I just want some clarification on this one.

When both Humility and Lord of Atlantis (or any other creatures who has a static effect of giving a +1/+1) will be in play, is timestamping needed in order to see which one wins?

From my understanding of the layers, both abilities are under Layer 6. So if Humility is already in play and Lord of Atlantis enters the battlefield, the lord will still give +1/+1 (Which is in Layer 7 btw) and Islandwalk to the other merfolks?

    Please let me know. Thanks!

I'm assuming that you will be using this for the local meta?

Your deck will be very slow and Remora will become useless. Island, Remora, Mox is needed as a first turn play. Next turn, you pay with the mox for Remora, then play a land again and that is where the broken part comes in. You have just gained tempo and you just gained lots of card advantage.

Think if you will play, Island, Remora. Most probably, your opponent does not do anything on his turn. Next turn you pay, drop an island. You just lost it there.

With a ton of aggro decks here in our local meta, most of the time Remora is not useful. You die to Goblins, which I am predicting will be a major force coming back in our local meta.

You can try, but will only work if you metagamed correctly.

I like the art on this one than the old one. But I like original foils though. lol

I wonder how much our Standard players will sell this to us Vintage players?

The best deck Teeg is used in is in Dawn of the Dead. Wink
Even though a lot say that Teeg is weak in this deck, its still needed in here because a maindecked Teeg is one of the best weapons you have against combo along with the Duress and Thoughseizes.

I'm surprized there wasn't a flash deck in the top 8. I'm pretty sure that is the best combo deck available in vintage right now.

I am sorry to say but Flash is not really the best combo deck right now.
The thing with Flash is.. its like Oath. When you have stupid draws, and don't have Flash in hand, you can't win. It is good but only for its raw power. Its not the best combo deck out there but it is one of the simplest to use.

I'm very happy to see that R/G won even though I am not that much enthusiastic regarding his disruption. But hey, he won and shows that it can be done.

Thank God that its not like the last time where the top 8 showed a total of 32 pieces of Gush...

I can't believe that this guy ranted all the way up here...
What next? SCG and TMD? Sheesh...

Basically, we have a good distributor of MTG here in the Phils. Like these guys are number one when it comes to importing not only MTG, but also other products / TCGs out there (DnD, VS, WoW, HeroClix, etc.)

This guy just had an argument with the distributor. Its business. He lost money and the distributor did not care anymore about him because of BAD business principles and looks like he was cut off from the distributor totally. I heard that he is not even allowed to set foot in the distributor's stores anymore.

The thing is, our prime distriutor here, not only imports the products, but is also the one who organizes the major events. Weekly standard tournaments, GPs, and our Nationals.

Before you go bashing in an international forum, please see first on what your 'enemy' has done to our gaming industry. They are actually the ones who made Magic and other TCGs, hobbies, flourish in our country. I am very grateful to them that they made Magic this big here.

    Peace out, man.

And yes, packs in our country are fairly cheap. 160 Philippine pesos is around $3.70-3.80. And thats flat. No taxes are added as well. When I went abroad, packs are higher at home and some singletons are a lot more expensive there. Thats why its so hard to find moxen here in the Philippines because a lot were shipped out abroad by old players.

Tried it and I have to say its bad.
Unless you can prove me wrong, then I can say to give up on the idea.
The only thing were Gush would be good is if Mongrel is in deadly distance.
The idea is good, but then it slows down your tempo really fast.

And yes, if you will go with Merchant Scroll + Gush, then go with +Fastbond = GAT or Gush Storm.

    Good read.

Mondu, I think I know who usually says that in our tournaments. I think he's a very good looking guy. Someone as good looking as me. lol :p

But as with mondu, splits rarely happen in our play area. Sometimes it does happen though when it is two teammates who face off in the finals and just 'splits' the prize meaning it goes to their card pool or something.

I do happen to say that its always about honor. And yes, I don't care about the prize layout as what other players think here. I really think its about the competition like how to break away from a losing game and then turn the game around. Mondu usually says that if his tech hits his opponent, that would have made his day. And I agree with him.

I don't know if we are the only ones who think like that here in our play area. But for us, it is more of the ingenious techs that we show out and how we play.

For me, I will take out Propaganda and Yawg Will as well.
Then include put in Time Walk then put in another Tangle Wire too.

Time Walk is game swinging and has made me lost to Stax lots of time where I am about to win. Using U/W Fish, I was one attack away from winning then a Time Walk came, opponent added more counters to Stack, and I lost because of that. And that happened to me many times as well.

    First turn, Orchard, Mox, Oath.

    What do you do then?

Take note that Oath has a better draw engine and about 12 counterspells. Most of the time you will not be drawing Goblin Recruiter and Food Chain.

Oath will most likely beat FCGs butt any time of the day. I have seen it happen and happen unless the oath player is really careless. Grin
