Nevertheless, TC added diversity to the format since UR Delver
Yes, the format was so diverse in legacy that at a legacy GP, three of the eight top decks were main decking Pyroblast.
It was like the argument against banning surviai: "This format is diverse! You got AggroSurvival, ControlSurvial, and even ComboSurvival.

My bad. Carry on.
(Keep in mind I don't play Standard)

I've said it before in previous threads, but having played Jund extensively for at least six months I can tell you it is pretty poorly positioned right now and the printing of TNN has made a lot of the 70/30 and 60/40 match-ups into 50/50's. That's not terrible, but keep in mind most Jund players choose Jund so they can smash the fair blue decks (while conceding to Combo). With that logic, the main attraction to playing Jund is gone and you still have the unattractive part of losing to combo.
At the same time, as I have said in the previous thread, I am not sure that means TNN needs to be banned. It just means the meta is changing and that's not always a bad thing.

This.
When my friend won a SCG Open with Goblins almost every question asked in the interview was about how his bad Goblins deck could beat decks like Deathblade, Shardless BUG, etc. (aka decks that cost $2,000+). Starcity is a business and it is in their best interest to advertise the decks that cost more money.
It actually really annoys me about their coverage because it's obvious half the time the commentators don't know what they're talking, most of the time they are just terrible commentators and should look into another profession that doesn't involve public speaking, and 100% of the time it's clear they are trying to sell cards. There are exceptions to the first two faults, but the latter is omnipresent and in the big scheme of things, as I said, it's in their best interest so I understand that.

Having played Jund for about six months yeah it actually is. Jund preyed upon fair blue decks (RUG, Shardless BUG, Esperblade, etc.). It used to be a 60/40 and sometimes as bad as 70/30 and I'd say with TNN it's closer to 50/50 now.
I now pack Golgari Charms in my sideboard so yes there are answers, but I've come to the conclusion "Why play Jund when I can just play a blue fair deck?" and have the same 50/50 coin flips with other fair decks *and* not auto-lose to combo.
I'm not saying TNN is banned, but just answering your question that TNN does hurt Jund's presence in the meta.

Unfortunately, this is a huge drop-off from where I was (Madison, WI). We played twice a week at our LGS (MoxMania) for a $5 fee and averaged 25 - 30 players (!). The prize breakdown was 4-0: 6 packs, 3-0-1: 4 packs, 3-1: 3 packs, and 2-2: 2 packs. You could also turn your packs into store credit ($2.25 per pack) instead if you wanted to save up for a Legacy staple, which is what I usually did. I've gotten Dual Lands off of just saving up my prizes after multiple $5 tournaments. It's the most generous prize distribution I've seen for a $5 buy-in, but the store owner is the best I've ever dealt with and understands the whole "treat your customers well and it'll come back" philosophy. As for make-up and player base, most tier 1 and 2 decks represented with a pretty skilled player base (1 SCG Open win, a few 2nd/3rd place finishes, and quite a few Top 8's).
Not going to lie, the current setup is significantly less vibrant and the skill level lower and I've definitely seen a drop off in my skill. However, as Tormod always says "If you build it, they will come" and I've already seen some improvement in the skill and player base so like I said, I have hope.

Ugh. Don't remind me. I played back then and Taiga into Kird Ape is still my favorite turn one play since I was 10 years old or something. For them to ban Kird Ape back then was ridiculous. Just as ridiculous as banning Wild Nacatl in a format where Delver is legal. Given I understand Delver isn't as good without Ponder, Brainstorm, etc., but it's still quite silly that Nacatl is banned.
...I guess that was off-topic, but that Kird Ape stuff really gets under my skin. Doesn't help that Zoo is basically a dead deck in Legacy. I guess that at least relates to this thread...

And yes I agree about Shaheen. I rarely watch commentary, but he comes across as an ass and it's clear his knowledge is dated at best and at worse misinformed.
Like you said, I'm guessing it's because the Pro Tour is going on at the same time.

Everything in your posts seems to indicate you have never played a single game of Legacy and all your arguments come down to conjecture and a biased opinion.
Turn 1 and 2 wins are expected? More like they *can* occur, but they are outliers. Then you're saying "That is why people have to play Force of Will!" You're using circular logic that is flawed at best and in reality is misinformed.
If Legacy were dominated by Turn 1 and Turn 2 wins then the format would be mostly Char Belcher and Spanish Inquisition. Instead, as we can statistically see, the format is mostly Aggro (citation: http://www.mtgtop8.com/format?f=LE). You can clearly see on the right side that 43% of Legacy decks Top 8'ing are Aggro and Combo is only 32% with Goblin Charbelcher at a whopping 1%!
This graph also shows that Legacy is one of the healthiest formats with a reasonable breakdown of Aggro/Control/Combo and a relatively stable banlist. The community and meta are self-regulating and for the most part, Wizards hasn't done anything. By the inverse you have Modern where Wizards is putting their hands into everything and look how that's turning out with a laughable banlist and pro players saying in public that they don't like playing Modern, but they have to during Modern season.
