrazi threat. Afterwards, she was informed about his planeswalker nature and his affiliation with the newly formed Gatewatch. After some ratifications from Jace, she was willing to allow them in his residence. When Dovin Baan arrived from Kaladesh to hire the Gatewatch as a security force, Lavinia also brought news of a series of petrifications of several influentual Azorius members. This led Jace to suspect that Vraska could have returned. Lavinia was tasked to cooperate with Gideon Jura to learn more about the assassinations. When Chandra disappeared along with Liliana, Lavinia forbade Jace to leave Ravnica again for such a long time, reminding him of his duties as the Living Guildpact. Jace left anyway when Liliana Vess reported that she had seen Tezzeret on Kaladesh.
Jace's disappearance worried her, but she steadfastly refused to violate the law of the land by stepping into his duties. However, she refused to acknowledge Dovin Baan's authority when he became guildmaster after Isperia's assassination by Vraska.
Kaya resurfaced on Ravnica, as part of the Orzhov Syndicate. Bolas hired her to kill the Obzedat and become guildmaster of Orzhov in exchange for him helping her "troubled family". Despite Teysa warning against it, Kaya has been freeing people from the debt they owe the guild, particularly the bound ghosts. On the other hand, she heightened the tithes on the population, until riots ensued.
With the help of Bolas he rose up through the ranks of the Gruul, becoming the guildmasterby defeating the cyclops Borborygmos. The shaman Nikya sees his ascension as the first sign of the coming of the End-Raze. As the precarious accord among the guilds teetered on the brink of collapse, Domri led the Gruul in a concerted effort to tip the world into chaos. He amassed an enormous mob to rampage through the city streets, making sure that every guild suffered painful losses to keep them at each other's throats
If that helps anyone else's confusion then good job me!
Apr 24, 2019So I’ve just had the War of the Spark novel delivered and upon reading the first few pages there seem to be some massive gaps in the storyline from the point we left on Dominaria and the Core Set 19 Bolas back story.Posted in: Magic Storyline
The Ravnica and Ravnica Alliegance stories seem to have just been buying time with filler until the book release but there’s no real context to the novel due to the massive gaps in story.
Or did I just miss an article that had all the info on what happened during the last two sets?
Without book spoilers can anyone link me where I can find the info because I honestly can’t find it anywhere!
Apr 18, 2019Rasputin101 posted a message on Feather, the Redeemed - Weaponised Jankmas IncarnateWoo, more people on the feather train!Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
I'm smashing a list together abusing ETBs with cards like sunblast angel to scupper incoming attacks.
I've being fiddling about with dual casting and pyromancer's goggles but not sure how much I love them. Work well with cards like fireball and Aurelia's fury but are fairly useless on spells like expedite.
