Nah, there'd be a Golem lord before there'd be a Vedalken lord...and if they decided to make a new blue Lord, then they'd have to make a new one for the other four colors to make it all balanced

Or they could use it to replace Lord of Atlantis in the Core, and start using Vedalken like they used to use Merfolk.

Back on-topic, I'm really glad to see that Blue finally gets its own race again. Now all we need are functional reprints of all the Merfolk as Vedalkens.

That needs to be a "from play" added or it is too powerfull with dredge...

get this in play with animation and dredge your deck away. One dredge with golgari grave-troll has the potential for 12 damage.

I dont' think his ability will have anything to do with damage, or if it does it will be 1 damage per trigger.

Also I don't think they will print anything with that much power to destroy lands.

Actually, dredging would not be putting creatures you control into a graveyard. It can put creature cards into your graveyard, and that's not the same thing. No "from play" required there.

Here's the thing, people. Based on the 6 guild leaders we know, Rakdos will not have an activated ability (I bold-italicize-underline to remind you that this is the Speculation board, of course). All of the allied-color guild leaders we know (Szadek, Lord of Secrets, Chorus of the Conclave, and Borborygmos) do not have any activated abilities, but instead have triggered abilities. (Compare to Razia, Boros Archangel, Sisters of Stone Death, and Niv-Mizzet, which all dohave activated abilities.)

Since B/R is an allied combination, it follows that Rakdos will likely not have an activated ability.

Especially nothing as stupid as T: Destroy up to 99 creatures of your choice. (lol gets arownd protection) like some of you have guessed. Wink

great card with a god-awful name. are we sure this is the actual name of the card?
i really like it, but personally, would have liked it better if it costed W/B mana W/B mana and it was rare. would have been a far better card

You can't just slap hybrid costs on any card. Then you get such stupid things as a discard spell for WW. Then you'd start complaining about how unfair it is that white gets such a good discard spell.

Really and truly, I think there shouldn't be any argument over this card. It's a common. Commons usually aren't noteworthily (not really a word) creative. Of course it's just slapped together and mediocre. It's a common.

    *did not read entire thread*

Common? It may not be that good, but that just seems to me like it should be an uncommon.

Plus, it seems very anti-dredge. Whoa, that looks like Life from the Loam in your hand! *yoink-poof*

I think a lot of you are forgetting that this is a collectible card game. There are lots of people who like to collect things like this. Sure, most constructed and limited (and wannabe) demi-gods may have no interest in them, but little Pip down the street is happy because he now has game cards and Player cards to collect.

And besides, you're not losing anything out of your packs. If you don't like them, give them to someone else or just throw them away. There are much more important things to worry about than an extra, non-game-related card included in tourney packs.

Maybe it's one of the 4-color things.

That's what I was thinking. I saw a weird, mutated creature that looked like it'd be out of place anywhere.

No. If there's still something on the stack, you can't move on to declare attackers, so no combat decisions are made until after all MC's have resolved.

It took me long enough, and I had some issues, but I got my sig the way I wanted.

EDIT: Or not. Needs more center alignment...then it'll look perfect. Very nice.

This is just like 2 Mindslavers. If player A played the first one and player B played the second one, then we have a stack like this:

    B's Warcraft
    A's Warcraft

B's resolves first, so he gets to declare everything. Then A's resolves, overwriting B's and giving A power to decide combat.

    EDIT: So, you're right.

Well said, St@r. After reading this, I'm already DROOLING in anticipation for whatever wicked thing they got for U/W... Love

They won't get a gold card, just a powerful uncommon that they'll put the guild insignia behind. The card, you say?

    UU
    Instant
    Counter target spell.

    >_>

    <_<

Okay, blue mages will never shut up about this.

Back on topic, I like Wreak Havoc, but I think they could have taken off the uncounterability and made it instant instead as the improvement over Pillage. Who cares if it would be unfair?

I really like mine...I just have to set it up!

As for the Yawgmoth one...I believe there's a symbol you could watermark like the guild symbols here. Smile

I dunno...that seems like too much of a win-more card. If you can already deal enough damage to make him huge, why play him in the first place?

I, too, would like to request a Xander-style banner sig. I was thinking the 5-color one (without the colorless mana symbol).

The quote: "Can't we all just get along?"

    Center Picture: Mind Bend (9th)

    Right Picture: Channel the Suns

I was thinking of advancing the use of all the colors, so I was looking for arts that depicted them all. I may want to change the arts, though, especially if you think they don't work well.

Just like WotC (and probably the artist as well) can't really do anything to MTGSalvation, MTGSalvation probably won't do anything to members using the images in signatures or avatars. But MTGSalvation complied with WotC and the artist on good faith, and it would be appreciated if everyone else would do the same for the time being.

For those who have the images on your hard drive, keep them there. Nobody knows you have them. And the point is to prevent the mass public from seeing them (for now, anyway).

Definitely take them down. These are spectacular arts, I think, and it would be a shame for their artist to get into more trouble than he already is. I, for one, want to continue seeing art from him.

Besides, we can all rummage through our cache files. Cool
