The MOTL forums are down again. No word from Leshrac, the site founder, on when he expects the forums to be active again.

All MOTL'ers can hang out at http://www.nderdog.com/forum/ while we wait for the forum to come back online.

FYI, from Leshrac's post on MOTL:

MOTL's server went down around midday on Tuesday of last week and wouldn't reboot. Further investigation revealed an unresponsive hard drive. Normally this wouldn't be a huge problem since the server is set up with a RAID configuration, but sometimes those fail too, and it did. So, with no recent backup due to cost constraints, the hard drive had to be taken to a data recovery firm. After a week with them, the good news was that there wasn't a head crash so they were able to recover all the data without the expense becoming astronomic, but the bad news was that it still ended up costing $1,280.

Leshrac pays the server bills out of his own pocket. So, if you want to help, visit http://www.magictraders.com and click on the PayPal link to donate something to "the cause."

MOTL's own nderdog has setup a board specifically for those waiting for MOTL to return.

You can see it here: http://nderdog.com/forum/index.php

For those of you (such as myself) who use MOTL as their primary source of buying/selling/trading and price guide reference, do you have a backup site you prefer in situations such as these?

You might try the trade matcher. It is interesting. Just put your card name in the box in the upper right corner of the screen.

The prices probably come from MOTL so I don't know how long they will be good.

Keyword in my post was "may". Doesn't look like yours was ever archived. Sorry. I hope nothing is lost when MOTL comes back online.

BTW, here is the direct link to MOTL: http://209.81.10.50/

http://www.magictraders.com is not working for me (even as much as the above direct link works). For some reason the DNS can not resolve magictraders.com and I'm not sure why.

Even if you didn't backup your refs, you may still be able to find them at the Internet Archive WayBack Machine.

For example, here are my refs: BoltBait's Ref List
It is only missing my last 2 refs.

I have a tattoo of the U.S. Coast Guard shield on my left shoulder.

I always wanted a tattoo but I wanted to get something that I would NEVER be embarrassed of. I have known people with a devil or naked woman tattooed on their body. I would have a hard time explaining that to my children.

does anyone into if the phone number used to register motl is the same as he is currently using. I was considering calling him and posting an update.

I don't know the phone number, but I can tell you that Val called him a few days ago and basically found out the same information. (Leshrac is aware of the outage and he is working on it as fast as he can.)

I didn't make it up, but I think "1000 Blank White Cards" is really cool.

Best if played in a large multi-player game.

I imagine that the MOTL server problems have boosted MTGSalvation's numbers a bit. Cool
