Ditching Haakon to a Survival of the Fittest of Fauna Shaman is pretty great when you can fetch up another knight. If you use Karador you can also cast them from the yard without Haakon.

I took a mtg hiatus, got some cards stolen, sold the rest. Back into EDH now.

The resonator is also an amazing card in every EDH deck. With the format being what it is, etb effects make up a large majority of one's decision on playing creature X over creature Y.

I wanted to post my build, I've been away too long to remember how to do it the easy way (or Lazy way, whatevs). Either that or it was all the excessive drinking I did when I was younger...

    Or both.

So the newly spoiled Dark Prophecy from M14 looks like it might be totally amazing here. Any thoughts?

I run six different sac outlets in my build, so yes I am very excited to try this thing out!! I can add it to the rector targets in the deck. It can get sunny t'd back into play if disenchanted. And can net me at LEAST one additional card a turn. For me, it's a no brainer. I'll test it out and post more thought's here.

I think in certain deck builds Dark Prophecy will be an amazing card. I can see Kresh, Chainer, and my Karador deck loving this card. One life per creature? Is that really something worth worrying about?! It only triggers for your critters. I mean, if your running this in a token deck, you're a ****ing idiot... Counter balance it with a couple life linkers. If you have a deck that has a heavy sac theme or at least several outlets, this card will be nuts for you.
And I agree with KissMyAssassin, one of the cards in the new core set that I really want to pick up.

I've been testing him in my Karador deck to decent results. I did drop the curve a little to combat his possible 'killing of me' ability.

However, I think that claiming the he is good in edh is far too general of a statement. He's good only if you do indeed tailor your deck to accommodate him, which for some is not feasible. Claiming that he wins games is just silly.

My deck used to run all three as well, but I took out the lark due to it's lack luster performance aside from the stupid combo. I suppose my comment is centered around every deck list posted and it's inclusion of the combo, making it a focal point of the deck. I believe that Karador is more of an attrition style general and should be played that way. Slow grinding games with more utility than beaters. Of course this is only my opinion, and you know how people like to voice their opinions over the faceless/blameless void called the interweb.

I was not attacking the individual cards within the combo, only the fact that it seems necessary to include them in a BGW deck when there are other great cards that can get one to the same goal with out the boring stagnation of a snoozefest. I was trying to promote creativity.

Sounds like your play group has a firm grasp on their own abilities to govern themselves. Kudo's to you. Most of my play group would be building stupid, un fun, master-comb0-nator decks in a heart beat. You are hard pressed to find a group of players who can collectively build decks without the ban list (which is only suggested) and not throw hissy fits. Hell, that happens here all the time...

I like Oona's Prowler as a discard outlet a lot better, if only for the fact that you don't have to wait for it to go active to use it.

Why is it that every Karador deck feels the need to run the safi/lark combo in it?? Can we not find more original ways to kill our opponents?? I don't use it, and my deck does just fine.

As a core member of Tervys play group I want to chime in to defend him and his views, because whether or not you agree with what he's said, they are all valid points that may need to be addressed if this format is to keep healthy and strong. In our area EDH, well no, Commander has turned into a 'you play X color, you play X card', and I bet that if you look at your own play groups you see that happening too. Now I am not by any means telling you how to play, or what to play, only trying to surface the thought that since when did an intended casual, and still 'casual' format become so reliant upon everybody playing the same cards in the same colors?? It's becoming a hundred card standard format, and if you don't see this happening, your blind, or ignorant, or both. I'm not saying they're good, but where did the mono green tribal druid decks go??!! The all the same artist decks?? They got replaced by 'Mono green stompy is teh sukzorz' and 'let ***** about these six drops', that's where they went... This ties me into my next train of though. Power creep. Most of can't handle it, whether you think you can, or not. You can't. The ability to self govern, also gone. Why?? beats the **** out of me, nor do I particularly care. All I know is that it's turning off good players with good decks who are calling me on the phone and telling me they're quitting EDH, selling all their cards, and ruining my day. When all of this begins to touch on MY play group, I get pissed. Portland has lots of places to play and lots of players. It's hard to find a core group any more, more than it is is to just find a game. I suppose if it wasn't supposed to be such a social game, we would all hole up in our parents basements, listen to Korn, and play the same two decks against the same three people once a month. It's not like this, is it friends?? Tervy doesn't need a new play group, do you Tervy?? What he needs is a group of guys who love and support him no matter what decisions he makes. And you know what?? He has that. We're not just some bro's who meet up once a week to help stagnate this amazing format. We care about each other outside the magical world of magic. We're true friends. I'll miss playing against you Big T, but you know I'll see you every week anyways. I'm far too good looking for you to stay away!! BAM!!

    ...yeah, you're welcome.

I just spent ten minutes searching for a link for companies that would make you MMPR sleeves, I didn't find any.

Consider WAkroma as another top notch beater. I suppose in my meta having a less impacting citp ability is actually better, since things are getting snatched up left and right.

I'm glad that Buried Alive is working for you, I guess it's just to much with the amount of hate running through my play group.

I like the Harmonic Sliver because it triggers upon entering play, there's no cost to be paid. I have gotten both of the sliver in play/gray yard (same thing in this deck) several times and it has never disappointed me doing so.

I assume 'Grand Finale' is Life's Finale??

I prefer Chord of Calling over GSZ because it's not color specific and it's an instant. I suppose it's one time use in a bit limiting in favor of the zenith, but how often do you draw the zenith a second time and need that one green creature in play??
