posted a message on Green the best EDH color?
In a 1v1 environment, blue is the strongest color, hand's down. It is far from unbeatable, even an aggro deck can beat a blue control deck if the aggro player understands what the blue control player needs to win.
In order for aggro to beat blue control, the aggro player must always be able to keep his foot on the pedal while simultaneously generating more card advantage than his opponent. Forcing them to discard and keeping them from sandbagging heavy counters for your big plays are your key to winning. Punish them for not countering the two or three creatures they couldnt spare a counter card for, in fear that a much larger combo was waiting in your hand.
To me, the most important aspects of EDH are Draw power, Versatility, and Survivability. Things drop onto and leave the field frequently in EDH. Do you have enough draw power to keep up if you're wiped out? Do you have enough versatility in your spells to respond to most circumstances? Do your cards possess enough survivability to get the value of the mana you spent on them, or did you just tap your lands and basically discard a card, grimacing at your opponent? Flashback, Evoke, Unearth, Indestructiblity, Shroud, Hexproof, Protection, Split Second, Landwalks, etc... things like this are key when it comes to your permanents. Blue has its counterspelling for advantage, but a card like Silence or Akroma, Angel of Fury can single handedly DESTROY a blue deck, and are labeled as the "weakest" colors.
It's 90% about the deck pilot, and 10% about the deck. If you know what you're up against and how to respond, you will win. People lose to the big combos that they didn't see coming and held no response for. Get better for next time, simple as that.

Wow, I went way off topic there. Posting anyways, I took the time to type that, damn it.
